Skype Name: I don't have Skype.

    Previous Clans: Halcyon, SCoM

Occupation of Interest: Builder (when shall I provide images of my previous work?)

Character Background: I am an old man, and a prestigious graduate of an architecture university whose teachings have been long lost to time. An untidy neck-beard and bushy unibrow attest to my unkempt demeanor, but beyond my exterior rests a colorful mind, full of poetic wisdom. I never cease to amaze how agilely I ascend the scaffolding of my buildings, with such a hairy plump belly. I never shower and I'm always dressed in the same overalls. A homely scent follows me wherever I go, undoubtedly created from the immense about of fecal matter accumulated in my pants and caterpillars that reside in my beard.

I did not intend to threaten you, I actually thank you for what you have been doing!

Nonetheless, let's pretend I'm not still alive.

I unfortunately do not use Skype. If you want to talk though, PM me and we can have a chat on TeamSpeak. Best of luck!

The real Halcyon is very much alive. We prefer to take to the shadows.

I actually welcome those who attempt to wear the Halcyon costume - they direct attention away from us while we conduct our clandestine affairs. The original Halcyon itself often had a fairly ironic name. I am sure some of the early Romans remember the terror of Vivantium when it was still alive. Good luck to you and your clan, "President" iMystogani.

Yes, this server is still up. It's been updated to the most recent version of MC. Check it out, map reset was a few weeks ago. Good time to get up and going.

I think there is room for both. The battles in which I have been involved allowed room for both methods. The cannons breached the walls as siege weapons, but since you cannot place TNT in faction land and no other options exist to breach entries, we had to corral creepers to finish the counterattack.

Ultimately, it's probably the best method currently, because you don't want to give the enemy access to spam TNT around your base easily, and it take skill to creeper bomb a specific door without destroying your access into the base by cratering the wrong place.

Seems fair enough. Regardless, TnT cannons with advanced redstone wiring can be massively more destructive than a creeper can.

I feel that TnT cannons should be more of "the norm" in a faction's server like our. It feels like a very sophisticated way to make war, therefore I agree that this update was for the better.

I agree. Are there any other ways in which we may sort of, "prompt" our server's players to using TnT cannons in preference to creepers? If you have any ideas, do not hesitate to ask me about any on-topic server-related complete issue on our server thread, which is here.

    Regards,

A few weeks ago I recieved complaints about mobs, spawning in faction claimed land. We didn't want this to happen so the issue was dealt with quickly. However ever since that tweak we seem to have found creepers to have a mind of their own. They have been exploding at random (or not at all).

Creeper bombing now requires skill and precision. Good luck to all.

I also think this will implore more people to use TnT cannons as a more organized form of warfare. Either way it's still a good update. I'd like to see what other members have to say on this server-related issue that is discussing something that is on the server.

Ritz, I reckon there should be like this 99% chance of getting 200 lith everytime you vote, with a possible 98% chance of getting prot 50 diamond armour, as well as op.

    Just kiddin.

What you have there is fine, and hopefully the way you've run this server so far will have made people thankful they are getting rewards for voting, small as the rewards are.

I'll bring it up in the next discussion with the rest of the administrative staff. I'm sure we can work something similar out.

Thank you for your appreciation, Terror! Anything in particular you find to be unique or challenging?

In spite of the recent amount of inactivity (for some mystical reason) on the server, I am adding Votifier and a few small voting websites. What do you guys think should be the rewards for voting? Thus far I have considered the following, through the VoteRoullette plugin:

    - 2 diamonds
    - 10 magenta wool
    - 5 gold ingots

Random time each time you vote to receive one of these rewards. Thoughts?

Thank you for informing everyone about the events on the server. While we are on this subject, I would also like to add that lith has been given out as a reward for the games? Now, you may ask, what exactly IS "Lith"?

Lith (bedrock) is the donor currency on the server. While we have not exactly set it up yet, lith will be used in the future as a reward for donating (Likely $1 donation equals 1 lith in-game). Then, players will be able to use lith to buy perks and other unique abilities to help build better cities, and overall enhancement of the game for all those who use it. You can trade lith with other players for currency, or even build with it, but nobody in the right mind would do that of course.

Lith is based off of the donor currency that was on Monolith years ago. We are reincorporating it in on the new server in a new unique style. Some people may not have known about this prior to this post, so I hope you all have been greatly informed by this new addition to our server, the World of Halcyon.

The lith will remain a reward for winning the event games, for both individual players on the King of the Hill, or the teams that fight on the Valley, as well as the tournament champion of the Spleef arenas! This is so even players who cannot afford to donate or choose not to still have the ability to gain access to these perks if they win it through the events, or buy it from other players.

Thank you for sharing the details on the Illyrian Confederacy, blue_reloaded. I think it would also be ideal if the other nations on the server post their details here so they can showcase the different types of ideologies and markets that are apparent on the server.

I would like to thank NiallDoherty for designing a plugin for our server to limit enchantments. Due to some problems with our previous enchantment modifying plugin, he took it upon himself to engineer a new work of Bukkit art that will disable weapons and armor enchantments.

I would also like to bring attention to the recent discussion regarding combat balance changes. If you wish to take part, or just look at what is being discussed please redirect yourself here: http://halcyon.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/75-balancing-combat-discussion/

Halcyon is based off of the community, and we consult the community before making any major changes. While there was some trouble in the past, I intend on asking everyone for their opinion and ensuring a server consensus has been reached before we alter game mechanics.

    Thank you for your time.!

Oh Adasia, that is such a flattering narrative. Thank you very much for sharing that with me & the rest of the Minecraft Forum community.

Anyway, a few days ago was the Halcyon server's 1 month anniversary! A little over a month ago on January 24, 2014, the server turned exactly 1 month old. I think we have gotten a lot done in a single month, and the growth has been fantastic. I may arrange some celebratory games or something of the sort on the server.

In regards to recent server events, Illyria, Kutisha, and SCoM remain the server's largest and most powerful 3 nations. It appears the recent conflict has been temporarily resolved as no battles have occurred in the last few days.

There unfortunately has been a few incidents of pillaring, something of which is not tolerated on the World of Halcyon.

The admin team & I are currently working on the server spawn we will introduce with the server reset in April (that is the current tentative date, it can be subject to change based on server conditions and consensus.) I also advise members to check this thread as well as the Announcements forum here: http://halcyon.invisionzone.com/

We seem to have come cross a recent strain of inactivity. Regardless, I am spreading the word of our server to other websites and sources to help popularize our idea here.

Anyway, here is a sneak-peek at what I am building for the spawn.

Some of you may have known, our first spawn was sort of rushed because we had to get the server open and ready for members to join. Thus it did not really have a consistent theme or style. The new spawn (as you can see is in the desert) hopes to create a much more elaborate and beautiful city that really "comes to life". Plus, we are not being rushed since there will be several months to work on it.

Thank you for your time, and check out the server if you haven't already!

That dungeon sounds good Ritz, can't wait to get a crack at it!

On the topic of the Peace Agreement, Chancellor Bananas2112 of Illyria is currently waiting for 2 Kutishan, 2 SCoM and 2 Illyrian members, preferably faction leaders and an officer (However, in regards to SCoM's political status, any two members of their faction will suffice), to agree to a time to meet at the Illorium to discuss said Peace Agreement.

Thank you for bringing up the server relatable subject of the peace agreement. It is exciting to know the server's three largest nations are coming together to formulate some sort of peace plan that can serve as a model for the future of the server. It is best these moral codes are established earlier than later so that they can be altered, and amended as the server political culture requires.

I am hoping to see some smaller factions gain power, as we have not had a significant burst in new players in a while. Most of the oldest members are in Illyria or have scattered about. As the server's oldest surviving nation, Illyria has the veteranship that gives them a more political and tactical advantage when it comes to understanding the server politics and issues.

In any circumstances, the power of SCoM and Kutisha cannot be denied and these nations have my utmost respect for attempting to install some civilized boundaries that they may all set themselves towards.

I'm sure some Nuclear Anti-proliferation treaties will be sprouting up soon, after we install the nuclear bomb plugin! Just kidding. Oh, the things I would do if I had access to such a plugin.

In other news, I have been building a home on the creative world. I figured I would share it all with you, if that's fine. Keep in mind this house is also on the server.

Any suggestions? It's been quite a while since I have actually built a casual house.

Anyway, I will see you guys around. Please send me a private message or talk to me in-game or on the forums if you need anything else.

I don't think "skill" in PvP matters very much. If you can throw potions well from a distance, that's all that matters in my opinion I guess. I have not really met people who have consistently "done well" or "know how to use a sword"... those concepts are alien to me. Get the best enchantments, weapons, and potions, and you're set. If you go against someone with equal gear you are at the mercy of your internet connection.
