    It goes..... non-existent. Not going to lie to you, stopped working on it. Between the texture issue and trying to figure out where everything was, I was at me wits end. I was waiting until everything caught up, but it doesn't look like Forge is going to catch up to 1.7.9 anytime soon. I just finished school earlier this week and I have a prom to go to tomorrow night. So, I've really had no time to work on it.

    HOWEVER! I have nothing but free time lined up now that school is out. Coincidentally, I looked up Dragon Mounts today to see where it was at. Good news, it's at 1.7.2, finally caught up to the current modding version. So maybe, MAYBE. After this weekend I can start working on it again.

    Since it's such a change as far as the coding stand, I plan on re-writing everything. This will accomplish two things, optimization, and I will know where everything is. This will take longer, but in the long run will lead to faster updates.

    If I do release my own version, I will post my mod page on here, but only when it's released. So, if I haven't posted a link here yet, it's not out.

    I know everyone has been waiting and waiting for this mod to come back, hopefully I do not disappoint everyone. I will try my best.

    Hmm. Too many posts to read through so I will simply say why discontinued. I would like to try redoing this mod after I get my other mods proficient enough where we don't need to add to it every second and when I get ready to take on a project like this I would build a team but this is something I want to get involved in and try and continue when I get the time.


    Best of luck to you. Tip, better off starting from scratch, better wait till Dragon Mounts is updated to 1.7.2 atleast.

    Which is why I think it's a file system error. My other modding project works fine.

    No clue, the other team has the same problem. We can't figure out what is wrong, I think it's a file structure problem but no matter what I try, it doesn't work.

    Have you made a post for your new mod? I found wizight's, but not yours. I would like to keep track of both of them.


    No I haven't yet. I sent out he mod to a few friends and that's when I discovered the texture error. I saw little point in making a post if there was nothing to distribute.

    The programming language Minecraft is coded in is Java. Looks up some tutorials (maybe you can find one that teaches you through Minecraft.) After you learn the basics, look up how to start setting up a development environment for Minecraft and some other tutorials.

    The mod only has versions that work with 1.5.2 or below. Make sure you are using the correct version of Forge also.

    Honestly it will probably be more of a dragon riding mod with major Eragon influence. If I say it's following the book that means I can't do anything outside of the books. That is very limiting to what I can and cannot do. It is my personal belief that staying within the confines of the books won't make it a spectacular mod, just another one that adds different items and lets you ride dragons at the same time.

Also, would it be possible to use the source code and just keep it as is and just make it run for 1.6.4? Like without adding anything or taking anything out? I'm not modder and I'm only learning how to code so I don't know how mods work.


    That's what I'm attempting to do but for some reason it's not working. I've been doing research but there are simply tutorials for 1.6.4. The worst part is when forge finally released it will change much of the code again.

    It's a texture and MCP. The textures work fine when in the development environment but when you reobf the code and put it in Minecraft like someone who downloaded it would, they don't work anymore.

    I haven't made it yet. I decided to make it once I have a finished version. Right now all I am doing is finishing the work on updating to 1.6.4(and 1.7.2 if forge is out before I finish updating).

    A few people have been asking me what I plan to take so I'm here to clear up any confusing or misguiding regarding the direction I am taking.

    My first priority is making a run-able version of the mod for 1.6.4 and then 1.7.2 when Forge releases. After that I am going to gauge the direction the community wants to go. This is more your mod than mine and I plan to stick with that. Will I change it? Yes. Will you like every change I might make? No. But the best thing you can do is let your opinion be know. PM me, reply to me on here or the thread that I will create in a day or so, heck, even tweet me if you want. (@RsLeafy)

    The cold hard truth is we can't stick to the books solely. If you want any sort of adventure in the mod other than just adding new items and dragons, it has to be this way. Think of it as before the fall of the dragons or after Eragon has brought the Riders back. There would have to be changes in the way Riders grow(or even obtain) their dragons in the years before or after Eragon's story line.

    My hope is that I make a mod that is still like by the pre-existing following that the mod already has but with my own twist.
