Built this PC a week or so ago and can run every game at a steady 60 fps except...
Decided "Hey, lets start up some Minecraft again just for some lolz." FPS rarely stayed above 40, usually stuck in the 15-20 range. Like WTF??? On an NVIDIA GTX 780 ti??? Apparently it's a rare(?) issue with the 700 series cards and Minecraft though.
ANYWAY: Installed Optifine and it's staying 700+ (seven hundred). 'course I put on the vsync option so it's at a constant 60 FPS no matter what I do. Hell. Yeah.
Now I'm tempted to mess with these options I never bothered touching on my old PC lol
Man the stuff this community chooses to get miffed at is ridiculous.
I have to assume the people "against" this are trolling... right? Riiiight????
Food is not hard enough to come by that "balance" could ever possibly be considered as a real argument. If you believe it makes things that "ezmode" then maybe you should control your urge to kill for food and just... not kill sheep for food. Meanwhile the rest of us shall carry on.
Why are old mods being replaced? Sadface is sad because people are trying to replace best mods that are WIP or still being worked on, abandoned mods should be replaced, no one should create the EE2 OPness of Custom EMC, you know what I would much rather stay on 1.4.7/1.4.X than jump to 1.5.X or 1.6.X because mods take longer and longer to update because of pointless difficulty like the 1.6.X where Forge is too hard to install, seriously now no one is going to update that plays in a semi-modded/heavily-modded game environment unless they are vanilla players, many changes manage to just make things far more ridiculous like the normal golden apples and the skeletons, vanilla is going the wrong way for Minecraft.
To this day I still have no clue why people have problems installing Forge.
Download the Installer for the version you need to use.
Open the installer
Install
Start up the Minecraft Launcher
Click "Edit Profile" for your your Minecraft Profile in the Launcher
Change the "Use Version" thing to the version of Forge you installed
Click Play (so Forge does its thing)
Good to go
As opposed to the shenanigans that you have to go through to install mods manually for those mods which for whatever reason refuse to use Forge or Modloader.... Yeah, Forge install is easy as sitting on the toilet and taking a crap.
It's not hard. It just takes very minimal usage of your brain.
After 5 hours of mining I have 40 essences. Not much. And the recipes have become more expensive.
All in all: I don't want this. No fun.
Using the 1.6.2_3.0.0 beta2 and I'm having this problem as well, to a greater extent. Went on a mining expedition and right now I have a whopping 2 (two) Weak Magic Essence after ~4 hours.
Anyone else having this problem? This was on a completely fresh world that I started after installing the latest (as noted) updated version of the beta, btw.
Edit: Update:
Started a new world and ended up finding more than 20 in the first 10 minutes.
Seems to be a bit too random. I like RNG but I prefer it in my isometric Action RPGs.
Ahh this mod is so great.
I wish I'd run into it sooner. I've always had an issue with minecraft having so little food to make.
This fills that void perfectly.
I also have MrCrayfish's furniture mod though I just ran into that for the first time as well so I dunno what to do in it. Though I do recall seeing someone mention compatilibitiy and it being a little OP-ish.
The only reason i use TMI is for the chunk grid feature. You hit F9 and ingame you can see red lines where teh chunk boundarys are. This feature is priceless when building on multiplayer server! I know it will be a while till Chickenbones updates to 1.6.2 . But is there not another mod that adds these chunk grids into the game? Has anyone seen one or know someone who can write this simple code into a utility mod?
Rei's Minimap lets you view chunk grids in the minimap.
Hello!
I am working on compatibility patches for Millénaire for mods that add Biomes and I am unable to find a list of biomes that this mod adds. Biomes to spawn villages from that mod in are added by Biome name, and the OP does not give me the information I need, nor does a quick search of the topic.
Is this information readily available somewhere and I've missed it? If not, would someone be so kind as to provide it for me?
When the mod's installed, you can:
1. Click Singleplayer
2. Click Create New World
3. Click More World Options...
4. Make sure World Type = Default
5. Click Customize

As well, most colleges amp up the busy schedule during March and April and it only gets busier as time goes by.
He'll release an update when he has time. He doesn't work for us. He works for him. Just as it should be.
