I finally built myself a gaming computer and installed a 512x texture pack that sticks to the basic theme and shader / water mods. this is the result. I'll probably upload pictures of all of my builds like this now.
So here's some more progress, i'll work on the yellow house after i'm done with the brick one. I think it needs a lot of work. It looks too small in comparison so I'll probably scale it up a bit.
Here's some more houses I started making out of boredome. I'm not sure If i'll use them on my zombie survival map yet though. I might just finish them and upload to planetminecraft. what does everyone think? only the front of the houses are finished...
I'm making a map for a zombie survival server. So far I only have the area for the neighborhood and beach. It's all on one big island so it's contained. Eventually It will have a whole town, the town buildings are going to be on the other side of the mountain from the town connected by a tunnel. The map will be dense with trees too to try and keep people from wandering off into empty areas. here's what I have so far:
suggestions or feedback ? I've never made a Zombie Survival map before but I want it to really feel like a town, not some cramped streets with towers built quickly with no character..

It usually consumes most of my time because I like to build vanilla with no creative. I'm 19 and working on a career in criminal law and I have skype/vent. Very mature and I get along with just about everyone. Hope I get accepted! your server sounds great

Yep! I don't use any texture packs or shaders. I hate building with a texture pack because the end result may look great for me but everyone else who doesn't have the pack may think it looks bad. With the default pack everyone is getting the same view.
Unfortunately the interior is empty, I'm bad at interiors and they are never on par with the exterior so I just leave them empty for someone else to make their own.

Awesome city! I've been looking for projects like this to join and i'm sure you get people looking to help all day long but I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look at some of my work and if anything, take some of the schematic files so you can use them in your city. I can build pretty much anything but I'm best at large houses and skyscrapers.

Just find a real house and use it to inspire you! you'll be surprised with the results!
