Unsubbed from all of them because either they got annoying or their content got boring.

On the flip side i subbed to a few of the mind-crack guys recently and their content is fresh and entertaining so far.

Seriously that is your response to my topic? There are a lot of people who will care including Jehovah Witnesses and parents. This is satanic stuff we are talking about here. I love the game and don't want to have to quit playing because of a stupid addition to the game.

    Dont update.

posted a message on Minecraft has changed for the worst!

Since nobody can back their opinions I'm going to post mine. I have been playing minecraft since their were 200k copies sold. Back when notch was playing with the mob models (Rana, Steve etc. ) I have loved most updates until 1.8. Naturally as 1.8 was going to be a big update, I got really hyped up. New terrain generation, new lighting, bow drawback, etc... After I had got it, I had realized it had ruined more features than it had improved. Terrain generation, even now, is limited to certain y heights, making all biomes look the same. The mountain biomes, were probably the worst idea. A biome with little to no trees, and always super tall. Plains are missing trees, though seldom they should be bigger than the average tree. Oceans have little to no island generation, but I can live with that, what I can't live with is the highly unrealistic and ugly splotches of dirt, sand and clay on the ocean floor. Beaches are also missing (true beaches before 1.8 not replacing blocks near the shore with sand.) Enough of terrain, their are lots of problems with other aspects. The biggest is probably mob spawning. Passive mobs spawn plentifully when you generate a new world, but after awhile they quickly disperse and you don't see them again. This is an incentive to farm, and of course, their should be an incentive to farm, although they are going about it wrong. Minecraft is a sandbox game. Don't like a feature, don't use it. In this case, you don't have a choice. They are forcing people to farm, and many people aren't the farming type. Some want to be a mob-slayer and going about hitting pigs with shovels, but the extremely slow spawn-rate disables them from doing so. Even the farmers might have plenty of livestock on their farm, but outside, it's a ghost town. The abundance of animals gave minecraft life, without them it feels dead and depressing. Iron is much too abundant, I don't really need to mention this anymore. Another problem is villagers. It's somewhat minor, but the majority of people don't like the villager model. It would make sense, if they had the same model as Steve. Worse enough, is the fact that it had been a running joke (Huge heads, big noses, arms folded, also present in the golem.) Endermen also need to be fixed. I'm not sure how they would do this, but Endermen need to recognize people looking at them in smp. Currently they attack if you hit them, or bump into them. But the biggest thing, is mod compatibility. It is a relief to hear that is getting shown some love. These are the things that keep me from playing 1.2. So I propose some changes.

Revert to noise generator, keep the ability to customize biomes based on volatility and weight, but do not restrict them much, so we can have random terrain again.

Make mountain biomes range from 64-127 Y height. So we have a mixture of hills and mountains. Add tree generation from 64-95 height, and snow generation at 100-128. (I am aware jeb said he couldn't take advantage of the new height, as large landmasses would cause lag, but currently mountains seem to have a max height of 100, so this is a compromise.)

Re-add 1.7.3 beaches, and gravel beaches.

Change ocean floor to something closer to 1.7.3.

Let some savannah-type trees to generate in plains.

    Re-add rainforest biome.

Change mob-spawning to appeal to both crowds.

Reduce spawning of iron, or decrease cave generation.

Change villagers to the model Steve uses. Change iron golem model to something more bad-ass.

Fix endermen seen recognition in smp.

Do not limit modders with the api. Make mods not break each update, and have them toggle-able from the mod and texture packs folder.

I do appreciate what Notch has done and what jeb is currently doing with minecraft. But I do realize they are horrible with deadlines (like myself) they shouldn't set themselves deadlines until they know they can meet them (they shouldn't have to, if only the community understood we'd get more from them if we hadn't bothered them.) But in my opinion, and I'm sure several others, 1.0.0 was the most feature missing/incomplete, broken version of minecraft for awhile. These few things could make minecraft much more enjoyable.

    Anticipating future updates,

    barrettj1
