Hey Azanor,
I was wondering if you might be able to introduce some way to accelerate recharging of repair-enchanted items. Specifically I'm looking for a way to make auto-mining with the arcane bore a more reasonable proposition, instead of having to carry around a bunch of Pickaxes of the Core on my hotbar while they recharge, that gets a little silly. One idea I had was perhaps an addition/attachment/alteration to the wand recharging stand that lets you use vis from nodes to repair items. Having a working recharge stand with nodes is a fairly late setup, so I thought that might be reasonably balanced.
Just wanna say I've been playing with TC4 the past couple of weeks, and I absolutely love it. TC3 was really good, but this time you have outdone yourself dear sir! It's all so damn well polished, and there are so many things I'd have not even thought possible in Minecraft, you've really pushed the envelope.
Been watching Direwolf20 playing with the new toys you have in store too, they're looking mighty tasty.
Hey DrZhark, I love Mo' Creatures, I really do. It's awesome.
But CMS is awful, just terrible. And I hate that MoC relies on it.
Spawn rates are so broken it's ridiculous. I went from having CMS repeatedly despawning my farm animals, to fields and valleys damn packed full of cows, pigs and sheep, and everywhere inbetween. I've been messing around re-tweaking the configs again and again to compensate, and it's getting to the point where I'm seriously considering just yanking CMS and Mo' Creatures off our server, because it's just borking everything up.
So I beg of you, please fix CMS to stop this damn busted-ass silliness, or make Mo' Creatures not dependent on it. You're ruining a very good mod otherwise.
I'm getting an intermittent crash when connecting to a server, apparently related to codechicken.core. Seems to happen when the client can't connect in a timely fashion (often when I'm also downloading something).

Been playing with Mo' Creatures on top of FTB on our server, and I must say that it's fantastic with Biomes 'O Plenty. Adds so much depth and atmosphere, the birds singing, crickets chirping, dolphins swimming in the oceans, damn big cats chasing me down on the savannah....
Couple of requests tho - I spent ages tweaking the balance of Mo' Creatures - I know you probably want to show everything off (and deservedly so) but when I first got it running we were absolutely swamped with mobs, so much so nobody could get anything done. Perhaps you might like to consider toning it down a little, the thrill of discovering new critters by surprise can have a great impact too.
Second thing is just regarding Minecraft's general combat mechanics - they're god-awful. Knockback is terrible, mob behaviour is just stupid, etc. So I was thinking Mo' Creatures would be a good mod to incorporate some tweak options for certain combat parameters (such as knockback amount etc.) especially for each individual creature, it would be fantastic.
Last thing - and probably the most practical and important - when I first started tweaking the balance on our server, I was trying to use the in-game GUI, and wondering why the changes I made weren't sticking. Then I realized that the GUI only applies to SP/client, and that I had to make changes in the config, then restart the server every time I wanted to change a setting (aaaand explain to everyone why I was restarting it AGAIN). Would it be possible to make the GUI affect changes on the server please? (for ops only, of course).
Thanks, your consideration on these issues is much appreciated, as is the awesome mod. Keep up the great work!
Dinosaurdynasty, that's awesome, thank you! By the time I posted that this morning I'd been up all night. Was pretty over it.
You did a great job of cleaning it up!
I realized that the ore colors for the wireframe need to be tweaked, but that's a minor thing. It didn't really matter when the debug commands weren't working for me. But now it goes in the 'extra' dir, I guess those commands will work fine now.
Hey JRoush, I really love your mod, it's really changed the way I play MC. There's so much less grinding involved, but it's still
nicely balanced because mining a vein seems harder work than mindlessly digging straight tunnels!
Anyway, I kinda got a little impatient waiting for configs for GregTech, so I put together a quick config for The End ores. I think this balances things out a bit more (GregTech is ridiculously nerfed, as we all probably know), but still makes it a decent bit of work to get the goods.
Olivine is distributed in small, tight, frequent lodes in the mid-to-upper layers, sodalite is in large, sparse lodes around the surface.
I made these two very common considering they're pretty worthless ores, and the End needed a bit of color .
Tungstate is in large, infrequent and messy groupings (so it's harder to mine), While sheldonite (which is what we're really here for) is
in long, thin & vertical veins, with frequent breaks to make following the vein difficult, and the veins tend to run right through the island so there's a likelyhood you can fall out the bottom if you get too careless in your digging.
So the values are there to get you started for the rest of the GregTech stuff JRoush, but it could use translating into a global config. Plus I couldn't figure out how to get the ID names for the blocks, just had to use the number, so that needs fixing.
I also bumped into a couple of bugs while doing this - with a custom XML is in the DIM1 directory, I couldn't access the debug commands. I had to delete the region directory to refresh the world every time I wanted to check my changes. And when I put an invalid value in certain settings (0 in BranchLength for one I think) it crashed the game, you might want to include some range-checking on those vars.
Anyone who wants to use this, the config is just a basic hack, cop the text into a file named 'CustomOreGen_Config.xml', and place it in your 'minecraft\saves\<yourworld>\DIM1' folder. The block ID's will have to be changed to match "I:Ore" in your "config\gregtech\BlockItemIDs.cfg" file. So if "I:Ore=2222" in your GregTech config, change every instance of '3355' in the config to '2222'. Oh, and as per the bug mentioned above, you will have to trash your region folder (only the one in the DIM1 folder tho) to regen The End to see changes. BUT BACKUP FIRST!
Hey, I'm getting a crash I think is related to NEI.
Seems to happen whenever I'm screwing around in the inventory, and the crash report here http://pastebin.com/hqD52H25
suggests as much. Pretty tired right now so I can't offer any more info, but I'll post if I find out anything more.
I'm trying to make a Golem Animation Core (which I've done before), and it won't detect the Motus when I add items into the crucible.
It's picked up the Imperito fine, and I've tried boats (my usual source for Motus, and they worked fine in research) and now doors.
The last animation core i made was before the latest update, did something break?
EDIT: I just switched to creative mode and gave myself some vials of Motus, they worked fine in the crucible. So there's something wrong with Motus on the other items I guess.
Hey Rich, nice mod, but I've been using it in conjunction with Karyonix's GLSL shaders mod,
and unfortunately I'm getting a GPU lockup (and subsequent MC crash) whenever a mob dies.
I was previously using id_miner's GLSL OF shaders mod, and your mod worked fine with that, but he stopped updating.
@Karyonix - I'm getting a GPU lockup whenever a mob dies (go figure, guess it must be one of the gfx effects applied).
Running SEUS v10rc6, Radeon 7850.
Only happens with SEUS shader tho, default shader doesn't do it.
EDIT : Scratch this, was the DamageIndicators mod causing it. Still, it wasn't a problem before I switched from using id_miner's GLSL OF. Perhaps something to take a look at?
CovertJaguar, just wanna say I love this mod. Especially the giant multi-block machines like the blast furnace and rock crusher. They're so.. industrial revolution. And i'm looking really forward to the steam carts when you include them, they'll be ace.
Couple of things though - I'm a bit disappointed with the fuel use of the tunnel boring machine. Firstly, I've got myself a lovely supply of BC (petroleum) fuel now, and it's a shame the TBM won't use that - but if that's a concious decision, that's ok. But the real issue is that on the
RC wiki it states that the TBM will run for 2 mins on a bucket of lava - when in actuality it burns through a bucket in about the same time as a bit of coal! Meaning that if you want to use lava you have to be running back and forth from a source constantly - it's really impractial and nerfed. So I have my TBM running on coke now, which is ok, but I'm running industrialcraft too and I kinda wanna be using my coal for making carbon fibre now. Please can you extend the fuel options for the TBM!
The wiki also mentions that the bore heads can be repaired "using the vanilla repair recipes". Um, that's incredibly ambiguous. CraftGuide isn't showing any other recipes with the bore heads except how to make them, and no combination works on the anvil... am I missing something?
You could always make a video; Or someone else could.
Well I'd be grateful if someone's interested in doing that.
It's a good mod but useless to some people due to TMI.
what's TMI?
No matter anyways. I just whipped this up quick coz I'm making a long trek across the world atm and got sick of rebuilding boats all the time. I though i'd just stick it up in case anyone else finds it useful.
Just a simple patch to make boats drop a reusable boat item instead of stupidly dropping timber & sticks when destroyed, more like the minecart behaviour.
Sorry no pics, no point since I don't think they could do any justice.
Use your imagination.
Usual install process - drop the di.class in your minecraft.jar, delete META-INF folder.
This is a great mod, it adds so much depth to minecraft. It's amazing how some ambient sounds
can bring the world alive.
That said, i'm finding it does cause a terrible performance hit. Surely it's not necessary to have a 5fps+ performance hit for the sake of background sounds? I'd love it if you could optimize things up a bit.

You did a great job of cleaning it up!
I realized that the ore colors for the wireframe need to be tweaked, but that's a minor thing. It didn't really matter when the debug commands weren't working for me. But now it goes in the 'extra' dir, I guess those commands will work fine now.
Here we go, tweaked the wireframe:

nicely balanced because mining a vein seems harder work than mindlessly digging straight tunnels!

Seems to happen whenever I'm screwing around in the inventory, and the crash report here http://pastebin.com/hqD52H25
suggests as much. Pretty tired right now so I can't offer any more info, but I'll post if I find out anything more.

So there's something wrong with Motus on the other items I guess.

and unfortunately I'm getting a GPU lockup (and subsequent MC crash) whenever a mob dies.
I was previously using id_miner's GLSL OF shaders mod, and your mod worked fine with that, but he stopped updating.

Well I'd be grateful if someone's interested in doing that.
what's TMI?
No matter anyways. I just whipped this up quick coz I'm making a long trek across the world atm and got sick of rebuilding boats all the time. I though i'd just stick it up in case anyone else finds it useful.

Sorry no pics, no point since I don't think they could do any justice.
Use your imagination.
Usual install process - drop the di.class in your minecraft.jar, delete META-INF folder.
Only incompatible with mods that alter di.class.

can bring the world alive.
That said, i'm finding it does cause a terrible performance hit. Surely it's not necessary to have a 5fps+ performance hit for the sake of background sounds? I'd love it if you could optimize things up a bit.
Otherwise, keep up the good work!
