I assume this also applies to opacity. I wanted to make crafting tables display blocks behind them with this texture, but currently the game fills any transparent pixels with solid white.

Would I be able to make any block have textures based on their axis, kind of like logs? I have a redstone block texture with different top and bottom faces, and I want to make it so that I can place it sideways or upside-down. The only difference between this and how a log works is that the top and bottom textures are different, so it'd have to work upside-down as well.

I know this is old but the problem was that the brackets did not match up. "frames": is supposed to contain everything with [ ], but the code here shows { ]. This is probably too old to be relevant, but making sure that the brackets all match is important.

Thank you for your support. I am currently attempting to finish all of the items that aren't tools because I can't figure out how to do those without them looking odd. I think I will just avoid those.

I hadn't noticed the updated wood textures. As I read the previous posts I saw the updated wood texture, I particularly like the CTM on the birch. However, the planks are wide enough to give a look almost like a higher resolution stone brick (albeit with a different color).

they look really good, though should it really be labeled as 1.7 when we haven't even had a snapshot for it yet?

The snapshot may not be out, but the new resource pack format has been announced already.

All of my art comes from random spontaneous brain mistakes. I retextured what a beacon looks like solely because I misread it as "bacon" one time. The only issue I have with texturing is getting block textures to seamlessly tile. Actually, that's the only thing preventing me from making my own texture pack entirely from scratch.

This is a very interesting idea, actually. I think the green on the carrots could use some lines to make it look like separate parts, but that's me.

Do you intend to do that to more? Because I think there is potential for a really interesting pack with a brick style like this.

I get what you mean about the carrots, they don't look leafy like the originals.

I actually have done this with many more items but I chose not to upload them. Here's a list:
    Clay Ball
    Diamond
    Charcoal
    Bone Meal
    Lapis Lazuli
    Glowstone Dust
    Sugar
    Snowball
    Slimeball
    Glistering Melon
    Flint
Gold Nugget (this one actually uses the default gold ingot, but it looks small when placed in a 32x square)
Flint and Steel (it also uses the default iron ingot plus a retextured one to match the flint ingot)
    Leather
Redstone Dust (it looks the same as the glowstone ingot, all I did was retexture it, same as default)

That's all for now. I am working on it.

Everything Ingots is a resource pack which can be used on any version from 1.7.2 onwards. The concept is simple- All items are ingots! The textures take inspiration from the default Iron Ingot, and using its shape, angles, and shading, all items are made to look like ingots!

This resource pack is not meant as a standalone pack. What's best about this is it can overwrite item textures while keeping your block textures intact! I personally recommend using it alongside Vattic's Faithful 32x32 Pack. The textures I made are all 32x32, so they look great with it!

    Download Here!

(Extract the file and move it to the Resource Packs folder)

My goal is to have as many ingot-ified items as possible! Stay tuned, I'm still working on it!

    Here are some images:

    Added redone carrot texture:

Flint and Steel (using default ingot sizes, one recolored for flint!):

Items I will try to add in the future:

    Usable Items (Tools, weapons, etc)
    Armor and Horse Armor
Charcoal, although a reversed Coal would pretty much cover it
    Clock
    All types of wooden door
    Cocoa Beans
Other Dyes (cyan, green, light blue, orange, red, light gray, yellow)
    Pufferfish
    Item Frame
    Lead
    Command Block Minecart
    Mutton (cooked and raw)
    Nether Star
    Nether Wart
    Painting
    Paper
    Prismarine Crystal and Shard
    Quartz
    Rabbit (cooked and raw)
    Rabbit Foot and Hide
    Rabbit Stew
    Sugar Cane
    Sign
    Seeds (melon, pumpkin, wheat)
    String
    Armor Stand

    Usage:

    • This resource pack may be used in videos as long as credit is given and a link to this thread is provided. (You can also PM me the link to the video so I can watch it :D)
    • If you want to share this pack please do so by giving others the link and not creating your own pack for distribution.
    • Feel free to mix-and-match. If you don't want all of the textures that's okay!
    • PM me if this pack will be used in any way which deviates from the above.
    • Please do not steal these, it would be easy enough to give credit.

Please give feedback! Let me know what you like or don't like, and tell me if you spot any broken textures!

I think one of the problems I would encounter in this pack is the iron ore. It is barely changed from the stone. I like the look of the oak logs but the planks remind me of the default stone bricks, just rounded and with a different color.

    progress tab:
    chocolate bar
    chocolate cake
    bucket of chocolate milk
    white chocolate
    dark chocolate
    chocolate apple
    enchanted chocolate apple

    todo tab:
calibrate everything so it'S not nerfed/overpowered
    set items/blocks textures
create a class of itembucketchocomilk.java to make chocolate milk heal aswell as remove potions effects
create the recipes and the furnace smeltings.
create some splashscreens that would appear with the mod
    finalize the mod

ps: as a matter of fact, i changed some stuffs compared to what your topic says, these include:
nerfed choco apple and enchanted one
reversed the recipe for a chocolate cookie (cookie all arround,a chocolate bar that gives 8 chocolate cookies)

when will the mod be released?: well, i think that the mod will come in 1.5 because textures adding would be better (codes will be changing though and there may be some time befor i actually get the catch on those new functions/changes). i also get some pressure with school works and that limit my time working on the mod (sorry, school is really important if i wanna advance in a career way one day). last i would thanks everyone who await for that mod. it will be really nice to see the approvement of everyone on the final product when it is released.

I think the brick shouldn't be a crafting recipe. Choco bricks should just be 9 chocolate bars on the crafting table, from there they can be made into chocolate blocks. Smelting adds an extra level of complication that we don't need. Also, we don't need the "Butter candy" because it doesn't need a skydoesminecraft reference. If he reviews the mod he will say something about it anyway. I also need to update the cake texture to have the strawberry decoration on top because it has that in the item itself.

I could make this mod. What do you plan for the ores? Tools and armour, or more complicated stuff? I can only do simple things.

EDIT: One problem with thallium is that thallium is very soft. And would be a useless tool material.

EDIT 2: I found out thallium is poisonous, so it will be used for a very strong sword with low uses.

EDIT 3: I just created thallium ore and sword and ingot, but you didn't even respond to me yet. I'm odd.

make some ores give off radiation. they can give off light like redstone ore but damage you like a cactus if you stand on or next to them for too long.
