The server has to be Spigot running the BBOR plugin. If it isn't, no joy. :(

Gnembon discusses this in detail with this villager breeder. Due to some bug, villagers lose track of their beds, but the POI (point-of-interest) system thinks the bed is still taken. The ONLY thing you can do is break the beds and put them back to reset the POI and allow villagers to reclaim the bed. This is not quite so big a deal in breeders, but it *kills* iron farms. Hopefully this is resolved in 1.15. I do not have a link to the bug report.

Iron Farm by Gnembon may also be useful.

Unfortunately I only Twitch when I'm having seizures. I suspect there is a forum for helping you do that since the Twitch App is explicitly made for mods. :)

That is an definitely an issue. Try downloading copy world from a recent season of Hermitcraft. All this beautiful "stuff"... going nowhere. Doing nothing. If it isn't in "use" somehow, even by NPC's, "somehow", it's pretty dead. Pretty to look at, it's "art", but nothing dynamic. No "life".

This is the LAST of a series of three. I think you would find Whitelight expresses the problem well. And if you need ideas or clarification, the Hive Mind is here for you. :)

Just keep in mind the story does NOT end here...

You can be a part of the ongoing conversation that creates change, allowing add-ons in Marketplace.

You can support creators like Razzleberry Fox of https://www.minecraftmods.com/decocraft/. She has a Patreon account at https://www.patreon.com/RazzleberryFox. If you don't care for what she's doing, be sure to support those who *do* create things you like.

You can learn to create your own mods. https://www.tynker.com/blog/articles/ideas-and-tips/how-to-create-minecraft-add-ons-in-tynker/ is one such program, and I am sure there are others. This is your opportunity to learn and make mods others may enjoy.

Please do not let your efforts on getting the mods you like be "final". Instead, let this be a springboard towards making your corner of the world a better place!

Consider https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/mybrightness as a "drop-in" replacement for GammaBright, only using Fabric instead of LiteLoader. The LiteLoader project appears to be dead on 1.12, and for 1.14.4 the functionality of LiteLoader appears to be replaced by Fabric Mod. For details on getting up and running with Fabric, look for VoxelMap which made the switch from LiteLoader to Fabric for 1.14. A few other former "LiteLoader" mods have made this switch as well, but VoxelMap's guide is what I refer to. Once you have VoxelMap working, grab a copy from the MyBrightness link above.

posted a message on Need Help!! Getting bored already, Need goals

I struggle with this issue on my server where we have players who want "tough" but not "too tough" of their battles, and "too much" is a line that seems to slide all over the place from time-to-time. Minecraft, as a game, is a "bring your own batteries" game. That is, the very best motivation to keep playing comes from within you. Some goal you wish to pursue, something you wish to accomplish. For me, I daydream of making some sort of town and castle with Vanilla Villagers that are actually "trapped", but done in such a way they appear free to move and do their "villager" thing, and have the town and castle actually feel alive.

is a mod that actually does this within the code, but since I'm playing 1.14, I have to "fake" what TangoTek actually accomplishes.

Another mod you might consider is https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/extra-hard-mode.19673/. Of course, you would *have* to run Spigot as a server, and learning how to do that might be interesting to learn. It *really* isn't that big a deal to set one up. Then you have a way to invite your friends to enjoy Extra Hard Mode *with* you. And EHM … well, a few friends might help a great deal. And I don't think you would be *bored* with it.

Or if you really want something that would give you hairy palms, check out "RLCraft" Mod. That one doesn't use Spigot, so just use Forge and learn to work with it. But... be prepared to die quite a bit. But you WILL NOT be "bored", just mostly dead trying to learn how to stay alive. :)

tl ; dr Add-ons are *encrypted* as part of the Marketplace Map and CAN NOT be separated from the map, currently, by policy. @The_T_Pearson discussed this over Twitter back in October, and you want to follow the conversation discussing this here: https://twitter.com/The_T_Pearson/status/1181325608317374464?s=20

https://mcpedl.com/t-rex/ by @Pixelheads for download FREE may work for you on any map you wish, while content by the very same group on https://marketplace.minecraft.net/en-us/creator?name=pixelheads will ONLY work on the maps you download from Marketplace.

I think the current policy sucks, and I've voiced my opinion about it on Twitter. Again, you really want to be a part of the ongoing conversation *there*, and please be kind and patient particularly with the Devs about it. I believe Pearson actually *agrees* with us, to some extent, but that is just my impression. But if a change is to be made, Pearson has to *sell* the change to his bosses. *DO NOT* annoy Pearson into writing this discussion off, please. But we are talking about this policy, and it would be really good to have you in on that discussion... ON TWITTER.

It could all be, but since I'm capable of running my own servers Realms has become far less appealing. "Transparency" is a hard thing, particularly *IF* it's a bug issue and not an actual hard limit they won't disclose. AND there are differences (as well as different bugs) between MCJE and MCBE that won't help the matter.

posted a message on Any "older" folks play Minecraft?

Since you said, Switch, you can only connect to Bedrock Realms servers or one of the publicly listed servers. That is "hard coded" into the game with no work-arounds for the Switch. If you have a PC, you have more options. This is just so you know what you should be looking for.

If none of the servers in the server list are to your liking, your focus will have to be to join a Bedrock server on Realms. Our server is in Java at this time, so it would be unplayable to you. There are message threads for servers advertising themselves, including realms.

https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft/multiplayer is your best bet. This message thread is more for older people "just talking in general, but not about anything server specific." What you posted is ok, but I don't think the mods will let it go far along the "looking for server" line. Good luck to you, and yes, you are VERY welcome to post in general about your perspective not being a 12-22yo player. :)

"Anything not explicitly forbidden is compulsory."

@Jancrash: If Mojang were to provide a "cloud backup", they would have to set hard limits on how much data, and what happens to the data once that line is crossed. My suggestion of using a Hermitcraft End-of-Season game save was to point out EXACTLY how much space a well-used world takes. "Aimed at individuals" or no, edge cases like this would have to be dealt with by a service provider.

@silverough2: Yes. But it doesn't take much time on Realms to figure out there is a "limit" on file size, and Mojang won't tell you what that limit is, so you essentially play your game until the file size grows to the point of making the game unplayable for lag.

I'm using a Multiverse server, so I have more than one Overworld, more than one End, more than one Nether. The Origional Overworld and Nether behave just fine. The additional Overworld and Nether appear totally out-of-wack in locating structures. I suspect Multiverse throws BBOR a curve-ball. :)

Oh, if you want some idea of the size and time involved for "heavily played worlds," check out the HermitCraft season backups available online through their site. While they are gorgeous in their own right to look at, they would represent an edge case of, "cloud storage may not work in some cases."
