Is this even true? I'm pretty sure I've re-checked my 1.7 seeds to find out how the new stone types were spawning, and then again to test the changes to villagers. Same generation, barring the obvious; the Biome generation appears unchanged. I prefer the temperature based system, I really do.

I agree. I asked for proof from Redstonevet and received nothing. I also checked my self and found no changes.

Why are there just sheep instead of big horn sheep or mountain goats? Why aren't there black/white cows? Why aren't there single colour cows? Why are there not warthogs? Why aren't there roosters? Why do zombies only wear one kind of clothing? Why aren't there black wolves as well as normal wolves?

Simple answer: They can't add everything, it takes too much time and makes the game too crowded.

If you manage to find 3 diamonds (an easy feat) then you can easily get stacks of obsidian. Obsidian is so bloody common that you can easily have a stack of it at the end of the day. Within 3 minecraft days or less you can have a stack or more of diamond-quality material.

    This makes no sense.

I have no idea if this is against the TOS...but the price of minecraft is very reasonable. For $25 you get a huge game that is constantly being updated. Compare that to, say, CoD where for $60 you get a game that will give you a limited amount of enjoyment before you need to buy a DLC or an entirely new game.

posted a message on Iron farms once again "nerfed" to the point of impracticality?
Am I correct in saying that only the iron trench genre of farms will be broken? Won't the old fashioned JL25679 farms still work? If that is the case then you have nothing to complain about.

During the time it takes to build an iron trench or other wise you can easily have 2 stacks or more from a Jl2579 farm.

You will really try to argue over anything.

I assumed you would be keen enough not to take "Release the Kraken" literally. Guess I was wrong.

In the future would you mind not taking everything so seriously?

I won't take things seriously if I can see that it was a joke. Nobody really saw that what you said was a joke.

Well, "Release the Kraken" would be a good start... unless you truly believe one exists.

Anyway, lets not de-rail Ttzara's thread over your guys' animosity towards me.

    ----

OP, the new stone is only suppose to spawn in extreme hills I believe, so that would explain the rarity. Hopefully, they will update the texture. It could be improved. Good thing is they can do this at anytime. They did a much better job on the polished stones for the new blocks. I like those.

In the future, would you mind not making jokes on the internet? Or at least use [sarcasm] [/sarcasm]?

And the fact that a kraken does not exist does not give anyone hints that this is supposed to be a joke.

    Simple solution:
Make iron and gold ore blocks drop actual items instead of the ore block itself.

    Edit:
    Eh ... simple thought error.
This would only enable fortune one iron and gold ore blocks :x

    Edit²:
Maybe give ore blocks a shapeless crafting recipe to "mix them together" and get the default ore block of that type.

That kinda takes away half of the smelting system...

More like the first of few. That guy got shut up pretty quickly and I'm pretty sure he posted before the OP made the disclaimer.

Well it's funny because I just checked out the latest snapshot (14w03b) and Mojang has in fact altered the terrain generator. The biomes are much smaller. It also appears that the temperature system isn't as strict either, but I'll have to wait until Amidst updates to confirm this.

Some of the terrain generation is also a little derpy, floating chunks of land, stone walls, and broken ravines, so you can tell it has been worked on.

There aren't any 10,000 block wide biomes on default anymore. :)

What is your proof of this? I see nothing about terrain changes in any patch notes.

I guess i suggested something like that in the OP scum, but yeah it might be the better way to fix this or just avoid ores on granite, andesite and dionite "veins".

    I need my eyes checked.

A simpler method would be to have the ore adapt the texture of the stone it is surrounded by. Such functionality is already in place in the popular CTM mod.

    Quote from Debugman18

    Well, crap.

Here's to hoping they nerf iron itself and/or add a new material that can't be farmed.

If Jeb is revoking the nerf because of a 1500 post long Reddit rant, then I imagine that the nerfing of iron would cause an even greater rant and Jeb would revoke it again.

I find this to be somewhat pointless. just start your worlds in 1.6 and explore there. Once you have a decently nice world fully generated, switch to 1.7+. Bam, better biome. However in 1.8 if you try using 1.8>1.6>1.8, it won't work because the block ID system was tweaked.
So you'd need to start your worlds as 1.6. It's probably better anyways as you avoid all the andesite and such. Whatever you do, if you do start a new 1.6 world, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT, go to your 1.8 worlds.

Don't bother using that argument on him. He'll immediately hit you with "I shouldn't have to do anything to fix this problem".
