    Keep a large distance. Preferably build your base/shelter in a high area. Cut down most of the nearby trees. Snipe them with the bow before they even have a chance to get anywhere close to aggro range.

    I just had a random idea for Endermen. How about when you look at them, and while they are aggroed on you, the environment darkens temporarily. The Endermen that are attacking (and you) would be the only ones in the correct lighting.

    It would be completely visual, and could actually make them more difficult because of the other mobs that may now be harder to see.

    No. No. No. And again, No.

    Xbox Controller Support is a terrible idea for a few reasons.

    • It breaks compatability with other controllers. My PS2 controller (I have a USB adapter) dosen't work on '360 Controller Supported Games.' The buttons get all mixed up, and one of the joysticks acts wierd. I don't own a 360, don't want one, but is forced to buy a $40 controller for one.
    • Forces you to use it when ANY controller is plugged in. If a controller is plugged into the computer, 360 controller or not, its going to be forced to use the '360 Controller Support', which is what breaks the compatibility.
    • No point in it at all. You can download the freeware version of Xpadder, or buy something like Pinnacle Game Profiler that allows you to play PC games with a controller.

    But no, endermen can already teleport. They shouldn't be able to throw you too. Instead of 1 MOB having lots of special traits, there should be other MOBs with their own characteristics.


    Except they only aggro by looking directly at them. Usually when you have a monster like that (that ignores you unless you bother it), it should be usually more powerful than other agressive mobs. They can already pick up blocks, why can't they pick you up? :tongue.gif:

    I think that each mob should get a second ability. Like Skeletons can sometimes do a dodge or sidestep, to your slash or arrow barely misses. Or Zombies should be able to do a grab thing where they hold onto you try to bite you, but you can easily knock them off. Cave spiders should be able to climb ceilings and drop down ontop of you, while regular spiders should be able to fire web at you.

    Just my ideas. :tongue.gif:

    Honestly I think the hunger system enhances the adventuring aspect. It makes exploring caves actually somewhat, doable for me. Pre-1.8 I would never go out into a cave, and only battled mobs on my private, well lit island. Mostly because I felt like if I'm going to make a mistake, all the ore I mine and all my stuff is basically gone, so, I didn't do it, and limited myself to private, small mines that have torches every couple of blocks, and usually never go down very deep.

    Now I'm a bit braver in exploring, because I know that a single hit won't cause a massive problem in the long run.

    The only issue is the rare occasion I can't find any animals to hunt or can't build a farm for one reason or another.

    I know they are supposed to be arms in a robe, but the current positioning it just looks... wrong. :x
    Maybe if the sleeves were a bit apart and you could see hands between the sleeves it would look better?

    But this wasn't just a mindless hate thread either.
    I stated what I liked (The Mushroom Biomes, and the attacking style of that new Nether mob, Nether Buildings.)
    I said what I didn't like (pretty much just NPCs)
    Then I said what I was pretty much neutral about (the Snow Golems feel like bonus extra content for Christmas 2011 after the full release).

    Then I mentioned my concerns about future updates due to the somewhat limited amount of time until Minecon, and the full release.

    I saw lots of videos on the patch, and a lot it just seems like the wrong thing to add at this time.

    The Good
    The Mushroom Biome is awesome. Though I feel the 'Mooshroom' need more mushroom counterparts, Mushroom Creepers perhaps?
    One idea I had is that the Mushroom Biome could be incredibly rare, but contained under it are special caves that contain unique treasure. Just an idea.

    The Bad Ugly
    The NPCs, I actually REALLY, don't like. To be honest, they look like a brown Squidward with massive breasts. Needless to say I really don't like them. I'll probably turn structure generation off.

    The... uhhh... yeah...
    Snowmen seem like they should be part of a post-release Christmas related pack for purchase later.
    The new buildings in the Nether are cool, but those weird flying 'flame tornadoes' just feel like a weird choice. Their combat style is interesting, and three small non-exploding fireballs make it different from the Ghast, but the design itself is just... weird.


    Minecraft is supposed to come out during Minecon, which seems a bit limiting given the amount of content that seems like Minecraft will need before or at release. A.K.A, finish the combat overhaul, attacking animations, bosses, NPCs, more water content, finish the Endermen, etc.

    Wood. Filled with horrible speckles that make it look just as terrible as the original cobblestone texture. It makes the only blocks worth building with be brick, which is somewhat rare, or sandstone.
