Oct 13, 2011Risingmoon_01 posted a message on Dragons!I wonder how this will play out in the longer run worlds... Going to have to figure out a way to keep the spawn points intact (maybe, he he). I like the "destructiveness", but I question it's ability to dig so easily. After a few hours of it hanging around there may not be much of this new world left. Maybe just have it take out anything that isn't stone or harder (Cobblestone, Dirt, wood, water, ice, basically anything that naturally spawns above ground)? It would still allow for some forms of advancement in the world, just force it all underground (Reign of Fire anyone???) Just a thought, looks super freaking cool either way, and I'm sure we'll figure out a way of dealing with it, one way or another.... lol!!!Posted in: News

Risingmoon_01 (not a joke, been that my whole life...)
Your age:
31
Your favorite Minecraft things to do:
Occasionally play SMP by myself or with a friend, generally on a random server, losing everything after a week. (I also have a private server, so playing on other servers is like taking a break & getting to PLAY the game, lol) I really enjoy the Catacombs Mod in Bukkit, so I have a world where I've put a bunch of them spread out, and then go find them now and then & plunder away. Otherwise I'm continually improving on my castles, fields, farms, mazes, etc (using creative mode). I also like to work with secret doors, favorite method is the minecart switch hidden behind a corner, but there are others too that work, depending on the space and situation.

Second, see if disconnection from the network itself helps. This can indicate different problems, but you'd at least know it was net related (possibly a virus, I'd check that FIRST if disconnecting from the net helps, but could be other things not so bad...)
Basically, from there, I'd start dissecting my computer's programs, first by going to task manager (ctrl+alt+delete ONCE), and google any programs that I don't immediately recognize running in the background.
After that, if everything checks out, then I'd start looking at hardware. RAM, Power source, USB connections, speakers, etc. Just do things step by step until you've localized the problem, basically...My first question is do you have Steam? When I was running my XP box w/Steam, it would do something similar, unless I shut Steam off first.

Official Release (What is it, 1.10.0.1101100010 or something?)
Bug name: Mobs/Entities phasing through walls
Details: Mobs/Entities can be forced/jump through walls/ceilings. I built the "zipper" elevator in a local multiplayer survival game, and was plagued by skeletons and creepers phasing through the checkerboard pattern on the back. They were able to just jump up to the top.
The "zipper" also broke, now I just get pushed though the stairs. Multiplayer bug only (Works fine in my single player creative, haven't built one in single player survival).
I also have a mob crushing trap, involving minecarts. Originally, if the end of the track was occupied by a cart, a cart that I sent down the track afterward would return (based on the way I had it set up). Now, instead it just forces the other cart to partially phase through the wall at the end of the track, essentially breaking the trap. (I'm having this problem across the board, Single player survival/creative, Multiplayer Survival).
I've also personally (lol) phased though a wall, although that might have just been a spawn in glitch. Only happened once, in Multiplayer survival, right after spawning in during a construction project at my spawn area (creeper got me).
System: Windows 7, 64 bit (running in 32 bit mode for "monitor" reasons, although these still happens in 64...for me), 6G RAM.

I didn't know how to set up a server four days ago, and now I've got a local one (@home only right now, until I can get a better hold of being an admin.)
So, no, don't have one for you to use, but it is relatively easy to set up a vanilla server, if you'd like to try/if your system & connection can handle it..
(sorry about late reply, just got off work...)

Well, I'm noticing that no one has replied, so I figure I'll say something...
1st, your post is a little confusing. Are you trying to set up a server on your own machine to play on, or seeing if someone else has a server that they would be willing to "?" you until you "?"...
If you're trying to set up a server on your own machine, I'll ask now what your system specs are, because we'll need to know if it's possible, first.
Hope this helps you get the "cube" rolling... A little more detail on what you're looking for/capable of is needed...
Good luck!

SSP or SMP: SSP: Yes SMP: Maybe
Your Computer Specs and Operating System: WinXP Pro SP3, AMD Athlon (64) 3500 2.21 GHz 2.5Gig RAM
Can you repeat this bug: Yes
What issues does the bug Cause: Not sure, the game crashed on the second time it occured, but may not have been caused by the issue. (Didn't crash the first time.)
Specific conditions it occurs in if applicable: In Creative mode, when a Creeper explodes, the blocks that it destroys create drops (cobblestone, sand, dirt, etc.), and when you pick them up they stack on top of your "unlimited" supply of similar blocks. --The count didn't change at all when placing the blocks, but when I went to repeat the bug the game crashed after placing two blocks (may or may not be related to the bug, uncertain, but I figured the creeper bug was worth pointing out)--
