Can someone explain my why you need a insurance/lawyer for just some hosting? Also whats wrong with paying staff in servers instead of money. Just some questions.
One assumes that you would retain a lawyer in case you're sued or need to sue and you will also likely need a lawyer to "create" the legal entity the company will operate under such as a corporation or limited liability company.
If you're going to pay your staff in 'servers', I assume they're not adults. I'd be homeless if I got paid in servers, what good would they do if I didn't have a home? There are child labor laws that you must comply with not only where your company operates from but also where the staff is from. There's also the big problem of minors not being able to sign contracts. What's the stop them from wrecking your servers and selling/giving out confidential information?
The certificate is signed by Thawte. It's trusted. If you look closer at the error you're seeing, you will see that some content on the page is from a non-SSL source. It's the "login with Google, Yahoo, etc" frame which does use SSL when you actually click it.
Instead of portfowarding (which is kind of rubbish) you could use Hamachi, which is pretty good, although maybe not for any more than you are thinking of. Just look up Hamachi server setup for tekkit, and pick a tutorial.
You make me sad. Hamachi is squatting on public IP space. If you run the Hamachi client, you're effectively disabling your access to a large portion of the internet. To be specific, over 16 million IPs. To properly host a server, you need to port forward (which is just opening a port in your router's firewall and sending the traffic to the specified host). If your connected directly to the Internet without a firewall, you don't even need to portforward.
