I'm amazed you got the stair to point in the direction you wanted. Whenever I try placing it, the orientation seems to be randomly decided by the MineCraft gods.
pyrefire: those are fantastic mechs! You're quite talented, not only as a AFOL but as a photographer as well.
If any of you are interested in what people can create with Legos, I recommend that you make your way to your regional Lego conference. For those of you on the US east coast, the annual BrickFair in Northern Virginia is next weekend, 7-8 August. You'll see many fantastic creations on display, featuring all the different types of sets available - even the NXT robotics - plus a variety of "Brick Films" (stop-motion lego movies). I submitted for this year's event, a spoof of Indiana Jones.
The downside to this [fix] is that a lot of designs will get quite a bit bigger since you’ll need one space of dust padding in each direction you want it to “power”. The upside is that they get muuuch less annoying to work with. Right now they magically spread through walls and generally act annoying.
The problem is that what someone finds 'annoying' is subjective.
Now that obsidian can be made (lava source + water), I wanted to revisit this thread. I agree with others that obsidian should not be 'unbreakable'; rather, it should be more durable than diamond.
For those of you who wonder why, since it is relatively easier to come across an obsidian block than diamond - it's because only diamond can mine/break an obsidian block.
Should this require obsidian to be mined into ingot form, which can then be crafted into tools and armor? If so, would it also require 9 obsidian ingots to craft it back into an obsidian block? Seems kinda wasteful. So, I think lava source + water should make an obsidian ore block, not a pure obsidian block.

So what do you all think: is this real, or a hoax?
EDIT: Hoax - it came from the Humans+ mod

In the meantime, I'll just build a sky-high waterfall to shield the east side of my castle and not worry about what y'all are doing. :tongue.gif:

I prefer etching a staircase into the outer ring wall.
