We are updating our server, currently running with 1.6.4 with Mekanism 5.7.0, and are considering putting in Mekanism 6.0.0. What is not clear is what if anything this would do to our current world - have there been enough worldgen changes to make this a bad idea? What effects would upgrading to the dev version have on our current world, and is there a 'best' way to do so?
Natura trees do not appear to be rendering for me, although their shadows are there. This is particularly noticeable on the sakura trees (because they're very pink), and the humungous redwoods - on my current server, I live in one, and the tree-shadow is there, but no tree...
Is there any ways to get the toggle sneak mod to work in 1,2.4, trying a survival map called skyblock and my fingers are in pain because I always have to hold that sneak key, can't believe its not default supported by the game itself
While waiting for an update, you might try one of the other modpacks that has a toggle-crouch that have already been updated. Currently using this one: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/355537-124-controlpack-autosneakrunautotoolsmartfurnacelookbehindlots-more-v49 - please note that in controlpack, the toggle is capslock, not left shift (which I actually prefer) and that if you have a mods that use cntl or C for something, you might not be able to get into controlpack setup with the default shortcut (although you can still get there through the Settings screen).
I've been building an elevated railway on my current SMP server, and trying to do it without a toggle was both killing my hand and resulted in a couple of unnecessary deaths, so I sympathize.
Having a problem with Improved Chat and Rei's Minimap.
I have the following mods:
OptiFine
Toggle Sneak (Your version)
ModLoader
InventoryTweaks
Rei's Minimap
But when I install Improved Chat after these mods, it works, but gets rid of Rei's Minimap. Anyone able to help?
A workaround, for the people who can't seem to get Rei's and ICM working together (some people have problems, some don't, I don't know why...): the most recent stable of What's My Light Level by iPeer [http://www.minecraft...able-15-17-mar/] replaces the same class that causes the conflict between Rei's and ICM (currently ais.class), and has compatibility for them both built in. Install the three mods sequentially, Rei's, then ICM, then WMLL, and all three should work together. Make certain all three are the most recent versions (Rei's 30_03, ICM 2.5.1, and WMLL Stable15.) If you really don't want WMLL's onscreen display, just toggle through display options with F4 until it goes away.
Also, always install Optifine LAST, it's aware of most other mods it would conflict with, and rendering breaks if something else overwrites one of its classes. Modloader is not super picky about when it's installed, but I always install it first. InvTweaks doesn't need to be installed at all, just drag the zip into your /.minecraft/mods/ folder, and modloader will handle it.
I dont need to retype it but can ya update Chat logger for 1.2.3? It havent been updated since beta 1.5
As other people have already pointed out repeatedly: go back and read WD's last post - he is currently working to incorporate Chat Logger functionality INTO ImprovedChat.
I very much doubt Chrismack is wanting to take time out of working on his own chat mod (now that WD is back and active again) to duplicate something already being worked on by someone else; he was doing unofficial updates because WD was missing in action.
Have patience, what you want is being worked on and will (probably) come. And please (this applies to everyone, not just you), people who put up requests need to read the entire thread, not just replies directed specifically at them.
this is never-before-seen(for me anyway )i have a black screen AFTER i load a world. the menu appears i load my world and whablam!!!balck screen T_T can anyone help me please?
Hardware:Radeon X1300/X1550 series
Software : Catalyst version : 10.2
I could be incorrect, but I believe you are out of luck. GLSL is an OpenGL scripting language which is poorly supported on all but the most recent AMD hardware and software; you are both using very out of date drivers (I believe current version of catalyst is 11.1?) and an old R520 based board which has no support for anything later than a base OpenGL 2.0 implementation.
tl;dr: This /certainly/ isn't going to work with your current drivers, and very probably won't work even if you update them.
have you been able to get this to work under just leopard (10.5.8) or is that impossible?
I don't have a Leopard machine to test on currently, but other people have gotten it working under Leopard.
You need to make sure you have java 1.6 (aka SE 6) installed, and it needs to be the top (default) entry in your Java Preferences applet (in Applications | Utilities), or the patcher will not work. Without knowing what errors you're getting, I have no way to suggest anything further to you, other than, as I've mentioned elsewhere, if you have access to windows under bootcamp or a windows machine, you can 'cheat' by installing minecraft on it, patching it with the windows version, checking to see that it works, and then copying minecraft.jar to the <path>/minecraft/bin/ directory on your Mac - minecraft.jar is completely portable between platforms.
I'm nearly sure this conflicts with Scroll the Sky, too? I installed all my mods, then installed my patches (I class this as a patch since you do more than just drag and drop), and Scroll the Sky didn't work.
I went back to the clean version of minecraft, installed all my mods and patches again but left this one out, and Scroll the Sky works :sad.gif:.
To the best of my knowlege, 1) the most recent version of Scroll the Sky requires the 303 modloader, which isn't compatible with the current version of Zan's (he will be releasing a 303 modloader version sometime soon). And 2) Scroll the Sky hasn't been updated for 1.2.6 yet, anyway, unless I've missed it, so it shouldn't work (or work reliably) at all, right now.
Also, Xau, I just wanted to report a small (?) bug, nothing that can't be worked around but just an odd function, when I hit "Run Minecraft" from the patcher the game loads up and works fine in SSP, but if I attempt to log in to SMP it always fails. If I run minecraft normally, SMP works fine, it's only if I start minecraft from the "Run Minecraft" button.
I'm guessing it's because that button skips the login screen? Dunno. Not a big deal, just kinda confusing is all.
Correct, the 'Run Minecraft' button does not log you in to minecraft.net's authentication server, so you will not be able to play on any SMP server UNLESS that server is set to not require authentication. You are running in what the vanilla launcher calls 'offline mode'. Xau has said before the button is there to make it easy to test and make sure the patch worked, it's not really supposed to be a replacement launcher.
ALL hd texture packs work if you just uncheck custom water and lava before patching
I know; I'm sorry if it looked like I implied they didn't, I was just being precise since that's the exact (and only) combo I've tested the latest versions iwth.
As always, make sure you have a texture pack of the same 'resolution' (16x16, 32x32, 64x64, etc) set in Minecraft before using Xau's patcher, or you will get the Evil Black Screen of I Can't Run Minecraft.
Zan's Mod 0.8.7 is working for me with Minecraft 1.2.6, under OS X 10.6.4, with the fiat that the mac installer script doesn't work properly in my shell, so I run the patch commands manually (this is something I always do and wouldn't apply to most Mac installs).
Also using MrMessiah's MrMMods v1.4 (for BetterGrass and AO) and Xau's HD Texture fix 1.1.9_03 and DVan's Brown & Broom 1.2_01 Classic (with custom water and lava UNCHECKED).
Xau's 1.1.9_03 and DVan's Brown & Broom 1.2_01 Classic is working for me with Minecraft 1.2.6, with custom water and lava UNCHECKED, under OS X 10.6.4. Also using MrMessiah's MrMMods v1.4 (for BetterGrass and AO) and Zan's Mod 0.8.7 (minimap and improved chat).
If it wasn't obvious from my last post, v1.4 is working for me with Minecraft 1.2.6, using BetterGrass and AO. under OS X 10.6.4. Also using Xau's HD Texture fix 1.1.9_03 and DVan's Brown & Broom 1.2_01 Classic (with custom water and lava UNCHECKED) and Zan's Mod 0.8.7 (minimap and improved chat).
