FlowerChild, would it be possible to make hardcore bedding optional (only sleeping, not spawn)?

    Sigh...

This argument is probably the only zombie that frightens FC...

Anyway upon checking the MCPatcher thread for an unrelated reason, I found that FC is already aware and fixing it for the next release. SO OMG I CAN TOTALLY RELAX NOW, I NEED THE TOILET

See? Everything is going to be OK. ;)

I loved connected textures, they were great for multiple textures per blocks, added some great variety and organic feel to the world, please don't take them away :(

Calm down, if there are two people I have faith in keeping Minecraft awesome, it's FlowerChild and Kahr. Be patient.

I added them manually. Why, does it work better if you add them with MCPatcher?

MCPatcher doesn't like it if you add mods manually, then patch with the texture mods.

Best thing to do is use MCPatcher to do all of the .jar patching.

I thought this was supposed to be MCPatcher compatible...

Did you add ModLoader and BTW with MCPatcher, or manually?

I've also updated the 1.4.7 version to fix a problem with the latest version of Better than Wolves.

Thanks, Kahr, you're beyond awesome for this.

I've released an update to fix this. Grab 2.4.5_04 from here under the "MCPatcher for Minecraft 1.4.7 and earlier" section. Don't use the 3.0.3_01 version, that's for 1.5.1.

Kahr, you are beyond awesome. Thanks for this.

Hence, I think fans of the mod have come to trust me as someone who will never mess with their worlds...or my own. It's one of the things about BTW as a mod that makes it rather unique amongst the others out there that have no issues treating them as disposable.

The fact that you maintain "older" versions of some of the blocks in the mod (even at the expense of valuable block IDs) is also testament to this, and appreciated.

Only way I've gotten these (MC Patcher and Forge) to work together has been to patch with MC Patcher first, then have it add in Forge Universal as a mod.

Well, keep in mind that I don't play a lot of Forge mods (look at my sig...), just TC3 with a couple others in that world.

What I have done is used MCPatcher to patch Minecraft with Forge Universal in the /mods/1.x.x folder and then put the other mods just in the /mods folder (without patching), and I haven't had any issues.

I also do not use NEI or any other mods that use the /coremods folder, so I do not know if that is an issue or not.

YMMV, of course, but it seems to work for me.

Look at the tanned studded leather you just brought up. For tanned leather, one needs a cauldron. For which to work, one needs either a hibachi, or netherwrack - both of which require having visited the nether in any case, and before that collected enough obsidian -with a diamond pick no less - to make the portal in the first place.

I would just like to point out that this is not the case. The cauldron can be used with logs as well. It's horribly inefficient, and requires constant maintenance, but it is possible to use it for some things before going to the Nether.

It's not optimal, but it is possible.

Really? I thought MCPatcher doesn't work with Forge. Is it compatible now or something?

Edit: You sure it's mossy cobble? Talking about the path-looking blocks by your farmhouse/animal barn. I'm using JS and my mossy cobble (or bricks, for that matter) doesn't look like that at all :(

    Yes, MCPatcher works with Forge.

Yes, the "grassy flagstone" block is a ctm texture for the top surface of mossy cobblestone.

Thanks for these links. I've been putting together a pack for MineFantasy, but became discouraged by the shear number of blocks I was going to need to texture, let-alone items. These will help alot when I get back to it.

    No problem.

Yeah, I've been looking at Mine Fantasy as well--seems like a good 'TFC-lite' addition.

A lot of the textures in those packs are combinations of John Smith, Conquest, and this pack:

I find that the noise is the feature effect in this pack. It gives it that gritty, coarse feeling that's rare in other packs...

    Agreed.

The 'grainy,' 'pixelated' style used is the reason I like these textures. Restricted-palette, 'pixel art' textures look flat and dull, and there are plenty around in that style.

While there may be individual textures that could benefit from a bit of tweaking, the use of noise and the overall style look fine to me.
