If your emails got hacked, your problems have nothing to do with Minecraft itself (it doesn't know your email's password.) Did you try to use a "custom client" such as MCCheat? Because MCCheat is actually a scam that steals your account.
Nope. I downloaded no mods. I only downloaded the painterly texture pack.
I realize that minecraft does not know my email's passwords. What I suspect is, by some means, a hacker got my username and password information for minecraft. Then, because my email was linked to minecraft (and you can clearly see what email it is on the profile page), they somehow got access to that and... just a big mess :sad.gif:
My minecraft account has been hacked as well as the email linked. I'm not here to complain about that. I'm in the process of recovering both my minecraft account and the email associated with it, and hopefully before any damage is done.
I understand that this is an indie game and that it started out as a hobby for Notch. As such, his support team would be very small and security would be one of the last things on his mind since he just wanted to code new, awesome things for the game.

Mind you, I literally do nothing on my computer but browse the internet on sites like Kotaku, GameFAQs, etc; play Sims 3; or use it for word processing, and recently to play survivor mode minecraft. The email associated to my minecraft account I have had for 6 or 7 years and I have never had it compromised. I would gladly shoulder any blame if it were my fault and I am loathe to blame minecraft for my problems.

I paid 14 USD for an alpha account and it has only caused me a huge headache. My passwords were spamm-ish, things likes: @#2dsfre$65tr or %67zx^#doip and of that nature so you can't say that my passwords sucked, because they didn't.
I'm not a computer person. I don't know the ins and outs, as some would, I know enough to get by. So what is up with Minecraft's security? I am genuinely curious.
Hi, I'd like to say that I find your Let's Plays enjoyable so far. I follow 6 other LPers. Your LP's may not be "different" but different isn't always good. To be honest, there's only so many ways to play and not all of them appeal to a large audience.
The way you have your videos - a little bit of building, a little bit of exploring, etc. that's what I personally enjoy watching. I really like seeing how people set up their bases and ultimately expand and conquer their map. It's fun to see what people will do.
Everyone pretty much starts off the same way, punching trees and holing up in a tiny makeshift shelter, and it's entertaining to watch the progression.
Hey, I logged in just to say that I thought the video was really nice. Really clever transitions and I just kept wanting to watch more and more to see what would pop up next.
I've never had this happen to me, but I read that when a world crashes/deletes itself that there still may be some remnants leftover from the old save that may appear in your new save.
Most likely in the save folder for minecraft there were some chunks left behind from your old world that just inserted itself in your new world.
I recently installed a texture pack to replace the original ones. I was wondering what would happen to the textures after the game is updated? Will they revert back to the original? Will the new Hell textures somehow miraculously merge with my modded textures? Or will I have to manually go in and edit the .png's to replace the original textures with the modded ones while still keeping the new Halloween update textures?
I registered to this forum just to thank you for this texture pack. It's amazing! Keep up the great work, I'm excited for the finished product.
For the other armours do you intend to add Link's Zora armour or Magic armour to replace the diamond set?
Also, is it possible for you to create a skin of Link's signature green outfit. I am absolutely in love with it and would like to change my avatar. The other various skins of Link I have seen don't match yours in quality. Thanks in advance. :biggrin.gif:
With the new Halloween updates coming, it seems like I'll have to start a new world to experience the new mobs/hell/fishing/etc.
I've grown attached to my map, I really like the area where I've built my base and it'd be difficult to find something similar to it. Is it possible to just take the map seed, pop it into a new folder and have it generate the world with the new updates? Or is that not how it works and I have to start over completely?
