posted a message on Simple Ore Generation (Now for 1.12.2)

Current Version: 4.1.0 for Minecraft 1.12.2; 3.6.0 for Minecraft 1.11.2

    What is it?

In previous versions of Minecraft, I really enjoyed the Nether Ores mod that was included in most modpacks. Sadly since we all have to update eventually, my friends and I have began playing with 1.8.9 and grabbing all the mods we've found updated. Unfortunately the original Nether Ores hasn't been updated, and since I'd been playing with modding anyway, I decided why not fill in the gap!

    What does it do?

First and foremost it changes the vanilla ore spawns in the overworld. The vanilla ores are completely blocked from spawning naturally, and instead are loaded in, in a custom way: They're more spaced out with a lower frequency, but when you DO find them, they have a larger vein size, meaning a lot more of what you DO find.

Ores also generate in the Nether, as well as the End, at any height! They have a higher than vanilla frequency but come with greater challenge due to their location.

posted a message on Simple Ore Generation (Now for 1.12.2)

This has recently been updated (and back ported) to version x.20.0 (for 1.9.4, 1.10.2, and 1.11.2). New features include:

    • Major bug fixes
    • Generation is fully customizable on a per ore basis
    • Zombie Pigmen now aggro when you mine nether ores
    • Support for custom dimensions (if the dimension is based on Stone)

All of the above are editable in either one of the two config files: options.cfg, or OreGen.json

posted a message on Spiral Power Mod [Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann inspired mod!]

UPDATE: Taking it way more seriously this time.

Over the past year... I really didn't make any progress at all. I took the hardest part and started trying to tackle it first. And now I realize why that was the wrong approach. So I have ported all the code to 1.7.10 to get with the times, and have a more concrete roadmap of things I want to accomplish, which you can see at the bottom of this post under "Currently Planned Features" Whats more, is that if you really want to, you can play with what I have right now.

*0.1.10 Update Preview Changelog: Introduced broken drill mechanic: When your Spiral Drill eventually breaks, it leaves behind a broken drill item to be used to fix it, or maybe turn back into Spiral Power. Yoko's rifle is now fully implemented. Includes multiple fire modes with texture and sound differences between them. The fire modes switch between multiple types of ammo: Custom Bullets, Raw Spiral Energy Droplets, and Arrows. A few placeholders for Ammo crafting have been added in so far, and will be expanded before the update is uploaded here. The Wikia is being updated as new things are introduced so you can probably catch more things there before they're listed here. ;p

A placeholder furnace is now implemented that burns physical spiral power and is unable to do vanilla recipes, only custom ones. For now it looks exactly like the vanilla furnace. I want to eventually change the way it works to handle non physical spiral power like machines, and to give it a unique look... I'm playing with Techne to do that.

Behind the scenes running has been smoothed out a bit. Minor tweaks and bugfixes as well as a new message system is now implemented. Mod now prints to the FML INFO/Log with the channel SPPWR instead of the old System.out.println() system which was pretty ugly. Also prints out it's loading status to the console.

*0.1.9.2 current update: Should be completely multiplayer compatible, and both in and out of Singleplayer everything should be persistent (spiral power staying when you exit, only being able to find one core drill legitimately etc) Spiral power GUI bar doesn't go away when in creative mode. I'll be working on that, and on Yoko's rifle next.

(1.7.10) Spiral Power Mod (0.1.9.2) (Mediafire)

    It's Minecraft 1.7.10, requires Forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1291 or higher.

    Video Update Showcase Thingy:

I am also going to be putting together a Wikia Page but that is going pretty slow too. I've never as much as edited a wiki at all, much less made one. A few people are helping, including my friend Brumock and DarkcloudFleethoof from this thread! :) Eventually it will house the recipes.. etc but for now we're going to just be making basic pages on the items/blocks I have already.

As per before, the textures may or may not be final, if you're interested in helping me with textures, it's the one thing I can't do at all. :3

Current Features (As of version 0.1.9):

Core Drill random drop from Stone
    - Should only drop once... but that resets if you die.. is still a WIP.
    Non-physical spiral power added
    - As a test, right now the only thing it does is consume spiral power to absorb damage when falling.
    Spiral Power GUI Bar
Spiral Drill which functions as Pickaxe, Axe, and Shovel. Will not act as hoe.
    - Required to harvest spiral power blocks... Anything else won't even hurt it, like bedrock.
Spiral Power Block (Is registered in world gen)
    Raw Spiral Droplet
    - Consumed to refill non-physical spiral power
    Condensed Spiral Chunk
    Kamina's Nodachi
    "Simon's Katana"
    - Wasnt really in show, that I'm aware of...
    Kamina's Armor
    - Best armor
    Simon's Armor
    - Next best
    Simon's Digger Armor
    - Entry tier
    Yoko's Rifle
    - Fires with raw spiral power, bullets, or arrows
-Currently fires arrow projectiles... which can be picked back up... renderers are difficult too.
    Viral's Cleaver
    - Comes with Sharpness 4 when crafted
Crafting recipes for all items listed above EXCEPT the Core Drill.
    - Spiral Drill recipe no longer the same as in OP, Is updated on wiki.
All items in custom creative tabs
3 fully working achievements (for now)

    Currently Being Worked on:

    Underground Villages.
-Custom villagers to go in that village
Figure out how Entitys work to change the project Yoko's Rifle shoots.
-Entitys also required for most custom blocks that do things other than just sit as world pieces
Custom block with a GUI (Probably spiral powered furnace... different than just making spiral power "burnable"

    Original post:

    Hello everyone!
Two things have led to this: One: being a programming student in uni, after taking a Java class this semester I thought making a mod for a game I play wayy too much of would be fun, and Two: After searching and seeing the post by Schilcote and how he simply disappeared off the face of the thread after posting about it two years ago.. And the fact that Gurren Lagann is my favorite anime... I thought what better first mod than something you're passionate about... amirite?

So here I am with my Spiral Power Mod project!

I come forth with a similar idea/concept but with actual progress before even posting!

Current textures ever so courteously provided by DanielPotter11 from his Gurren Lagann texture pack which can be found here: http://www.planetmin...en-lagann-pack/

Which is a good thing because otherwise it'd be a bunch of pink and black squares.. I am MISERABLY BAD at texturing.

If anyone wants to help with remaining textures or to provide different ones for the ones I currently have, feel free, they'll be welcomed.

Note: While in development, it assigns you a random character name every time you log on. Usually untaken or unskinned ones, but sometimes it's a persons actual account with a skin... it's weird...

    Currently planned features:

    Short term goals:
    Furnace powered by Spiral Power

    Short term (Stuck) goals:
Yoko outfit as armor (I don't have a texture to use... but adding in the armor itself could be done in a minute or two)

Medium term goals (original mod's intended functionality):
Core Drill locked chests in dungeons
Spiral Power Generator powered by Core Drill
Conversion to EU/MF/RF.. probably using Universal Electricty's API? If I can find it?

    Long Term:
    Consumable Spiral Power?

    LONG LONG term:
    Beastmen
    pilot-able gunmen
    combine-able gunmen
Enemy gunmen spawns during the day
    Enemy gunmen to be stealable
    Gunmen upgrades craftable

    Suggested Features:
Perceptual Teleportation (How the Gunmen moved through space without taking infinite years.)
Spiral Power to Weaponry conversion machine block

I will update this post as I get more features implemented!
If anyone has any more suggestions, I'll consider them! :D

posted a message on Spiral Power Mod [Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann inspired mod!]

I sure hope there's not lol but I'm sure you'll stress test it in ways I don't or can't ;p

I'd like to think old bugs are squashed before creating new ones.. I may have created a lot of them now with Yoko's Rifle getting implemented. Different fire modes.. and different damage based on ammo type... There's a lot to break :3

Edit: and break it did. With a little testing the current system very quickly fell apart. I'll have to be rethinking how this works.

posted a message on Spiral Power Mod [Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann inspired mod!]

Is 0.1.7 done, and post just isn't updated, or is that currently in progress?

My apologies, I thought I was ready to upload 0.1.7 when I edited the OP... and then ran into a major problem while trying to keep it both singleplayer playable, and server compatible simultaneously. At first it crashed a server if you loaded it onto one, however while that's fixed the multiplayer side of it is still quite a bit bugged. Spiral power can be used (in the limited way it's implemented) but on a server the GUI wont refresh. I'm trying to figure out how packets work so I can send custom data like spiral power percentage from server to client. And on both: while only getting one core drill drop works at first... if you die then player stats is reset and you can get another core drill drop again. As core drill count, and spiral power is stored in the same player stats class, I'm working on packet sending before I figure out how to save/persist through death.

tl;dr: Anyway the link is now updated, sorry for the wait.

To play with the limited implementation of spiral power try jumping lol. Right now when you fall, you'll use spiral power to absorb the fall and not take damage. And spiral power can be gained back by "consuming" raw spiral droplets.
