How do you funnel them? You can't use water (endermen will teleport away), so you'd need a ton of pistons. I know there are working designs that funnel with tons pistons. This design tries to do it without so many pistons and circuitry.

4 walls. Since endermen don't climb walls like spiders do, walls will funnel endermen down to a death spot just fine.

All you have to do is drop them onto hoppers. Create spawn pads, funnel them down to hoppers that are the appropriate distance. No need to place thousands of water buckets or build anything but the funnel, spawn pads and drop area.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you aren't simply killing the Endermen with fall damage? It's faster and more reliable, doesn't require you to do all this building etc.

posted a message on Distance Flown?
    Quote from MauveCloud»

According to the Minecraft Wiki, the "Distance Flown" statistic is defined as "Distance traveled upwards and forwards at the same time, while more than one block above the ground." However, at least in 1.7.10, Minecraft seems a bit flaky about what counts as "ground" - I just discovered that not only does walking up my Carpenter's Wedge Slopes (from the "Carpenter's Blocks" mod) increase that statistic, just walking up birch wood stairs (which exist in vanilla Minecraft!) increases it.

Edit: on a second try, I wasn't able to reproduce the results with birch wood stairs, but still, I'd say the Minecraft Wiki definition is sufficient to question the logic of someone claiming cheats just because of a non-zero "Distance Flown" statistic.

If you had solid blocks below the birch stairs, attempt it again without the solid blocks below the stairs so that you are only walking on stairs with nothing underneath. It's possible the game does not recognize transparent blocks as ground, and stairs are not considered solid blocks.

posted a message on is there velocity in the bow?

If your question is whether or not distance affects the amount of damage an arrow deals, the answer is no. As long as arrows are fired with the same amount of charge they will deal the same amount of damage. Fully charged arrows deal 9 damage normally with a chance to deal 10 damage. Doesn't matter how far they travel. Keep in mind that mobs have natural armor, which is the reason it might seem to take more hits than it should to kill mobs. Additionally, since there is no wind resistance in Minecraft a projectile will never lose its horizontal speed, therefore it will not lose velocity in the sense that you are thinking. Possibly reasons it might take more hits for you to kill an enemy at different distances can vary anywhere from you missing a burning target that you thought you hit to the Punch affect causing some mobs to take fall damage from the knockback. But distance does not affect the damage an arrow deals.

I always place torches on the right as I go in this way torches on my left means I'm facing the way out. If I need additional light to avoid mobs spawning I place them on the floor and I know to avoid these for direction indicators.

This is exactly what I do and it usually works well.

One thing to remember is that you can always tunnel straight back up to the surface if you are hopelessly lost. It is slightly possible that you might tunnel up under a small lava lake. This isn't necessarily fatal but you'll have to make sure you have full health and are ready to replace the block above you quickly if it turns out to be lava.

TotR. Torches on the Right. It's a rule I LIVE by in Minecraft and it never fails.

How would I go about adding someone on the Minecraft PC?

A server must be obtained for the players to play on which can either be rented from a 3rd party or hosted by any of the players on their own computer, then any players who wish to play together must connect to the same server while the server is running. They will enter the same world at that point.

    • Any additional things you want to say: I'd likely prefer someone around my age, but as long as you are mature I don't mind too much. I am personally very survival focused and do a lot of mechanical things like setting up farms and strip mining while I lack in creativity. I can pair up with someone who is creative themself to make up for that weakness of my own, or pair up with someone else like myself to result in very quickly becoming established and properly prepared in the world. Either works for me. I prefer to work as a pair with someone else rather than as neighbors and don't enjoy pvp. Bonus points for Pokemon fans.

Actually chickens can't swim when submerged in water. They will just sit there and drown, so water elevators are a not an option for them. In fact I don't they they actually 'jump' at all when in water which is what allows other mobs to swim up in water.

If the OP can get a block of netherack that makes a good cooker for animals.

Chickens actually do swim as all of my egg farms in normal worlds consist of a bunch of chickens in a pool kept up with signs that I can just run around under and gather eggs. Since it's skyblock, there is no netherrack either. I build a device I hoped would work with the pigs, but the pigs ended up getting cooked. Luckily, I've gotten 3 cows to spawn on my pasture since then, and the contraption I was going to use for the pigs works perfectly with cows. Would still be interested in something that might work with pigs, but my problem is now solved.

EDIT: To clarify though, I do believe baby chickens will drown in water and I believe water elevators dont work since I dont think adult chickens jump high enough to get to the next water block.

I think that something like that would work for cows or chickens but it would be hard to get it to work with pigs since both the adults and piglets are between 1/2 and 1 block high.

This is why I'm looking for something that would work. I could just use the piston method I guess.

A chicken cooker uses at least two hoppers (five iron ingots each) and, unless you enjoy the constant ticking of a redstone clock, comparators which require nether quartz. Those kind of resources might just not be a possibility if you play skyblock.

Indeed, thank you. I have no access to quartz at all and hoppers are not something I'm out to make right now. At best, I can make 1 hopper to collect the drops from the pigs but I would have to raise my mob dropper up 1 block and start beating zombies to death for more iron ingots. I'm basically just looking for something I can breed pigs with and kill them with fire or lava that I extend from my stone generator. I know that you used to be able to use water to float up adult animals and have the same water stream push babies into a 1 block gap with lava above it to kill them when they grow up, but for some reason I feel like I heard this doesn't work anymore? If not I might be able to work something out where I hold back the lava with a piston and simply manually open and close the piston when I want to cook the babies...
