While MineVenture is a new server, just now getting it's feet wet in the business, but we believe that you will like the direction we are taking our server. After playing with multiplayer servers for a while, the server owner decided he wanted a place that could appeal to multiple people, by allowing them to make decisions for the server through proposing features/mods/etc and voting on them. Ranks
Guest- This is the very basic rank of the server. You will get it as soon as you log in. With this rank, you will be unable to build, chat, or leave the tutorial area
Citizens- This is the second rank. You will get this after completely the tutorial area. With this rank, you will be allowed to build, chat, roam the map, and participate in most server activities.
Beta Testers- This is a group of people who will have access to new areas of the server in order to test new minigames, mods, etc. They areve ry similar to the member rank with a few perks.
Distinguished Citizens- These are trusted members of the community who have distinguished themselves from the common server goers by being active and a positive force on the server. Administrators will promote members to this at anytime.
*Asking for any rank, besides applying for Beta Tester, will earn you an automatic ban*
Staff
The Staff of the Server are knowledgeable, helpful people who strive to make sure you get the best experience possible out of a server. They work 'round the clock to keep everything fun. safe, and in proper working order.
Board of Appeals Member- This is special member entrusted to review the appeals of banned players.
Moderators- People here are entrusted to be watch dogs of the Server on a daily basis. They deal with member disputes and rule breakers,
Administrators- These people take care of the server on a technical basis, and have a very strong knowledge of commands and plug-ins configuration/debugging. They deal with implementing plug-ins, fixing bugs, and major member management.
BOSS MAN- This guy is responsible for the Staff, communication with BeastNode, the website, and paying the bills so the power doesn't go out.
Beta Testing
Because we are such a new server, we will require some initial Beta Testing to make sure all of our plug-ins are good and ready for an open server. Please be aware that this first world will be completely experimental and the will be deleted at the end of the testing period! This server is very new (space purchased an hour ago). It plans to be both suitable for creative and survival/faction play by using Multiverse and many other plugins to increase the "rate of fun" had by the members. We will be using a democratic method of making decisions on how the server will be run and what kind of features the server will have. Users will be able to propose their own ideas for the server and let other players vote on them, and if the idea is popular enough, it will become reality. Very small server space at the moment, but will be upgraded based on interest and active users.
About the Owner
I have been playing Minecraft since the Alpha days and playing on servers for a while as well. I have owned my own server and been an Administrator on another one. I opened my own around a year ago or so, but I had to shut it down do to financial constraints. After the closing of one of my favorite, smaller servers, I decided I wanted to feature all of my favorite ways of play, and combine a system of voting, so there would be a better way for the Server Citizens to make sure that their ideas were being heard by everyone, not just the Staff. I am somewhat knowledgeable with plugins, groups, or permissions, but I will need the help of people who are very confident with their ability to use plugins. Unfortunately, I am in college at the moment, so my time working with the Server can be very limited at times. Both of the above are reasons why I need a knowledgeable, mature staff who will make sure the server succeeds and goes above and beyond expectations.
Question Time
I don't really like the world 'application' because to me it sounds so final. Just think of this as me asking you a few questions to get to know you. I would like to ask that you put some thought into these questions though. I want to see something that shows you care about getting the position to make this server last, not answers that were quickly put down in a minute or two. If I see any replies that look like they were done in a few seconds, I will immediately disregard your application. I expect all of my staff to be mature and know the time to have fun and the time to buckle down and deal with problems/get work on the server. If you become part of my Staff, you will be expected to be professional when dealing with members. I will get with you and explain the full role of your jobs and rules that you must follow at all times, when and if you are accepted.

The owner is away and you have been left in charge of the Server Staff. You see a Moderator abusing his power by destroying someones house/becoming an unfair advantage with regards to factions. You tell him to stop, but he continues.

What do you wish to bring: I want to bring whatever is needed to the server. I have an excellent concept of building and have built entire spawns and towns in the past. I also no how games and plug-ins work, so 'd love to be able to help get people excited for those types of things. I'm very versatile, so I can do what is needed at the current point in time. I just want to help the server grow into a community that people envy.
Skills: I believe I am a pretty good builder and I am also pretty knowledgeable in my understanding of plug-ins, groups, and permissions, since I have owned and administrated my own server. I have been had to debug many plug-ins and feel confident in my ability to do that.
