So I guess the android version I've been playing for the past year is a alpha build? I never noticed really.

What I love is theres this awesome Star Wars mod and Disney/LA doesn't seem to care, but this little rinky dink company seems to care about something as simple as a map.

The worst part of this is theres actually a person's signature on it. So either it was rubber stamped, or that person is jelly, or too stupid to know right from wrong. Perhaps all of the above.

On the bright side a custom map got some recognition it would otherwise not have received. My question is how would a golf map work without a mod to let you play golf unless you make the whole course out of ice or something lol.

If they're suing all these different gaming companies it's obviously some bozo trying to get money. Nobody heard of him before, and he can't possibly own something that all those companies are infringing upon. Unless he somehow pulled an lucasarts and trademarked the word "game" like lucas trademarked the word "droid", making it so motorola had to get permission to use the name for their phones. I should trademark "blue", that way I can sue the sky for using it without my permission.

What do you mean by "launcher jar"? I double clicked minecraft.jar to find it would not run because it's not a executable, and then I tried typing into the terminal "java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame", only to get this.

After doing some googling, just about every result suggests uninstalling openjava and getting sun-java6, which is nowhere to be found. Even the minecraft download page says to get sun java. Of course I haven't uninstalled it though. I'd rather not get rid of something until I know of a replacement.

That came with mint, and it doesn't work. It always tells me that the jar is not executable.

I recently installed mint 13 dual boot with win 7. The game's jar is downloaded, and I tried to install sun java, but look at the terminal output...

Sooo.... What do I do?... Are future linux users gonna have to close shop on minecraft?

No amount of google searching has helped me thus far, but if this is in any way related, then someone has got to emulate java better then openjava does... http://blog.sudobits.com/2012/01/18/sunjdk-will-be-removed-from-ubuntu-partner-archive/

So if enchantment tables no longer enchant up to 50, how WILL we be able to do it? I hope someone makes a bukkit mod to undo this change. I like having swords with knockback and fire. I honestly think the whole enchantment system was poorly designed anyway. Pointless to even use it now.

Since it sots $22 to buy Minecraft, if the price to change your name is more then that, it wouldn't be worth it. Half the price, now you're talking! For those worried people can evade server bans, It would be a pretty costly way to do it. So I do hope it costs enough to make someone think twice.

For all who may have said notch was greedy in the past, prepare your your foot for oral insertion.
If it was me, I would have kept half of it. That'd do me for the rest of my life under current living conditions. I'd never have to work again, and may even be able to buy some of the things I've been wanting, like a smart phone, a bomb shelter, and a backup generator. lol

At first I thought Notch was just trolling us, but it seems legit. I guess when something goes wrong on my MC server I can't shout "[email protected] Notch!" anymore. I liked having someone to point fingers at when a lag hole appears or when it starts snowing in the desert. >.>
