I am currently having this same problem, my minecraft will freeze up and shortly disconnect after trying to attack hostile mobs. It's only been since i updated to 1.8.3 that it is happening. It will sometimes let me play for a short while if i'm not out fighting, but eventually it comes back with the same problem. (Cannot verify if it's wired problem, i have no wifi for my PC.)
Ok, So i have a couple of mods that add new content into my game (I.E; new plants/trees/backpacks), they work fine and dandy and what not. Then i installed a texture pack to make it all pretty, but now i've found that all the 'mod items' images are just blank. The items are still all there, they're just missing their icons. The new trees/plants i have added show up fine when planted, it's just in my inventory i can't see them. I assume this is the texture pack overriding them. Any suggestions on what i could do to have both? I love having new items, but the texture pack i have found is amazing. Would love to have both at once.

Took a while to get right and ran into a lot of lava and one nasty creeper. :dry.gif:
But once i walked away from my room on hard mode and came back within two minutes, had a large slime bouncing around. Even had a tiny one climb up the ladder. Hahaha. Great help. Thanks!
