posted a message on IRL: Would you live in The Nether or The End?
I have a huge castle that I sometimes stay in the the nether in my game. I built it around my portal, so i don't get attack as soon as I walk through it. I have also thought of doing it in The End, and I probably will, however I only started a new game a few days ago and Im not quite there yet, but the end is cool.

posted a message on Minecraft has a end
Minecraft doesn't need an ending especially in survival mode.

Here is an idea, download and play one of the mods with quests and goals built into them...

Maybe they could add random quests or missions into survival mode, but its not necessary at all, I have enough of my own missions and quests... I really think the freedom the game allows you in Survival mode is one of the greatest features of the game. As I said random events and missions might spice things up for those who want it, but make it optional.

posted a message on Why do people think the BD is so good?
Im in total agreement. BD is a big upgrade for AMD, but they are still some way behind intel for performance in CPUs. The main advantage for BD and many AMD CPUs that are coming out is the move of many motherboard and cipset features onto the CPU itself. It will allow greater laptop performance in smaller space.
You are also quite correct on power output, you only need to look at the performance levels of sperver CPUs to understand that Ghz is only one part of many contributing factors on CPU performance. The other thing that pisses me off is the attitude now that more cores is always better... not necessarily true at all... it depend what you want it to do, in fact many programs still only use a single core on a CPU.

I was benchmark test a couple of CPUs at work the other day...
I had a socket 775 Intel Xeon running at 2.8Ghz duel core with an 8 meg cache... It benched at a similar level to a mid range i5. So frequency is only one part of performance, multi-core threading and cache are at least as important.

Its made me appreciate exploring new things... But you just have to make sure you don't stop... or if you do stop be sure to have a sword ready to take somethings head of... worse still is the "tsst" sound when you didn't even know it was there...

Oh wait... Thats minecraft... what was reality like again?

My most recent was digging my way out of a cave system that I got lost in. I came up under the ocean, By the time i got to the surface I was at about a quarter health, it was night time and a creeper must been swimming near me... and... tsssssssst... BANG!!! That dreaded sequence of noises that all minecraftians fear.

posted a message on Cobblestone generator cheat or not cheat?
I don't think its a big issue, its no faster than mining and it allows you to get it without destroying the environment around you.

That is if your talking about turning lava run-off into cobblestone... If its done by hacking though, then yes I would consider it a cheat. I don't consider taking advantage of the normal game rules is cheating at all. As i said if its done through hacking or cheat code, then definitely.

posted a message on What do you think of my build?
A very expensive waste of money i think. I could build something better for a heck of alot cheeper.

    3.1 GHz i5 ($240)
    Gigabyte MB, w/8SATA3 ports, 4duel channel ram slots, 3PCI, 4PCI extpress, x2 PCIGrapics ($180)
x1 8900GTX nVidia (nothing, someone decided they didn't want it and threw out a PC which had this in it)
16gig Corsair dominator RAM (twin set of 4gig sticks x2 $80 each, so $160 total)
2TB HDD (movies, videos ect.), 500Gig HDD (main OS), 120Gig HDD (music) (80$ for the 2TB, the others nothing out of older PCs all SATA, not RAIDed i hate raid)
    x1 24' monitor X1 21' monitor ($50 for the 21 inch, $100 for the 24', a friend didn't want them)
DL DVD RW burner (nothing out of an old PC)
DL Blueray burner (Cost me $70)
Cardreader (actually have 2, one with extra USB ports, cost me nothing out of older PCs)
800W thermaltech powersupply (cost me nothing out of an old PC someone didn't want)
Custom made completely aluminum case (made the case myself, and did the wiring at work)
