I REALLY hate to necrobump this thread. But I'm confirming that this seed still works in 1.1.

As in still have the big gaping hole? No. That is replaced by a shallow pond in the swamp.

    challenge!
    no inv edit
    no hacks
    no peaceful
    no creative
    no kidding :ohmy.gif:

    lava at blacksmith: cobblestone generator!
    saplings: lots a wood!
slimes: insanity! (No kidding, they will drive you insane.)

It would seem beds do set a spawn point so you can stay at the same spot if you die after having slept in a bed.

    So this challenge: possible!

This is dang awesome. One thing to watch out for, since slimes move by jumping, they will trample the crops. Protect the farmland!

    Now I feel less special

Unless it is a non-slime chunk. It's all a roll of the dice. However, finding a village where slimes can spawn doesn't happen every day!

It is cool. Though the height cannot be 105m from water surface unless you use height mod.

No mods. I play only vanilla, myself. I do try out the occasional texture pack now and then, though.

Yeah, I love it. It's now exactly like 1.7.3 except bigger biomes. Now I wish Jeb would bring back snowy mountains.

I know one thing for sure, any armor doesn't stop cave spiders from killing you.

    Gawd I hate those things.

Found this lonely mountain while strolling a world in 1.1. Tops off at about 105m. Awesome view all around with forest nearby for wood and animal resources! All the info's on the screen cap.

posted a message on MUSHROOM SEEEEEED!!!! EPIC!!!!!!!!!!
    Quote from KajTaotsu

Just tried this seed, and while I got the same type of biomes, it isn't the same exact land layout, so I'm wondering if that stronghold is still down there :C
And my spawn point was right next to the mushroom biome compared to being a bit more into the pine biome.

With 1.1, there are further tweaks done to frequency of biomes, so it is going to affect seeds again, unfortunately.
Edit: I just tried the seed, myself, on creative. Using Eyes of Ender, I found the nearest stronghold was much further away and further underground. It was larger but the libraries were being torched by the lava springs. Playing this seed legitimately, you wouldn't find much left over except for a complete endportal chamber. (One of the library chests had a compass. First time finding something that wasn't a book or paper.)

posted a message on Snow Man in Minecraft?
Seriously, people? We have a new friend here and all you can do is throw sarcasm and demeaning comments? You people make me sick. When was the last time you tried to do something without going to the forums or wiki first? Discovering something for yourself is very enriching and adds to the fun. I respect this person, and I hope he does decide to get the game regardless of your immaturity.
    Quote from BXGeeMachinima

YES! I don't have minecraft but my friend and I were playing on his minecraft and messing around in creative mode we were making a Ice Kingdom and we started with the entrance. We stacked 2 snow block on top of each other and put an Jack-O-Lantern on the top then all of a sudden a Snow Man popped out i turns out it can defend you from mobs by throwing snow balls at them and when they walk they leave a trail of snow behind them. You should Try it out for yourself enjoy your minecraft!

I am jealous at your accidental discovery. These days I barely get a chance at trying to craft something new before someone's already spoiled how to do it.

I TOTALLY DIDN'T KNOW THIS ALREADY.
    ;_;

Not to be rude, but there's a reason we have a Wiki . . . and a reason we have Google.
And a reason we have Youtube.
And a reason we have the internet itself.

You are being rude and ignorant by criticizing this person for his own ignorance. A person shouldn't have to go on the internet to find out everything about Minecraft. When was the last time you tried to craft a new item without going on the wiki or the forums?

posted a message on One thing that still needs to be fixed
Magma cubes drop nothing but experience orbs. Slimes spawn in specific chunks only. Spawn-specific chunks are still quite frequent. Best tactic might be digging down to 40m and below, and then dig tunnels at least 48 meters long in each direction, and then dig out a large room if you haven't come across any ravines or caverns by then. The odds will be in your favor then of finding slime chunks.
    Quote from Lonestarr01

I took your advice and downloaded the minimap mod and I can now see which chunks are slime chunks. I've made three rooms at layer 24, all in different slime chunks, all 5 layers high. Let the game run for an hour and a half (while i was building :tongue.gif:) and still no slimes have spawned...

I beginning to think Slimes just dont like me :sad.gif:

Since slimes can spawn in any degree of light and darkness, it may be possible they are spawning in any neighboring lavapool caverns and getting fizzled. So it might be your slimes are having really crappy luck.
