posted a message on New dimension concept?
Well, we all know of the Nether, and of course there's the Aether mod. But what about a third world to represent purgatory?

    THE OTHER

A grey world, ruined by an apocalypse of some sort. Ash is always in the air. NPC villages are replaced by Ruins(more details later). All Overworld mobs can spawn here.

The Other is reached by placing iron blocks in the shape of a Nether Portal, and right-clicking any base block while holding sulphur. The portal's interior looks grey and dirty, and you can hear faint sounds of destruction while near it.

    New Blocks:
Ash- The most common material. These blocks are made from ash, as the name implies. This world's version of dirt.

Chaos Wood- Found in Chaos trees, which have a zig-zag appearence and almost no leaves whatsoever. This wood can be used to create Chaotic Tools, which are devastating in combat and mining. Unfortunately, they are not very durable; breaking after the 50th use.

Harmonic Wood- Found in Harmonic trees, which look like forks. This can be used to create Harmony tools. Excellent durability, poor strength.

Void Stone- This is The Other's equilvant of cobblestone. Can be used to create Void tools; they have the effectiveness and durability of an Iron tool, but any and all drops by the enemy or block destroyed will be immediatley sent to your inventory unless it's full.

Ender Ore- This ore lets you combine it with iron to create Enderbots, which are mechanical Endermen who will fight for you. They are half as durable as normal Endermen, but have the same strength and abilities.

Death Ore- This ore lets you create a new type of tool- a scythe- with this ore only.

    New Tools:
Scythe- Crafted only with Death Ore. Scythes allow you to reap enemy souls, which give you an XP boost and a short-lived "Reaper" status effect. They are also the only thing capable of harming this world's final boss, but more on that later. Thankfully, Death Ore is like coal, being relatively easy to find.
-Reaper: A Status effect. Basically, upon reaping an enemy, try to kill more NPCs in a period of 30 seconds. This will determine how much XP you get. Encourages mob hunting.
*WARNING*: SCYTHES CANNOT HURT THE UNDEAD, BUT THEY WILL IGNORE YOU IF YOU ARE HOLDING A SCYTHE AND HAVE NOT ATTACKED THEM YET. BE CAREFUL.

    New Crafting Items:
Chaos Planks- Wood planks made from Chaos Wood. Endermen can pick these up, but it slows them down, making them unable to teleport. This nerfs the danger they pose.

Harmonic Planks- Wood planks made from Harmonic wood. Hilariously, if an Enderman picks this up, they drop it and start jumping around in pain. It does actually hurt them.

Blade of Life- Make by using a sword's template, but placing one Chaos plank and one Harmonic plank
instead of two of that kind. The resulting weapon inflicts alot of damage on the undead, and they will run in fear from the weapon.

    New Friendly Mobs:
Starterwomen- Conceptualized by TwoAwesomeGamers on Youtube. These creatures are tall and thin, like Endermen, but are female, and have a white dress. Their skin is white, they have yellow hair tied back in a ponytail, and their eyes are sky-blue. They attack Endermen in the night, and repair damage done by Endermen at daybreak. They only attack if you attack first, and this is occasionally necessary, though risky. They have alot of health, more than an Iron Golem.
-Drops: Alpha Coins, which can be used to upgrade enchantments for one use per coin you have in your inventory.

Harmony Creepers- These creepers are pure white and are always smiling. They inhabit Ruins, and will converse with you. Right-click on them to bring up the options of "Joke", "Ask to follow", or "Converse".
Don't attack them; they kick you, and it HURTS. Weak health.
    -Drops: 1-5 blocks of TNT.

    New Hostile Mobs:
The Fallen: Also called "demons", these beings are angels that have fallen from the Aether. They move slowly, and have tattered wings. Long, white robes are worn by them, but these robes are bloodstained. They despise humans, and attack you if they see you. Thankfully, they are rare. Very strong and durable; their only attack is a furious charge in your direction.
-Drops: Angel Feathers. Collect five of these and you can craft Wings of Icarus, allowing you to hover for a second during a jump. Be warned; they burn above the clouds, making it risky to go too high.

Chaos Creeper- Oh Notch. These guys are MEAN. Chaos Creepers are black, have red eyes and a red mouth, and look REALLY angry. They charge at you, spewing fire breath at you. Thankfully, they have to directly see you to want your head. Wearing a pumpkin will allow you to approach them in peace; give them a block of Harmony wood to turn them into Harmony Creepers. Weak health.
    -Drops: 1-5 blocks of TNT.

Any suggestions that I like will be added to this list.

    What about Hellstone; a stone that glows with a fiery aura? Combine it with a Blaze Rod to create these tools;

Hellstone Sword: A deadly weapon. Breaks after 6000 uses, but not very powerful on non-Nether enemies.

Hellstone Pick: Breaks after 6000 uses. Has a normal effect on non-Nether materials, but Netherrack can be broken in mere microseconds.

Hellstone Shovel: Breaks after 4000 uses. Soul Sand stands no chance, but ordinary effect on other shovelable materials.

Hellstone Axe: Breaks after 4000 uses. This requires the addition of Ghast Trees, which are trees that produce sticks that, when combined with Blaze Powder, create small Ghasts that fight for you.

    Anyone else got any ideas?

Yeah, I guess, but remember; structures of that type are made by griefers too, and it's kinda hard to see what other players are holding ATM.

I also think that a full-blown designer would add to the creative aspect of the game.

If you create a sword with the lightning shard, it will have a 25% chance of electrocuting enemies. The only downside.... charged creepers. :SSSS: : Thankssssss for the power-up.... sssssss BOOM

    Yeah, just a thought.

    I'm glad you like it.

@RandomNameThing: I'm confused; what do you mean by world specific? I'm not very well-versed in Minecraftian terminology.

Hi there! I'm RobbieNexus, frequent Caznowl server-goer and soon-to-be owner of the full version of Minecraft! I got this idea a while back, and thought I'd share it with you.

    The Tool Designer is an option you have upon creating a tool; every individual tool can be customized in appearence and named if you so desire. For example; a diamond sword could be made to look like the Master Sword, and when you hover over it to select it, this would come up;

    Master Sword(Diamond Sword)

I just thought it would enhance the creative aspect of the game. Thoughts?
