posted a message on Permission Denied: Connect and Failed to verify username SOLUTION!
Hey guys! I posted a thread with the issue I was having about a week ago. Here was the error I was getting when trying to connect to my server, I also had a gray screen at the launcher and couldn't connect to any other servers.

I connect through a private network manager, Hamachi. I have tried enabling Java through Firewall, turning off my security client, restarting Minecraft, redownloading Minecraft, I have even tried pinging to session.minecraft.net

    When I ping to session.minecraft.net here's what I get...

    C:\Users\Robert>ping session.minecraft.net

    Pinging session-1527528893.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com [IP] with 32 b

    Ping statistics for IP:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

I was updated to Java 7. I don't know what it is about that but when I uninstalled Java 7 and reverted back to Java 6 everything was working again!! :D If you want to install Java 6 then here's the link http://www.downloadcrew.com/article/27228-java_6_64-bit to uninstall Java 7 go to Start Menu>Control Panel>Programs and features>and uninstall all of java and it's updates BEFORE installing the new Java 6.

    Hope I helped! :)

Why do I like Minecraft? I LOVE building stuff on mountains...hehe. And redstone creations are a ton of fun too!! :D
Why do I want to join your server? My last one was closed after a hacking and griefing exploit that pretty much destroyed all the server, hasn't been on since. All that work... :(

You realize that on the internet, there are these people called hackers. And what these hackers can do with a simple IP Adress will amaze you, even throw you off of your chair. I may not be one of them, but you should probably protect your IP Adress online a bit more protectively.

Sorry, i'm an idiot. That's not my real IP address though. Hamachi's IP.

Ah, googled your problem and I think I have a solution that should work for now.
Go to Control Panel -> Java -> Java -> View... and under Runtime Parameters add -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true to the end of the string. Save it and try again.

Alright, I added the new runtime parameter. should I still try to connect to the hamachi IP by the way?? Or my computer's IP. Thank's for the help!

I tried both addresses and neither worked. I don't know what to do! Still shows the "Failed to verify username! [internal error java.net.socketexception: Permission Denied: Connect]

If your server is hosted on the same computer, disable Hamachi (it's crap anyways) and connect to it with 127.0.0.1. See if the problem is fixed.
Otherwise, learn to port forward. http://portforward.com

The port forwarding didn't work either. :(

Sorry, disregaurd that last post. When I type out the Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true and add it it says it needs to know the location of Java runtime enviorments. What does that mean?

Tried that IP and still gave the exact same error :/ I'll try the Port Forwarding option

posted a message on Major connection issues...
I haven't been able to connect to any servers - including my own - since the website in the launcher is a raw HTML that looks like this, <html><body>

    <center>Failed to update news
    java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect</center>
    </body></html

Every time I try to connect to a server it says
"internal client error java.net.socketexception permission denied connect"

I haven't been able to connect to the servers ever since the HTML on the launcher appeared

I don't know what I did that started this but when I start my computer in network safe mode it is able to connect to servers and the website on the launcher is no longer raw HTML. How can I get it to work in normal mode?

    Thanks!
