    posted a message on Zelda Sword Skills: 1.8.9 v3.4 and 1.7.10 v2.5.1 (03/08/2017)

For anyone using this with M&B, enable "let items block" in the MB config file to restore ZSS item functionality.

I've tried everything I could think of, from holding right click to smashing it into the mobs face and every button from a-z :P

    And yeah, I guess I should mention it's 1.8.9

I'll start a new world and see where the conflict is, if I don't post about it again it's on my side ^-^

Btw: This is all being done on a server

Edit: Conflict for both items is Mine & Blade.

Without MB both items work perfectly as intended. With it, the hookshot/whip don't fire and the medallion doesn't activate, regardless of where they're held.

    Edit2: Using MB 1.0.10.2

AND THE FINAL EDIT AND FIX IS FOUND!

For anyone using this with M&B, enable "let items block" in the MB config file to restore ZSS item functionality. Adding this to the top so it's easier to find.

Hookshots and Whips only work at extremely close range for me, as well. But I'm working with a very very heavily modded minecraft, so I didn't think to test it further than "I must have broken something" xD

Also I can't seem to find the key to activate the medallions once I have them... unless I'm doing something wrong.

posted a message on Village Names: version 4 Homecoming Update (November 2020)

Interesting idea, and for a first mod it is more thoroughly thought out than most. I imagine if anyone else had taken this project they'd have simply assigned villager names and a sign, but you took it a few steps further and for that I applaud you ^-^

Innovation is the key to future groundbreaking mods, after all. I'll definitely be adding this to my list of mods <3

    Edit:

I've come to a sad conflict, since the ability to rename villagers is completely stripped away any mod that requires villagers of a specific name is broken when this mod is alongside it. Just thought I'd let you know~

posted a message on Thaumcraft 6.1.BETA26 [no longer being developed]

Super excited to see all the work still being put into thaumcraft Azanor. This always has been, since I first found it, a mandatory mod for my minecraft experience. I don't even update until thaumcraft has a compatible version 90% of the time :P

I see most of the best mods still on 1.7.10 and 1.8.9, I use 1.8.9 personally and would not want to see such a massive skip. However, I also understand if it does happen. As for 1.9, I don't know many mods that ever touched that version, it seems largely skipped over by the modding community,

Speaking of the boomerang, I always felt that in the state it was (haven't tested it in a while) it was far too powerful. Even with the low damage, the near perma-stun at a distance made it super powerful against most enemies. Was that ever looked into?

Do any of you kids remember The Adventure of Link? I failed to beat that a long time ago, made me sad :P

On topic, though, a magic container would be the easiest to control since it could be tied into your existing skill upgrade system, if that makes sense. On how to obtain it, start it out as loot for now (quick and easy to implement, as far as I know), then if you decide you do want it to be a quest reward or something, shift it in that direction when you have more time or inspiration for it.

That's just my opinion though :P

There are several items that already can be crafted, e.g. the Wooden Hammer. Others can be upgraded by finding components and then speaking to a blacksmith, e.g. the various hookshots. Still others can be upgraded in other ways, e.g. tossing them into a fairy pool after achieving a certain amount of skill or rupees.

That said, I do see where you are coming from. Crafting and upgrading items is a major appeal of Minecraft; if you have some ideas of what items you'd like to be craftable or upgradable via crafting, feel free to make some suggestions, just keep in mind that it's not the focus of this mod and there may already be an upgrade path.

Honestly, I've always agreed with you on the finding items aspect of the mod. That's what sets it apart, find items to find other items, to find cooler and even better items. It's a lot like minecraft's normal progression (wood, stone, iron, etc) but in a new and fantastic way. It's an adventure, not a resource grind fest.

On the other hand, some of the things that require villagers, the hookshot you mentioned among them, seem like they'd be better served as a thing you could put together yourself in the crafting grid. I say anything with magical power should not be craftable, as well as (perhaps obviously) anything that is required in the mod's normal progression. (Keys, higher tier hammers, ocarina of time)

I hope we don't see a sudden shift in the mod away from exploration and into "get rock A, smelt it into bar, craft it into this" that so many mods already focus around, but that's just my opinion.

    posted a message on Howling Moon [A Werewolf mod] v1.1.1 [1.12.2 v0.9]

Playing this back on 1.8.9 (waiting to see if other mods update) and I can say with certainty this is a fantastic mod. Excellent execution, fantastic features, even back multiple updates ago it feels smooth and well polished. The variety of options, the fact that it's built to incorporate multiplayer (as opposed to mods that simply ignore player interaction) and the fact that even with the guide book there are things you /have/ to learn for yourself... it's all beautifully executed. So I'm stopping in to say, thank you Razmen!

I wish - no time to make one, though! :P

ZSS doesn't exactly depend on anything - Antique Atlas and M&B were supported while they were current, but if they haven't updated then I will simply remove support for them from the code.

Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to set up a workspace and poke around a little, maybe see if I can scrape my code off my old hard drive. I've got a 4-month old kid, though, so who knows how much I'll manage.

Both are updated to 1.8.9 (I use Atlas), but I'm not sure about 1.9+

Considering Minecraft made dual-wield standard, I'm assuming M&B might have continued as just the extra addons (shields and such) and thus wouldn't need support.

Just looked, Atlas stopped at 1.9.4 currently.

hey so is the mods latest version for 1.8? or is there a version available for 1.11/1.11.2?

1.8, community is working on 1.8.9, 1.11 I don't believe has been discussed (though I think 1.10 was).
