I hope this doesn't get abandoned, as this is an amazing mod. I hope that this will become as big as the lord of the rings mod one day. In other words, good luck and may you learn quickly
Sadly where my old laptop died I've lost all of the mod files so if I wanted to come back to this I'd have to redo everything
I have now found somebody with a good idea.
It is quite and easy thing to implement as well.
Swordplay!
Parry attacks and attack yourself!
Unfortunately, all our 3 people to turn to when looking for coders are ... missing in action.
Would you be interested?
Unfortunately I can't do any more modding at all anymore, my laptop died and I got a new one so I don't have any of the right programs anymore to do it; I also don't have much time to do it either, sorry. Good luck on finding a coder though, the idea sounds awesome!
I apparently am a skilled pixel pusher though, meaning no need for an extra artist, but I'd say any coder is (at least during the next month) better than I am!
Coders and artist are there not at all, while the ideas just keep on coming. Some are good and get the recognition they deserve. Others not, but still get some coders.
Yeah, there are so many people with good ideas who just don't have coders
Ya know.
I am not sure wether I will be able to pull it off.
At least not alone.
What I would need is somebody with time on their hands, coding skills and not too much creativity (or else they might be able to make a mod of their own) to help me.
Or somebody to teach me. I am not sure how far the tutorials will take me and how much competence it will deliver.
But when I look at some of the mods out there I can only think: "If people stupid enough to think that this is worth modding, can create a mod, then I can make one too".
A bit like with driving cars.
Ya know.

Coders willing to help others seem scarce these days, I see lots of in development mods that are looking for coders, but I never see any coders looking for mods..
It may take a while for you to find someone, but I'm sure you eventually will
PLZ Cuntinu on this mod it is auwsom And I Dont Want It To End Up Like All The Uther Ones!!!!!!!!!!!
At the moment I don't have any time to work on it, but if another coder offers to take on the project I'd be happy to send them the code, models, textures etc.
Short version: How would I add more parrot varieties to my resource pack without having to edit the old ones?
Long version: I would like to add more textures for parrots so that I can have other birds like crows in my game, but I don't want to have to retexture and therefore lose any of the old textures. I have heard that you can add randomized textures using optifine and I've even attempted to follow a tutorial to do it, but to no avail. Does anyone know how I would do this?
If I ever continue, it would be nice to have translations, thank you. As for the dragons, I was planning on having wild ones in the world, and some way to obtain an egg to become a rider yourself, but I hadn't thought about what I was going to do with adding other riders.. The main problem for me is that when I was working on the mod I had just learnt to code, so I was using tutorials to learn how to code things, so I have no idea how to code mobs and at the moment I just don't have the motivation to learn. Maybe some day I will come back to this, who knows
Err, I broke the quote?
With that attitude there will not be much. I know. I had that
On this note: How can one create their own thread?
To the problem: A dragon is actually a person and programming an AI that mimicks a person is ... hard. There is a reason the villagers were called testificates at the beginning.
I ... got into the beginning of coding myself. Making a simple calculation takes muuuuuuuch longer than I had thought.
With that much needed time I am speachless that there are so many people writing mods out there.
Yeah, massive mods must take ages to make, it is surprising that there are mods that eve update weekly.
Plus, I really hope you are not planning on making the Player be able to become a rider themselves. Just like in the Inheritance Cycle.
That would not work the way it is displayed. Wild Dragons: Not a problem in sight.
Magic: Difficult with the language but doable. Especially with the language actually existing, having grammar and the such. Would even wager that it is not the most complex language but still complex enough to do noob-mistakes if you are not versed in the grammar.
The mod would have to chronologically play somewhen long after Eragon and the dragons are now wild again and have spread all over the world.
Due to the actual end of the Minecraft World it is even possible that this mod makes you play on the same planet. Considering that the plate of the planet you would move on is 10x as big as our earth that would mean that Alagaësia is but a very small patch of land on a giant planet.
But with you being fed up with coding...
Ya know, I could translate it into German. Have seen only very view mods that are across more than one language.

Edit: The one that explained it meant not much to me even though I read it beforehand and then abandoned the rest ^^
Never heared of the Mod you loved. Just know that it means "Dragonrider" (or however the rider of a dragon is called in the original language of the book) in the Old Speach.
(Please do refrain from saying "Ya stupid?! It is called ... " because I read only the localised version of the books)
The mod is based entirely on the Inheritance Cycle, so if you have read the books everything should make sense. I am pretty much giving up minecraft modding at the moment so there probably won't be any more updates unless I get the motivation to continue

Yeah, hopefully one of them gets some free time to help you out

Yeah, I had loads of bugs when I was modding, haha.
I wish you luck in your bug fixing

I used these tutorials by MrCrayfish on YouTube to start out: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy11IosblXIH-OIKa5yYs-KEA2LCohV8g
Let me know how it goes, good luck!

Sounds interesting! I've never seen or heard of Soul Eater before, I'll have to research it

I'm guessing you can make threads now, or do you still need help?

The download link is right under the image that explains the mod (or for ease of access, here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/file/w22bl3qol5d7osq/Alagaesia_Mod-0.3.jar
