Probably already said but I still find it to be a decent idea.
We know that we can't really throw the fire charge unless by using a dispenser. But what if we make it an ingredient for making something that allows you to shoot fire? Perhaps, flaming arrows?
The only problem I would see with this suggestion is that fire is pretty dangerous to use, anything that is flammable that is touched by it gets caught on fire, but yet the devs figured out a way to work in a flaming sword enchantment that only sets fire to mobs, but yet we can't enchant bows or even arrows. So why not make flaming arrows craftable? It would probably take a lot of work to get a full stack of flaming arrows (crafting the arrows and the fire charges)
I find this alternative use for the fire charge a bit reasonable than just lobbing the fire charge from your hand. Ether that or figure out a way to make them an ingredient in order to make a molotov cocktail bomb, which would be neat but not as a balanced idea.
Jesus Christ.
You got what you asked for and now you are complaining?
All "Parkour" maps are **** anyway, all it is is jumping around on blocks and stairs, nothing fun about that.
This is good, now I can get up my ****ing ladders and not fall down into a pit of creepers.
Outside of parkour shenanigans, I really had no issues with the ladder myself. I don't understand how it would be possible that you would fall off a ladder because of collision boxes, if anything you might have just pressed the wrong key which made you veered off the ladder. All it does is make it a bit harder to use for secret trap doors, and no you can't simulate the old collision box with the trap door, you end up falling through the trap door.
Personally I would rather have the ladders back to where they were, it made it easy to simulate wall jumping as well as other things. Of course, this can pose as a challenge for people who are making parkour maps.
It really has limited the creativity of trap doors and ladders (and ladders in general), it also made it hard to simulate wall jumping. But people were complaining about the issues of the collision box on the ladders, which a small fraction of us, didn't have a issue with (so I assume.)
You do know that parkour maps are the laughing stock of creativity in the minecraft forums right? Which I don't really understand why, I know that running and jumping onto ladders isn't creative until you turn it into a obstacle course but whatever.
No. You are basically arguing that your own concerns about a feature are more important than anyone else concerns about a feature. You handwave the problem the guy mentioned, and that other people have had.. then proclaim them "not problem" or "not broken".. By your own standards it wasn't broken. But not by others standards.
"Learn to play" is not a valid response. That's all you are saying.
You guys want to dismiss the concerns or issues that some have had as irrelevant, but you expect your own concerns about parkour maps to be sacrosanct and absolutely important. Seriously. Parkour maps. This is not a parkour simulator.
The fact that some users experienced issues with ladders in their normal, intended use far outweighs the bonus of their broken state for a custom style of map that only a small percentage of people even play. Especially considering that someone could make a mod to reinforce old ladder behavior for those specific maps.
You could easily just rebutted my stance without sounding like a complete ass and I would have gotten the point, case closed, everyone's happy and this topic can go back to arguing back and forth about the sizes of certain biomes and how they should be generated.
Even then, how were the ladder's collision boxes an issue, because from my experiences, I had none. Please, enlighten me with your bountiful knowledge of the survival sandbox video game known as minecraft.
This oughta be rather interesting, think we might get a stronghold within the nether? That would be fun to explore and might be for those who are more experienced and give us a reason to stay in the nether other than farming netherack, soul sand, and glowstone.

Sad part is, a majority of gaming communities that are large are very ungrateful. **** happens when your game becomes very popular.

Huh, so they did make bows enchantable. But Is there a flaming arrow enchantment?
Well that certainly ruins this topic. Ah well, there's always the molotov idea up for grabs.

They probably won't. you can't stand on top of vines. But it does make it a nice alternative compared to ladders.

You can, it's just a very stupid idea.
