Why you should join : My three friends and I enjoy minecraft, enjoy the survival experience, and are looking for a nice place to build, build, build!
How long have you played Minecraft? : I have played single-player for several months now, but have little experience with multiplayer.
Don't forget to read the rules!
Complaining this early, before the full materials for lanterns are released, seems.....silly.
Now, if Notch gives details, and lanterns cost 64 lightstone blocks (or something) PER LANTERN, then, I agree, it would be a tad outrageous.
Honestly, it is as if Notch is making our current torches more difficult to make, then give us a temporary lightsource to tide us over until we can make the permanent lights.
As someone who frequently restarts new games (i delete a file if I die three times), I look forward to this temporary light source (new torches) for early game--especially when your 10min long nights are filled with sitting and doing nothing, when you are first starting out. it gives one more thing to do, one more thing to micromanage. I enjoy it, and I feel it will give the game a more progressive flow.
However, if lantern costs are ridiculous, I may change my mind.
Since discovering a mineral rich cavern in a deep section of my mine, and the abundance of creepers and skeletons that inhabit it, I've been wanting to make a "train" out of minecarts, to push a "chestcart" to and from the dig site.
= Furnace Cart = Chest Cart = Furnace Cart.
My train is set up like so:
:Furnace:- -
My delimna: There is a fairly sharp turn + incline toward the bottom of the track, then another turn immeadiently after the incline. (Incline is one block high). At this point, the Chest Cart get's pushed through the Furnace Cart, to be in front.
This is not a major issue, but I would like to keep my train intact, so i only need put fuel in the opposite cart to go the opposite direction.
The sound was working just fine, then stopped in the middle of play. Reloading the game and restarting the computer didn't help, and other programs with sound work just fine.
I've been playing Survival Classic for awhile, to try to get used to how Minecraft works until I can save up the money to buy the full version. With my exceptional hands-on research skills, I've concluded that I do not know what in the world I'm doing.
I'm here to query you, yes you, the veteran player, to give me, Runnerman, some newbie tips for this mode (and this mode only. I don't need tips on crafting, because you can't do that stuff in Survival).
No bit of knowledge to trivial, I will osmose and learn from them all.

Now I just need to design a reload system so one is always waiting for the chest cart.
Thanks for the help!
