I see the dilemma. Well, just from my perspective, I wouldn't prioritize the individual player heads on radar too highly. My only reasoning for this is that other mods have a similar/identical functionality, and what really sets Radarbro apart is the ability to map items as well as important blocks. My main point is that, if a release has to come out without the player's head texture, I wouldn't stress over it being sorted out later. If it's less of a headache that way, certainly use the generic texture. No worries there.

WOW you don't know where the op is??? Since I feel like being nice: The "OP" is the original post and is at the beginning of the thread.

No, OP means original poster. The user you quoted was referring to the mod creator and you most definitely were not being "nice" whether you felt like it or not. Anyhow, yes, when is this mod going to get more attention? That's a valid question. That's anyone's guess. I imagine Shadow is planning to continue work on this mod as he said so in his latest posts, but that he needed time to get back on his feet. I don't see him abandoning this project altogether. This mod was awesome, as it gave people an alternative towards hacked clients if this was all that they wanted. It seems hacked clients have all of their mods on 'lockdown' and it really sucks, so if we can just get one or two things to become standalone mods, how rad would that be? Pretty rad. So just wait up for the update on this thing, it'll probably be a while but that's all good. Thanks to the OP for all of their work as far as it has gone.

Hey there Alec, is it safe to assume that when this is mod is eventually configured for MC 1.7+, that Radarbro will be updated to version 2.0? That'd be way cool yo. Thanks for your work so far, great mod.

This hypothetical mod is already in use, included in a few hacked clients. Unfortunately, this doesn't yet exist as a stand alone mod. I'm not quite sure why that is, perhaps to give players incentive to use the entire client, as opposed to the mod itself. So if you need it, it is out there.

I am kinda confused on how to install this i extracted the whole thing to minecraft.jar and because of the class files it keeps erroring am i doing something wrong can you instruct me on how to fix this?

The latest version of the mod requires Forge.
You're going to have to install Forge first, run Minecraft, then drag and drop the entire zip file into the "Mods" folder.

The problem is that it would require fitting a 3 dimensional geometric shape onto a 2 dimensional game layout. It would be rather difficult and could only really be done if Minecraft had working mechanics for this sort of thing. The trajectory could be calculated depending on how charged the bow is and the angle of it's path, but it would then have to be rendered so that it updates according to that information. There isn't an obvious way to have dynamic images such as that appear in sequence relative to that data. Even more difficult would be making those images change based on their obstructions in the loaded world. I'm not sure if Minecraft works in a way to support these requirements. I thought of this too long ago and gave up hope on it being put out there...Maybe someone could challenge my pessimistic view and create such a mod?

bro my computer broke and the only way to fix it was to reinstall windows xp so I lost all of my files I don't have the src code to any of my mods.

Bummer man. :/ So very terribly sorry to hear about that. Good luck to whatever you plan on doing from here on out. Although I highly encourage you to continue your work on this, I and other sensible people will understand if you choose not to. Thanks for what you've already done as well. :)

May I give up all hope of this mod ever being compatible with Optifine? x) I'd love to use it, but that's the only reason I'm not as of now. ;p Are there plans to at some point change that?

That makes a lot of sense. I was afraid of and almost expecting there to be some kind of complication related to that. ;p
One thing I thought of was using the same effect you get when putting a jackolantern in your helmet slot. Although, instead of seeing a type of border around your vision, it would generate the trajectory path. That would have to update I suppose, and blocks in the path would have to be accounted for. Given that I don't know what I'm talking about, that's just an idea but I have no clue as to whether or not it could turn up any progress.

I can completely understand any backlog, there are so many requests on the thread already. Like I said, there's nothing even somewhat similar to this already in put out, so even if it was worked on a long time from now it'd still make a huge difference. Let me know if there's anyone you think I should talk to about this, I'd love to see it out there. Your call, good luck on other projects. (:

Hey there! I was very excited to find this thread, as it is the first time I've bothered to post anything on this website. (:

I've read through all criteria and the list mods that you won't do, finding no red flags. However, I'm not sure this is something in ANYONE'S field particularly because I haven't seen anything even similar to my thought of this mod. It seems simple enough in my mind, yet I'm sure it's more complicated when you're actually creating the mod itself, but you said you were looking for a challenge so here it is. (:

I'm looking for a mod that is an essential bow "pathfinder", if you will. This mod would create a sort of arch when you draw/tug on your bow, and show a clear path to where the arrow would be fired.
It's really simple as that, but here's a concept picture I created with Minecraft snapshots/paint to hopefully explain better. Though, keep in mind that these pictures are simply used to convey concept, and that MS Paint is rather choppy.

The color I used for the arch is yellow but really I have no preference on that and can be changed however you like. Perhaps allowing the color to be customized would be a feature to implement, although not necessary to me. Personally, I feel the arch should remain thin, but become somewhat transparent if possible.
Other specifications would be having this mod used on both SPP/SMP, as I would love to have this on my own server as well as my friends. (This is not a mod specifically designed to exploit SMP, although I don't see why not. So unless you feel differently, I say allow it. Wink-wink.)

That's all I can manage to think of regarding this mod, but if you have any questions or your own ideas to add to this I'll appreciate them all. (:
I feel like this mod could be incredibly useful and popular, despite it's disappointing nonexistence. Also, I may be optimistic here, but I'm hoping this is exactly the kind of challenging/innovative mod request you were looking for. (: Let me know what you think!

Dear god, I can't even explain. This is just so resplendent, it's incredible. I shudder and choke upon looking at it. I'm going to be taking a great deal creative element from this masterpiece. I'm on the verge of creating my own larger creation, and your project will give it untold amounts of benefit. Thanks for the insight, this is the first build that really inspires me to create something beautiful of my own. The story behind breaking and placing every block, the ingenuity of every structure and detail is amazing. It blows my mind, even now when I thought my knowledge of the game was near complete. The controlled dam, the Dwarven city, the foliage, everything is so perfectly placed and balanced out. Any amount and arrangement of words praising this jewel, would all be understating. This makes me want to purchase an X-box 360, and Minecraft for it, just to get a closer look at it all. This is a great, inconceivable thing. I really enjoy the way you used focused lighting in many of the showpiece areas, despite the fact that the whole kingdom itself is a showpiece. I'll proceed to bookmark this page for life starting now. Thanks for the feels, it's truly incredible. That's all I can say.
