I bought a second account just for the hell of it while they are still cheap. I've offered use of it too a couple friends, but I'm to greedy to gift it out yet.
if you put a block on the opposite side you want it to face it'll auto turn. I'm not sure what side it prefers more when its out in the open so i don't know any other fixes than this.
all of those names are probably referenced a billion times in the script. you cant just copy pasta something and expect it to work. that's why it takes so much work to get these things stable.
The day that we are able to build ships like this or like others, and actualy be able to sail them in our infinite randomly generated oceans. Doing pirate battle with or SMP rivals, and theiving treasure from the military ships. That is the day this game is named the greatest game of all time...
...in short, i really hope we get floating blocks someday.... :iapprove:??
In practice you will often want to dig a few one-deep holes to prevent flooding areas around your temporary tower.
If you place torches on the side of one of the sand tower blocks, you can place sand on those torches. Repeat, and you get a 45-degree staircase that will also collapse when the bottom torch (the "trigger") is washed out.
that's a smart idea. but would be agonizingly slow to do... that's the only problem
i think if we had animals that could be used for supplies and could possibly be tamed for tools it would fit much more into the minecraft world than pets that could be used as attack animals or war mounts. this isnt a game about war. yes we can fight in it, but its more about survival and crafting then anything.
but on topic. penguins would be awesome. pretty much anything that adds some more life to the environment is a good thing. i get kind of sick of seeing cows
Don't add the fail 'MMORPG Pet System' into minecraft. If you do, I will die.
it doesn't have to be that in depth. but beast mastery has been an important part of human history since like forever. we wouldn't have half the technology that we do now if it hadn't of started there. its only natural for this game to take a couple steps in that direction.
This is a great idea. We have these amazing environments already. The only real thing missing imo is wildlife to make them feel more natural. I wanna see fish and whales when i make underwater windows. and see birds flying around and landing on my lighthouses, and having pets would be awesome. They wouldn't need any real use, maybe pack animals or something would be nice, but I'd just like to have something following me in the caves that i don't have to worry about killing me for once.
I love alot of the idea's already mentioned so far, but IMO with the random map generator and how beautiful of maps its starting to be able to create. Vehicles are just BEGGING to be brought into the game. I'de personally be happy with some sort of buoyant block type. you could actually build a boat of whatever sort of shape that was being held up in the water by the floating blocks. This could be powered by sitting in a captains seat or standing at a helm block or something. So we could actually build pirate ships and sail the oceans.
Also some sort of airplane or glider or something needs to be brought in as well. I'de love to have a personal flying craft with a decent amount of speed to be able to fly around the huge maps. Then you could land on top of your personal Yacht and be on your way. Completely mobile bases could be possible.
Ide be happy with a basic minecrafty airplane. We already have near infinite map space. I just want the flying part, I dont need the different planets part.

And how would you turn a world made up of perfectly aligning blocks into a sphere, exactly?
Ah, yes, it goes on "forever", each world... You'd have to introduce a fixed planet size... that would suck. D:
You COULD (this is just theory, the above text is my realy opinion on this question) just use a representation of the planet, maybe using base variables to effect the planets look (like how much water and how much snow ..etc) and just "pop in" to the actual map when you get in close enough. Similar things have already been done in games like SPORE and such.
exact same thing happend to me. its because you started in a tundra biome. apparently this game is realistic enough to not put tundra and deserts right next to each other. just make sure you got enough cactus to build the wood generator and save some to grow incase you need more.

Its not really a meme. More like lore. IMO
