How did you hear about The Sanctuary SMP community? If it's from a friend, who do you already know?: I used to play on this server back in 2019 (I think) - I found it through this forum.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style? Medieval/Nordic style, but I'm open! I like building larger bases, but have found more recently I'm interested in the smaller details.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? I don't like using commands to cheat. I like the grind and sense of accomplishment. But I do also enjoy working with others to achieve more faster.
How would you describe your ideal community/server? A place where people can interact and have fun together, whilst also being able to help each other and accomplish more together. A welcoming environment for all types of players.
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? I used to play on quite a few different servers. Mainly smaller communities where everyone knew each other.
Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy? I love music, reading and playing football.

Are you familiar with Discord?: Yes, I've used it before for Minecraft servers and other gaming communities.

Why are you excited to join our vanilla Minecraft server, and what are you most pumped about in 1.14?: It's been a while since I've really gotten back into Minecraft. I've owned the game since sometime in 2011 and for many years was an active player. However in previous years I haven't always had the time/interest in the game. I've always kept up to date with the new updates and after all the new features in 1.13 and 1.14 I'm excited to play them again. I thought about playing single-player, but decided it would be much more enjoyable on a server. It means you can work on bigger projects as well as engage with others over a shared enjoyment for this game. To answer the second part, I'm excited to play with the new villager mechanics. It's a long overdue update for them and I'm very much looking forward to playing with them.

Tell us a little about yourself: I believe I used to be a member of this community (for what was a brief time), but decided to leave as I wasn't motivated anymore and also had a lot of other things going on in my life at the time. I like to talk the other members whilst playing to create a more friendly atmosphere. Over the years I've played on many servers and some of my favourite memories from them haven't been the things I've made, but the friendships I've created! The amazing interactions I've had with other people just don't compare.

How did you find out about The Sanctuary?: Browsing the forums, your post stuck out more than the rest.

Are you familiar with Discord?: I use it fairly often for gaming communities and/or talking to closer friends to play games with. I'm incredibly glad people don't use Skype anymore!

What drew you to The Sanctuary and why are you excited to join?: Your post was a lot more professional than most on here. I'm not fussed about having an 18+ community, but that does tend to make the server a bit more friendly and welcoming. It probably means less chance of grieifing for instance, but you can never be too sure.

Tell us a little about yourself: I have been playing minecraft since beta 1.8(ish) and have stuck around since for the most part. I have also found that multiplayer is far more enjoyable than on my own due to the amount of friendships I have made during this time. I like to be as friendly as I can, but also enjoy having a laugh with other players. I will try and stay committed to the server and look forward to hearing your response.

2. What is your experience with the game? I have been playing for over 6 years, since the end of 2011. In that time I have taken some breaks, mostly in the past 2-3 years, but have still kept very much up to date with the changes and new features. I have also been an avid follower of Xisumavoid since the end of the 1st season of Hermitcraft. I have played on many servers, but more recently delved into the traditional SMP as it offers more challenges. Before this I had enjoyed plugin-oriented servers with plugins such as 'factions' and 'towny' being the main feature. This soon got boring and I felt inspired by many of the Hermitcaft members to be more creative and embrace the real features of vanilla Minecraft.
3. What is your favorite part of SMP servers? My favourite part would have to be the community aspect to the game. I can't number how many friends I have made over the years playing Minecraft. I hope to do the same here if I am accepted. I also love creating new types of bases with all sorts of features, either by myself or with others. I also love the challenge. For several years I was heavily aided by plugins, which although do have their benefits, they have tended to make the game very simple and less rewarding in the long term.
4. Why do you want to join Eagletaria? The post you created for the server seemed very professional and not just thrown together in an attempt to gain responses. It's been a while since I've been part of a friendly and committed server but hopefully this is the place for me. I've seen many servers that are created for the wrong reasons. Such as trying to create a profit rather than rewarding the players with a community they could be proud of. Furthermore, I try to be friendly and helpful to other players, so I hope that I can bring these attributes to the server. I will respect whatever response you will give me, but hope that I am accepted.

P.s Forests are cool

You could always look on the forums for new servers with a new map, chances are they still haven't killed the dragon.

I like the way villagers are at the moment. There's no need to enslave them.

I joined in the beta days... Wow that went quick.

I have to agree with the other comments. There isn't a set way to play minecraft survival. I mean if you want to make a help guide for new players then that's okay, but make it less structured, there are multiple ways of doing things.

Just go to your folders, type in %appdata%, go to .minecraft, go to saves, and then copy paste that save as a backup and put it wherever you want.

Then once you are ready to test 1.9, you can just replace the save and go back to 1.8 to dragon proof or whatever you want.

I agree with @Lightwavers, it would be much simpler to create a backup and just wait and see.
