Well i went onto my world, checked this out and it seems like where you have your levers wouldn't allow the pistons to push the blocks.

Solution? Put your levers somewhere else and rewire it

Hmm, wouldn't a compact TFF work almost instantly but with a little stall in between?

Well maybe running you'r minecraft server off a desktop/mac then you can go mobile. Also if you'r minecraft is lagging you may not have enough RAM to run it.
