I remember an interesting puzzle from Runescape. There was a grid of pressure plates, and each pressure plate was one of four different colors: red, blue, yellow, and green. Stepping on a red pressure plate would cause all the blue and green squares to rise up so you can't cross them, but left the yellow squares alone. This meant that if you on a red square, you could only go to yellow squares, and if you were on a yellow square, you could only go to green squares, and so on. You had to cross this grid, which was effectively a maze, to continue.
On the topic of pressure plates, a good way to make them more realistic is to make them undetectable. Use command blocks to detect when a player is in a specific place, then replace the sandstone they are standing on with a sandstone slab, making it look like it sunk into the ground. After a small delay, a trap is triggered.
Thank you for the ideas. I have an idea in my head of how to build the Runescape puzzle with command block, so I will definatly be adding it into the map. As for the trap, I will probably add that every once in a while too.
I'm currently working on a map in which a player has to make his/her way through an underground dungeon. The dungeon has an ancient Egyptian theme to it. Does anyone have any good ideas for puzzles? I just want some out of the ordinary ideas that would stand out. Don't take into consideration the level of difficulty it would take to build the puzzle, if you have an idea just put it here.
So I've been making a map in the 1.8 snapshots and everything seemed to be lag free and working fine.
Then the snapshot 14w29a was released and the whole map got horribly laggy. The FPS was fine and stayed at about 30-40, however when I broke blocks it made these ghost blocks that I could see but couldn't interact with. Also when I placed blocks it would take a couple seconds before the textures actually appeared. When I use redstone repeaters, the delay takes much longer than usual, and my redstone clocks are not working right as well.
My computer is usually able to hand things like this. Ever since 14w29a is couldn't. It also only seems to be this one world on my computer, other ones work perfectly fine.
Does anyone know what my problem is or does anyone have the same problem?

I am trying to make a clock using the /fill command.
fill ~-1 ~ ~ ~-9 ~ ~ redstone_block
fill ~1 ~ ~ ~9 ~ ~ air
I saw SethBling use this in one of his videos and when I downloaded the map I noticed I used the same commands and everything. When I power the command that fills in the redstone blocks it just powers the other command block and that turns it back to air. However his clock was working. Is there something I have to do to get it started?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum.

This is what I did and the entity with that name Towns Man next to the command block is not killed

When I tried that the output was:

Is this possible in the new snapshot? If so, what would the command be?
