If it doesn't work, try surrounding one block of grass with sand, and try the growth spell on the one grass block.

    Because of Growth's method of operation, it may take a few casts to get results.

    Wrong choice of words on my part, I was referring more to compatibility rather than dependency. As you're planning to use one type of oil, it's easy for people to assume that BuildCraft oil will become a possible alternative (which is why we jumped to that rather quickly.) I still hold hope for BuildCraft compatibility. :Sheep:

    I don't think Cuchaz is going to put a whole heck of a lot of blocks in, he's already said it won't be dependent on anything beyond forge. (Or, at least that's what I gather.) I'm not sure if Cuchaz is wanting to put in uses for fuel, but that is where the conversation about oil as an alternative came into play. At the moment what [I] know for sure is that ships are going to have more realistic-type propulsion options as well as realistic buoyancy. Possibly including propellers for the airships. The docking block is to avoid grabbing the rest of the world when you try to launch a ship, an absolute must with any airship.

    That being said, Cuchaz! can the docking block for airships please act like a ladder? For just this specific reason?

    If you're considering BuildCraft oil to be part of this mod then you could, if you ever felt like it in the future sometime, finish the compatibility and allow pipes and tanks of BuildCraft to integrate with the ships, making oil tankers more feasible. Also, like I tend to say when dabbling in programming myself, "why reinvent the wheel?" BuildCraft has tanks, and people could take it another step further with full conversion and have an entire refining system on an airship, making fuel as you move from one oil deposit to the next.

    Now, I haven't ever looked at BuildCraft's API or base code so I don't know how effective the crossover would be or how much time it would take, if at all possible, but it would open a lot of doors to a lot of designs. Food for thought, if nothing more.

    Fun question for you:
    Will we be able to have the airships/ships/submarines continue moving even if we're not at the helm? Like lock in a specific speed and degree of turning so we can go get a margarita or some new pickaxes and still get to where we want to go?

    This would also allow people to follow more closely to movie-style zeppelins, where they're wandering about having drinks or entertaining guests.

However, after having trying to build a small ship, the game became very buggy (1fps is not quite pleasant to play), even if the ship was very small, and my computer relatively efficient.
    -Another non serious issue: when I look in a direction and turn my ship, my vision doesn't turn, that's quite annoying... but it is not serious, so don't put it on top of the to-do list.

    That is the second time today I've used that, and both times it was well warranted...

    Oh yes, definitely. Airships will be easy. The first release is going to be just water ships though. Airships will be patched in later.

    That basic idea is, I have to do a lot of work to make a tile entity on a ship think that nearby entities in the world are actually on the ship too. This involves intercepting and editing communication between tile entities and entities. It also means I have to know where to go looking for where this communication happens. Since I have the source to all the vanilla tile entities, I have all the info I need to find the lines of communication. If mod tile entities use the same lines of communication, then those lines already been tapped, so to speak. But if the mod tile entities communicate with entities in some new way, I couldn't have possibly known and the tile entities won't work on ships.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

    The answer is slightly more complicated than everything or vanilla. I'll do my best to get all the vanilla tile entities working. At least the ones that don't change blocks. For instance, I may never get pistons working because I don't allow block changes to ships. If there's a mod tile entity that behaves like a vanilla tile entity, there's a chance it will automatically work. The less a mod tile entity behaves like vanilla tile entity, the less likely it will work on a ship without me having to specifically write code to support it.

    So Tile Entities that work more like vanilla entities in what way? I understand the no-block-change limitation, that'd be a fun issue later. While I understand that part, I'm confused on what kind of Tile entity would theoretically work, such as industrial craft generators and wires and, maybe (fingers crossed) BuildCraft pipes?

    (Sorry if I'm jumping the gun on these, but I got to say this look like it will be the best mod I've had since the original Zeppelin. Party on the yacht in the sky!)
