We all still need the Cubic Chunks Height Mod (TM) though. It offers way more than even the new Anvil format does. We need greater Depth & Height plus ability for larger terrain etc. Skyscrapers, for instance, need at least 512 maps.
[Continued] ...too much to easily troll with it. Also, (I hate to ask for a lot here) would it be possible to press some button (like, say, F9) while holding the block, to have a box displayed around nearby chunks with chunk-loader blocks in them, for the purpose of knowing where to put the blocks?
@Robinton: Wow, that is exactly what I mean! On our server, we sometimes need certain chunks loaded constantly, and yet we still REALLY want to use your mod. Maybe you could make the recipe similar to what is in AdditionalPipes: 4 iron ingots, shapeless. I like the recipe, as it is dirt cheap for someone with a lot of resources, and things that would require loaded chunks, but too much to t...
@catattack: What exactly do you mean? Do you mean a modded block, included in CubicChunks, that makes sure a specific ChunkCube stays loaded? I could probably make that.
Hey Robinton, I would like to ask you if you can include one thing in Cubic Chunks. In AddidionalPipes for BuildCraft, there are chunkloading blocks, to keep chunks always loaded. Can you add one like that, that loads the cubeChunk it is in? That would be a lifesaver!
@MCRivsy: Try upgrading to V1.5.4_Test4. It shouldn't have any bugs left (except possibly one with furnaces; I don't remember whether I've fixed that yet...)
dont worry about me, im sure you have enough idiots bugging you and i think what im going to try and do for now is reinstall minecraft for 1.8 and use one of your de bugged versions. thanks, and cheers
thank you for your quick response,i have the 2nd test version of CC, which you did say wasfairly buggy. I found that when i used the in game converter nothing of my level was left (but im not an idiot i did back up my files) and when i used the converter you built, parts small bits of my map were left..... I have tired re installing the mod, and now it doesnt even work for me sigh.....
@MCRivsy:
1. Which version of CC for MC1.0.0 do you have? It makes a huge difference, as I keep fixing bugs.
2. Maps sometimes do wierd things in CC, because they assume loading a Chunk means loading y 0-128, whereas CC assumes no such thing. This could largely be a map bug (that I should fix by full MC1.0.0 release...).
but most times, the entire world gets "chunked over" i can tell this is happening from looking at a map in my inventory while playing the game, and in the other rare cases, because parts of my structures are being filled by air and terrain while some parts arent... this seems to be a glitch, but i have little knowledge of cps in general. So is this a glitch with the mod or did i do some...
Hello Robinton, i reallylove your mod,although i havent been able to make full use of it yet, which brings on my question. I have recently installed your cubic chucnks mod for version 1.00 and, every world i open up is getting chunks generated over it. In some cases only small parts of the world get "chunked over" and some of my structures are partially intact, but most times,
@catattack998: I will try to write such a mod someday. I probably won't add the bounding-box, though...
