posted a message on Server not showing up in listings while set as public?
Hi! So, I'm setting up a server for someone as part of the RSN with MCLawl, and everything's configured as it should be, but it's not showing up in the server listings on the minecraft website? When I give people the link, they can connect, but it's acting like a private server. There's not much more information to give... thanks in advance for any help!

That's how it should be but as a 12 year old let me tell you that parents can be a little... "computer illiterate".

"Port forwarding? PORT FORWARDING? Me and your mother don't want you doing any of at Satanist stuff!"

I'm afraid we're going to need a little more information than that. How is it not working?

HaloShadow: Thanks for the slightly creepy comment.

Narcissus: For that, I would recommend downloading MCZall (now MCLawl) as it is the best server software Ive seen for creative so far. It allows the builder/guest system you're talking about and lot's more. Sadly, the development seems to have slowed down a bit now that it's changed hands from Zallist to Lawlcat, but it's still in the transition period, so I have high hopes.

    Wargate: Er, thanks?

    m. If I try 64+ I get one.

It might look like just one when the count is above 64, but try placing one and you'll see that you've actually got more.

This happened to me. It actually isn't gone, just the spawn point changed. I don't know why it does this, but I traveled around and eventually found my starting area again. It was like 5 minutes away, so you might be looking for a long time.

I've had this problem too, and I was wondering whether there's was any way I could undo it or, if necessary, get it to happen again. The spawn has moved to a position where it is stopping me from carrying on with my construction, meaning that I have a half finished tower that I can't destroy because of the whole "no changes in spawn area" thing. Thanks for any help in advance!

Hello! I'd like to mention the fact that I am now running an SMP server, however I'm not the sort of person who's very good at mining for resources, instead preferring to construct, so I'd like some help please. The IP is 90.198.203.100, and the port is, by default, 25565. Thanks!

    Explanation for non-workingness:
Usually, with a DSL modem/router, every time you connect to the internet anew, you are assigned a different IP address. This indicator light will then look at your old IP for the presence of a minecraft game and come back empty.

Use a Dynamic DNS service like no-ip.com and you can get a domain which will always point to your current IP. You have to install some software, but it works well. For example, ste.zapto.org now always points to my current IP, so I use that for the Victory Clan light.

Hi, I was wondering, do you think you could explain in a little more detail how you did this? I've regitered with DynDNS.com. Thanks!

I'm glad to announce that the server is back up again! I've also got an indicator in the topic now, and it;s working for me, however this seems a bit odd, as it's using the IP 127.0.0.1, so it might not work for you. If it show red, please say! Otherwise, feel free to come visit!

    1. You're welcome. :smile.gif:
    2. Party member with conditions; I take every third wood block you mine to rebuild my house (see 6). After I have taken fifty wood blocks from you (that is, after you have mined 150 wood blocks in my presence) I work for free.
    3. I'm cold and harsh, not afraid of collateral damage in battles (including putting myself at risk), and as a side effect of this, I'm difficult to trust sometimes. However, when my house is rebuilt (see 6) I become a little friendlier towards you, even helping you for free, as I mentioned.
    4. Not applicable.
    5. Mage, I don't mind when.
    6. The main characters see a wooden house burning in the distance; they walk towards it, and enter. I can be seen backing away from my assailant towards a wall. The man attacking me shouts "Release the creepers!" and his men pull out the blue mob cages. They then leave, abandoning me to fend off the creepers with my magic, while my house is destroyed around me. As the creepers begin to hiss, the main characters leap in and drag me out, realising I was going to get myself killed. As the house is destroyed, leaving a crater of dirt in it's wake, the main characters and I escape.

OK, that was a bit much. I've been RPing too much. Don't worry, I'll provide sprites for the creepers, and any sprite will be fine for the attackers.

Very nice! I basically understand some of it, but not much. Enough to know that it's very cool.

    EDIT:

I'm very paranoid about even representing my appearance, so this looks nothing like me. I might be a girl, for all you know, but this is the sheet you're getting. As for a character description, what exactly do you mean? What needs to be included?
