Just show them the newegg tutorial on youtube.
The PCPartPicker tutorials are both recent and nice as well, if unrealistic with the budget. They're much more concise too.

If you wanna spend that much then go to Office Depot and get an i7 Toshiba Laptop with Turbo Speed on it or something. It's a really good laptop and doesn't even cost $700. I have a Lenovo desktop myself but my mother has the Toshiba laptop and it's extremely fast.
    Don't know, don't post.

You also have the option of joining the PC Gaming Master Race for the same price. We're regularly rewarded with steep game discounts (We got a Civ V Gold, Civ IV GOTY, and XCOM bundle for $20 two days ago. We also got Borderlands 2 + Season Pass for $12 a week ago), better graphics, PC exclusives & indie games (The Witcher, Civilization, Cubeworld, Super Hexagon, etc), and we can use mice & keyboards as well as controllers.

    And Steam is amazing.

If you still wish to go console, get a PS4. It's both cheaper and Sony is better about valuing their consumers' opinions. PS+ is also waaaay better than XBL Gold.

How dense must somebody be to not back up their work or leave any trace of where to find it? This is clearly a shoddy cover-up of the fact that you have no substantial previous works or proof of your understanding of programming.

    Quote from MacModder

It goes like this. One of the ways, anyway. For example:

    1. Guy posts pic of a trollface on the internet Thus he has it somewhere locally
    2. Some other guy posts a similar pic of a trollface on the internet Which doesn't alter the local copy, backups, or the methods used to find it
    3. Million other guys post a similar pics of a trollface on the internet See above
    4. Original post from 1 cannot be found anymore, thus LOST Perhaps saving those imgur links or making an account would be a good idea after all, no? There are so many tools to "find" things on the internet, it's silly. I can find posts I've made in 2008 and images I've posted from before that time period, easily. If somebody is this disorganized, how does that reflect their ability to keep code looking proper? How about storing builds properly? Managing a team? Giving his employees a salary? How about health benefits?

    or

    1. Someone posts a mc mod
    2. it never gets popular
    3. other people post their mods which keep people from finding that mod [Username] > My Posts > Topics > Link > Download, and/or find the local copy, which he should have backed up

Anyway, this is not what the thread is about. It is about asking someone for help on game development. It's also about his competence as a project leader, which, shown by his examples, is nonexistent.

Local private ads are the best way to go as for price for used stuff, if you can find someone selling the exact parts you're looking for.
Beware of the douches trying to pawn off a fried chip as new. Happened to a friend. I'd recommend just buying new.

OP, if you're willing to take some risks with rebates, this is as powerful as it gets for $600. Overclock the hell out of the 750k if there's a bottleneck. It has the equivalent of a 4300 and 7870 GHz, you just need to do a bit of overclocking. The case isn't too offensive either.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($79.99 @ Amazon)

posted a message on Is this computer good for minecraft?
    Quote from karlzhao314

    lol. Did that actually happen?
Yep. Slipped out of the plastic thing. Did two flips, landed on its corner then on its heat spreader. I also used mayonnaise until I got my AS5 because I didn't have isopropyl alcohol to wipe off the CM thermal paste.

My 24pin is also seemingly permanently attached to my motherboard. I haven't been able to detach it since I did my first external build, so I just shoved it there in my case and secured it to my panel with some sticky tack.

And I also have my SSD hanging from its wire secured to the bottom of my case by a paperclip

I'm surprised this thing hasn't exploded yet.

    Quote from Khoury

Stop telling the person to build their own computer if they don't have the time or wants to learn to build one.
Yes that is alright for playing Minecraft, but if you want to upgrade the graphics card you can't.
Also, upgrading the RAM is helpful if you still want other programs open while running Minecraft, but 4GB is okay if you don't need that.
No. No. No. There is no learning curve. The hardest part is CM and not dropping stuff. I'm certain he could set aside two hours to save $200 on a build. That's like working for $100/hour. I'd kill for that.
