    Easy there. I was not lying. Or i was not intending to lie in any way. I believed i was being fully truthful with my own experiences.


    I play with 40 other mods, big ones, and other than any direct bugs or issues that you can simply avoid until fixed, AM2 has worked perfectly fine for me. AM2 has never crashed me for random reasons that i didnt see what i did exactly to cause it. Unlike a few of my other mods, where im just walking down a hall of my house, and bam, i crash.


    I feel AM2 is quite stable for what it does. AM2 adds things and variables to Minecraft unlike any other mod.


    But to answer Kane_Hart, it is more than playable compared to many others and is a blast. My favorite mod, hands down.

    Very much so. The mod has been around for a long time. The mods creator is just in the process of handing over the reins to another for future development.


    You should give AM2 a try. You wont be disappointed.

    If you want to cheat for a moment and switch to creative mode, the ship clipboard will do what you want, but that won't work in survival mode.


    Ive never tried it with ships, but way back when, i could move Archimedes ships through Mystcraft portals to take it to other worlds with a little finagling.


    So it may already be possible with the Myst portals.

    Just as a thought, you could always do something as simple as a "steam engine" block. a re-textured furnace the "smelts" water buckets. Then you just move forward. It would be super simple to start, but that way you can get the concept out there instead. that way, the airships are released and any problems or bugs could be squashed as they come, instead of trying to release a huge propulsion update, then airships on top of that.

    This is a fantastic concept. Something like this could help Ships grow very quickly. Like having other modders work on different particulars of Ships that can work as addons, or Cuchaz could add them to ships permanently,

    You dont put a keystone in a Keystone receptacle. Shift right click the block with an empty hand to open it and place a rune combination inside. Whenever you click another gateway with a Keystone that has the same combination, you will be taken to the gate with the Keystones combo.

    This is definitely the Ships mod to watch. It is probably the best i have ever used. As well as Airships, the mighty Cuchaz has plans for submarines.

    Awesome! Thanks Cuchaz. It doesnt seem to be much of a problem when using an external server, as i have joined several servers that used Ships in the past and no one complained about lag other than the norm. Just when the basic LAN connection is used through minecraft.

    I have 24. Counting cores, plugins and addons. This happens while im in a LAN game with my brothers. They are actually the ones experiencing the issues. I am perfectly fine. No problems on my end at all. Save for Lily pads stopping my boat dead in its tracks.

    Its a small ship, just barely over 300 blocks. But when i launch and try to sail it, my brothers and my dad's game lock up. They have massive lag spikes. They have difficulty riding on the ship, and its only worse when they are off of it. My dad and brother could see me running across displaced water while the ship was nearly 50 blocks away sitting normally. While on my end, i was sailing just fine, and bringing the ship over to them. i have a strong computer, and theirs aren't poor machines. When the ship is docked, everything is perfectly fine.

    So, a quick question to everyone, has anyone experienced issues in multiplayer with Ships?



    I just wanted to see before i make an issue of it. I have been playing LAN with some family and Ships is practically unusable. Its the first time we have actually tried using ships in LAN before, so i just wanted to see if anyone else had similar problems.

    Holy Cow! A hundred mods? Like one hundred individual mods? or one hundred counting all of the additional files? Because i use 21 actual mods (half of them simple and minor) and minecraft counts 51 on startup from all of the additional files and what not.

    If you have that many mods, then i would be inclined to think that that is your problem. So many mods are making it hard for you to keep up, and riding on a ship is somewhat demanding of a process. Ive had to cut down on the number i have had before because when i played with my brother he would suffer bad lag spikes just from the number of mods alone.

    Or in the least, one of them in there somewhere is conflicting with ships in a way to cause you to do that.

    Oh, right. Water in Minecraft doesn't really fill holes. It just flows into them. I guess those mechanics would make a dry dock impossible. Maybe there's a mod out there that implements a lock system. That might let you implement a dry dock.

    The only thing i can think of off the top of my head is Thaumcraft's Arcane spa. Its a single block filled with water, and upon activation can fill a 1x5x5 area with water.

    True. But then why would the book and the leg still be in the mod? as well as the Compendium entries? I dunno. Id like to think Mithion has one last surprise for us, but i may just be over hopeful.

    Does anyone know if the gates work across dimensions?



    It would be a much cleaner and organized to have a room of gates linked to dimensions. Like the Nether, Hardcore End, and Twilight Forest. Instead of trying to get an obsidian portal and Twilight pool to stay right where you want them and look nice sitting next to each other.
