Where talking about the late Pleistocene, only 10-50 thousand years ago. Although we obivously don't know all the species that lived then, many of them we do. In fact, almost all extant species were around at that time too. You'll get boar and warthogs and tigers and Homotheriums and jaguars, just not woolly tusked pigs and giant ocelots.

Well, there will be wild boar and actual tigers, but not the ones you said specifically.

Do you have, like, a Dropbox, or a Skype group or anything?

We have a group PM, and we'll be making a Dropbox soon.

Oh, and if you don't already, I'd prefer you use Tabula to model.

Some actual fossils give DNA, like a T-rex skeleton that was accidentally dropped from a helicopter. The bones still had bone marrow somehow (don't remember all the details), with blood cells that had some DNA. Of course, that was a one in a million chance, so ignore that.

Mummies however, like the woolly mammoth calf found frozen in Siberia, do have some DNA, so that was just something to think of.

Speaking of which, is there a reason I don't see a woolly mammoth up there? Still a pretty good idea though.

Woolly Mammoth isn't made yet, were kinda doing a lot of carnivores right now because of reasons.

Ok, cool (I love Dakotaraptor, a large dromasuarid in Hell Creek? Awesome). Anyway, as long as your fine with making more simple models, your in.

The world was once full of many diverse species of animals. When Humans arrived, they single handily changed this. Humans controlled the environment to their liking and drove large, easily huntable species to extinction, along with the other animals that depended on them. After 15 thousand years, the environment grew slightly accustom to the lack of diversity, and Humans kept to there selves, building large castles and towns, growing as a civilization. It looked like man and nature had finely reached an equilibrium.

    And then everything changed. Again.

An asteroid 4 miles in diameter slammed into the planet, causing the destruction of almost all Human settlements and decimating the other species and environment. Any species that was not killed by the impact was either killed by later events caused by the asteroid or killed by Humans as food in their time of desperation. After another couple thousand years, tiny villages were constructed and humans slowly started to rebuild what they had lost, but the species lost in both extinction events could not. The wild areas are home to mainly escaped domestic animals, leaving the environment incomplete.

Although there might not be any of those extinct species still alive, their DNA still remains, hidden in bones in caves and laying in the sand of deserts. Humans can now bring them back, and in so bring back the lost world of the Pleistocene.

    . . . . .

This mod will revolve around the player recreating the species that died out in the Late Pleistocene and other animals that are absent in the current Minecraft environment. Now, this might sound a lot like one of the four other prehistoric animals mods that currently exist (JurassiCraft, Fossil and Archeology Mod: Revival, It's About Time, and PrehistoriCraft) but I assure you ours is different in a few ways:

    1. NO DINOSAURS!

There will be no non-avian dinosaurs in this mod whatsoever. In fact, only late Pleistocene to Holocene species. Only them, so don't even ask about Dinofelis, Keleken, or Andrewsarchus.

    2. Vanilla Style

All aniamls will be vanilla in style, unlike JurassiCraft, It's About Time, or PrehistoriCraft (F&A is debatable).

    3. No Fossils

The DNA you collect will be found in bones, skin, flesh, scales, and feathers, which will come from piles of ancient bones in shallow caves and in sand and gravel with a sifter. Real fossils don't actually give DNA.

We are in need of an animator for our mobs/animals. If you'd like to help us, just contact me here or through a PM.

    Mammals:

We are currently at work creating as many animals as possible, so we plan to add more to this page as soon as possible.

Hey kids, would you like to be part of the RAPAD team?! Well, we are looking for another coder to help Dovakiin out and double check his work.

Your experience can be modest to expert, you can look on the main page to see the things that will be coded. If you're interested, either PM me or tell me right here. Tell your friends!

Why is there a scorpion png in the textures folder but no scorpion? this no make sense.

I'm guessing the Scorpion texture is for the upcoming Scorpion tank, modders commonly put unfinished files for future use in current versions.

Due to the recent increase in interest, I'm going to write some things about the mod here as a sort of update.

As I've said earlier, we'll be adding Wither Bones which can be crafted into Bone Ash, but I never said what they do. These two items will basically do almost the same job as coal and bone meal. Wither Bones can be smelted for 8 times (exactly like coal/charcoal) or crafted into 2 Bone Ash. Bone Ash can be used as a fertilizer and 4 of them can be crafted into 1 soul sand. You can't get Wither Bones or Bone Ash anywhere but from Withers or Wither Skeletons.

The initial release will considered a work in progress, so expect some bugs or forgotten content here and their, we hope to update it quickly after its been released. After a completed first version has been made, ironing out most bugs and other kinks, I plan to keep new content cryptic until release, just to keep you guys guessing. I already planned what the next content update will feature...

This is all that has come to my mind for now, but before I sign off, I would like to follow through with my promise of showing you guys the WWMM model I had made. Makes me sad that we were starting all over again just before it was gone...

Notice that the texture is mainly blank, as this was just an "unpolished" version and was never completed.

I will send you stuff I made on private, thanks for the opportunity.

and I think you didn't under stood my 5th question, I will ask again differently, if I use two (or more) types of leather/hide/pelt to craft an armor, how would it look like? For an example, if I use donkey leather and cow leather to craft a chestplate, how would it look? Like a regular leather armor? Or you will make some system that will make the armor look like two halls of different armor?

Your welcome, I look forward to it.
Leather (which is prepared hide/pelt) will come in one type, but hides/pelts will be one for each animal type. Currently, all hides/pelts can only be put with their own type, for simplification reasons. So you couldn't craft a mixed Chestplate in the first place.

Goddamnit, it's the best mod I've ever seen! I like the idea so much! The textures are awesome and there aren't too many or not enough items! I wish the best for all of the team working on this mod and I'm waiting for the mod release!

    1. Some questions, how can melted animal fat can be used as fuel if nothing needs fuel in mine craft?

    2. is the animal leather gonna turn into regular carpets or new special carpets looks like the animal shape or something?

3.the mod will be for 1.7.10? And will it work along as a mod or it will need other mods to work?

    4. can you change the venom sac texture? It looks like a green squid foot to me.

    5. And last and most important question for me, how will armor made from different kinds of leather/pelt/hide will look like?

Also, I never made a mod or Something bit I'm really good at pixel art and drawing, if you need I can work on texturing items, blocks, armor and anything else!

i really like this mod so keep updating us please!

I'm very pleased you like the project :D I've always wanted something like this, and when I found out I could texture pretty well, I decided to give it a shot. Anyway, onto your questions :P
    1. I meant furnace fuel, like burning things just like coal to smelt things.
    2. At release, vanilla carpets. I'm figuring things out for later...
    3. Initial release will be 1.7.10, eventually we'll go to 1.8. It will be standalone.
    4. Yeah, maybe, as an option as that is a common request.
    5. I'll post the finished ones today or tomorrow. You can see a few on the banner thing.

    0. I'd like to see some work you've done :P

If you guys got a coder, could it be revived?

Depends on a few factors. I have not talked to The_Last_Dovahkiin about it at all, as I rather just finally get RAPAD out of the way first. The_Last_Dovahkiin probably isn't well equipped to code WWMM and I'm not sure if he has any interest anyway.
If a coder came along wanting and able to do so, then it could be resurrected. But we have been looking for a while already, so odds are slim.
After RAPAD, I'm not certain what next.
