I do think a cave update is a good idea, just not in some of the ways you're proposing.
I do agree that making the underground bigger is a great idea. However, I think that no matter what, diamond should stay at Y 16 and below. I also think that iron should generate anywhere from our current Y 30ish to about our Y -10, and then not generate any more (as to not clog up the new space with iron instead of new ores).
I am down for pretty much any type of ore imaginable, as long at least one of them has a special use beside tools and armor. I also don't want too many more ores, but also enough to be worthy of a full update status. Maybe 3 or 4 new ones. I think diamond should stay strongest, a new ore between iron and diamond is added, iron is third best, and two or three new ores are worse than iron.
I think cave biomes and new cave mobs are a great idea, but i think dungeons and abandoned mineshafts are fine for now,.
Overall I agree with you, I just think that diamond should stay at current Y 10 when worse ores generate below it, and that structures don't need to be updated just yet.
I've seen a lot of fighting over which music disc is the best, and I think we should put an end to it. Comment your thoughts here and vote in the poll to best reflect the community's thoughts about the wonderful tracks by C418.
So I decided to try to make a skin from scratch, y'know, editing it into a 64x64 image and such. But when I rendered it into the launcher to see if anything mismatched, it was all white! If anyone knows how to fix this can you help me? My skin is down below (A rough draft anyway).
Alright, I'm going to get straight to the point. I have no idea what JavaScript is or how to use it. The most "coder-y" thing I've ever done was change an amidst biome color in a JSON file. I have no idea how to code. I was looking through the forum and I read about how pdx7's seed geneator could scan over 1 million seeds in 5 minutes. I have an automatic seed generator that is about 7x slower than using ctrl+r. Can someone, anyone, familiar with any type of Java or Python help make, or at least find, a seed generator that is more efficient than banging my head against the wall?
Why do people complain about it? It's not like typing a 19 digit number from an image is a months long ordeal involving cryptography and supercomputers.
Do you mean to figure out what a world will look like on small biome size? To do this you can go to amidst or any other biome renderer and for small biomes, cut off anything past 1728 blocks from 0,0 and divide coords by 4, for medium, cut off anything past 864 blocks from 0,0 and divide coords by 2, and for large biomes, cut off anything past 432 blocks from 0,0 and don't divide. ALSO NOTE THAT MUSHROOM BIOMES MAY BE WRONG AND SOME LANDMASSES MAY BE UNDERWATER!!!
Thanks for all of the positive replies. You know what is really weird? I found the seed while looking for mushroom biomes, not any special landforms. I saw one at spawn and zoomed out and I saw the continents.
So what if he is complaining? It's his opinion whether or not he thinks the 1.9 update was bad or not. It is, however, not your place to insult him for that.

Thanks! I seriously have no idea how to code at all.

Seed: "2195628"
This is a really large savanna plateau M, and it is only one mountain. Weird, huh?

Hey guys! I was inspired by @BottleRocketBosley, who is searching for Modified Jungle Edge biomes. Well, on only 3rd try on amidst, I got this seed:
"-7163162793630968498". I know it's nowhere near as close as Bosley has found, but it's a start.

Make sure you have classic world size, large biomes, and good biome mix ticked off.
mushroom island is in northeast, snowy biome, igloo, trees, and pumpkins in southeast.
Both shipwrecks peak out of the water. the first one is by the north side of the huge lake.
the second in in the middle-west of the ocean. the huge lake is in the mushroom fields.
Coral reef east of mushroom fields. Igloo in southeast has basement. sorry for no coords
Happy minecrafting!

Well then, you can still find the rarity of the new oceans
