The bed spawn is in the next update, (I am pretty sure). why not have a sleep mod like the hunger mods like there are, so if you don't sleep for x amount of days, then you die.

Beds are fine currently. They don't take the fun out of anything. You can only skip night if you're in a safe place (like your house) and in that case, you're already out of danger, the only difference here is that instead of being bored out of your mind waiting for day to come is now you can skip it, which has no impact on the difficulty at all. However, I think when you sleep in a bed, it should also heal you and switch your spawn point to it.
well really though you can make anyplace a "safe" place with a few torches like.... the cave your in or the hole in the ground you dug because you didn't make it back home fast before dark...
and to that guy who said healing would make the game to easy. not really i mean your just sacrificing time for health and the ability to move anywhere as well, and they could make it so the health Regen is slower if it feels to fast.
Don't change it. The random enemies spawning next to you and waking you up makes them balanced enough.

Actually, even in the most well-lite up houses, a mob will spawn near you and wake you up. I guess this is what _Jeb meant as the secret block that needed something to make it less powered.

Well I don't really like this update myself (not the bed part mind you, but the morning part) but I think it could of been done better.
Well for one I think it kinda ruins the danger of minecraft at night if you can just skip it whenever you want and that ruins the fun a little bit...
(not really a Survival Mode if its day 24-7 huh?)
Also it seems pretty much useless in multi-player servers at that.
What I would like the bed to do is instead of what is dose now:
When you rest in it at night it has the same effect on your health as on peaceful mode healing you (but not in the day) and lose the skip to day time all together! (i think its lame)
So whats you opinion on this update?

I made a post last night but no one look at it and it got buried in a flash so here is it again.
whenever i look down it starts to lag horrible and the sound shutters bad and I have no idea why!
it only works on TINY setting and that's just not going to work with me .-.
my 10 year old laptop could play minecraft on short setting with no problem at all and it only had 1GB ram.
can any finger out whats wrong with minecraft for me plz?

Okay so i just got a new desktop today (me being excited that i could play Minecraft with no lag)
and I got horribly disappointed!
i don't know why but when I look down it starts to lag and the sound shutters when i walk.... why is this happening
