Due to a small set of inadequate History class notes, I've officially been told by my loving father that I'm "not going to play Minecraft until I'm out of high school. End of story." Have fun, everyone! I hope to see you in two and a half years!

Everyone, guess what! I've found out how to leave chairs safely!

First you exit the game once you sit down. Upon re-entering, you can exit the chair without being kicked or teleported.

Character name, last names are not required:

    Reuben

What race is your character? (Can be a human, or you can be creative and come up with your own race. Make sure that you give your race a weakness and a strength. Also describe what your race looks like in great detail, feel free to write a separate post explaining everything fully.)
He's mostly human, as the mutation inside him is majorly suppressed. He still retains his ability to walk near-silently, along with some better night vision.

Explain your character’s backstory, early years, etc.: (Please have at least 3 paragraphs of information here, make it as specific as possible.)

Reuben Krasnov was born in 2034, to a Ukrainian couple. He was raised in a small wooden house in Ukraine’s Carpathian mountains, away from the turmoil of the outside world. His mom taught him how to read and write in English, so that he could communicate with non-Ukrainians when he was grown. When he was seven years old, Reuben’s father taught him how to use snares, knives, and crossbows to hunt. He proved to be a natural, bringing down larger game animals than many would think possible. His father started calling him “Vovk”, as he was as efficient and merciless as the Ukrainian wolves that shared the mountains with him.
When Reuben was nine, his parents were killed. The boy never knew how, because he was out hunting at the time. He came back home with a pair of rabbits, and saw that the door to his house was broken off of its hinges. Rushing inside, Reuben discovered the mangled corpses of his parents. His father was clutching an old engraved family cane, covered in blood. Reuben burned his parents’ bodies.
Reuben lived alone in the Carpathian Mountains until he was 14 years old. He spoke to no one, and relied on his intelligence and survival skills to live through the harsh Ukrainian winters. He became a true survivalist through this, mastering traps and marksmanship with his crossbow. He even learned rudimentary first aid when a fall down a steep hill broke his ribs and his right arm. He never did develop good social skills through this, though, understandably.
At the age of 14, in winter, a large snowstorm blanketed the Carpathians completely. Reuben was at home at the time, and his cottage was completely covered by the snow. He packed an old backpack of his father’s, carrying with him his dad’s cane, his crossbow and knife, some snare wire, some old books of his mother’s, and enough dried food to last a few weeks. He knew that his home wouldn’t be able to recover from the harsh winter, and decided to try his luck and descend the mountain.
To his surprise, Reuben found other settlements away from his Carpathian home. And with these settlements came work. Reuben never stayed in one place too long, believing that he couldn’t fit in, and traded in the furs and meat of the mutant animals he killed along his travels. Eventually a man stopped Reuben on a road and told him that his companions were looking for him. Confused, Reuben went with the man and learned that he was part of a group of mercenaries. He was told that his expertise with hunting could make him a valued member of the group. Of course, Reuben had no idea how the group had seen him hunt or anything. But that didn’t matter to him, as he thought that he was part of something greater, and could be part of a community at last.
Reuben stayed in the mercenary group for years, mostly getting hired as guards or recon for various towns in the area. Eventually, Reuben’s mercenary group was hired out by an aspiring psychopath named Simon, who intentionally sent the group on a suicide mission to test the strength and defenses a town he was trying to take control of. Reuben was sent out as reconnaissance, and therefore missed most of the bloodshed. As it turns out, the town had more soldiers and weapons than the mercenaries could contend with. Reuben was the only survivor.
Reuben returned to Simon’s territory, and confronted him angrily about the incident. Simon responded by taking a small dagger and slashing at Reuben’s face with it. It left a nasty gash across Reuben’s right eye, which he now covers with a patch to conceal the damage.
Reuben managed to escape Simon with his life, although he was badly shaken by the incident. He started to distrust everyone he met, a distrust that was justified by Simon’s attempts on his life through mercenaries and assassins. Reuben survived by the skin of his teeth, and managed to secretly board a ship leaving a Ukrainian harbor, without the knowledge of Simon.
Unfortunately for Reuben, one of Simon’s agents saw that Reuben was boarding the boat. He planted an explosive onboard, which was set to detonate as the boat was leaving port. The bomb wasn’t made properly, however, and didn’t go off. The ship was months into its journey, and going past a freezing cold isle, when the bomb did detonate. The ship sunk, and only Reuben – who always carried his belongings with him and prepared for an attack – survived, breaking open his cabin window and swimming to safety. He stayed on that island for a week, getting over hypothermia, when he decided that he would have to search for human life, for a job, and for a new start.
This “new start”, as it turned out, came in the form of a place called “The Cradle.” Reuben met a man named Theodore at an inn there, and the two hit it off after Theodore made a casual attempt on Reub’s life. They lived together for a while, until a mutant named Cody killed Theodore. While Reuben had no solid evidence that Cody was the culprit, he had a hunch and acted on it. Reuben managed to blow a hole in Novelsk, Cody’s personal underground fortress. He and a couple allies killed Cody and his accomplice, but not without casualties themselves. Reuben was the only survivor of the assault.
Reuben thought that the action was all over, but he was wrong. Somehow Cody had managed to create a clone of himself, complete with all of his mutant abilities. Reuben realized that the only way for him to possibly defeat Cody once and for all was to harness the power of the mutation himself. Reuben traveled across The Cradle, looking for some way to infect himself. Though it took months, Reuben got his chance. A young mutant willingly infected Reuben with the virus before Reuben killed him.
Now a mutant, Reuben thought that he would get the chance to strike at Cody and get revenge for the deaths of his friends. He was wrong. Cody avoided him, and as Reuben became more and more consumed with the thought of vengeance, he didn’t realize the people around him growing more and more worried about his condition. Reuben realized that he’d have to either stop hunting Cody or break his ties with those he cared about. He faked his own death a few days later.
Reuben never did get his revenge. People around him knew him only as a threat now, and he realized that he’d need to get away and learn to control his impulses and thoughts if he wanted to survive.
Without any final goodbyes, Reuben traveled to the north of The Cradle, and built himself a ship about the wreckage of the one he crashed in. Reuben sailed off on a new journey, to find a way to control his mutation.
Two years went by with no word from Reuben in The Cradle. Then, suddenly, a small boat appeared on Jericho’s shores. Reuben was piloting the vessel, his eye clear and brighter than ever. Reuben’s quest for control had been successful, his mutant side mostly suppressed. Jericho residents welcomed Reuben back, and he soon became a respected member of Jericho’s guard. Eventually, he became the guard captain. He never took much to rift portals, thinking them dangerous things. In fact, Reuben only went into them when absolutely necessary. Reuben didn’t know much about the situation with Blackwater and Roanoke until he saw a nasty fight break out between a member of his own guard and a trader from Blackwater. Reuben broke up the two, and realized that the conflict between Jericho residents and the Blackwater and Roanoke settlers, who were often viewed as traitors, was worse than he had thought.
In 2071, Reuben’s skills as a hunter were put to the test. With food scarce, the Ukrainian often led small groups on hunting expeditions. They were often out for days, collecting enough meat to feed Jericho for a few weeks. Reuben did this often, which honed his skills with a knife, crossbow, and traps which had begun to deteriorate. On one such expedition, Reuben’s party was ambushed by a large group of bandits. The rest of his group, mostly boys and young men, were slaughtered and stripped of their belongings. Reuben, recognized as the leader of his party, was brought before the leader of the bandits, a figure in a gas mask. The two engaged in a verbal spar, during which the two gained a grudging respect of each other. The bandit leader ordered Reuben brought to his chambers. Once inside, the leader told Reuben that he was going to die. Reuben had other plans, however. Realizing that it was weird for the bandit leader to be wearing a mask, Reuben decided to take it off. He lunged forward, ripping off the mask in one clean move. Under the mask was a brown-haired girl named Devon.
Knowing full well that any attempt made on Reuben’s life would essentially ensure that he would scream about her gender, Devon decided to let him live. But she did keep Reuben captive. The two got along well enough for a master and captive, but after being kept there for months, Reuben escaped. It was close to midnight when he tried to do so. Reuben quietly strangled the bandit assigned to guard him, and took the man’s keys to get out of his handcuffs. From there it was easy to leave the camp undetected.
When Reuben returned to Jericho, days later, he realized just how bad the conflict with Blackwater and Roanoke had become. His people were gathered around a rift portal, in full battle gear. Reuben was shocked when he saw them all enter the portal. Reuben decided to keep his distance, and hiked off to a long-abandoned town known as Trius.
Reuben lived in Trius for a while, keeping the town’s immense radio system online to keep tabs on the happenings in the three towns. Reuben never considered helping any of the cities, as he felt that this conflict was not his to take part in. So Reuben lived alone in a city-fortress.
When Reuben heard about a battle between Roanoke guards and Jericho residents at Jericho, he knew he had to help his town. So Reuben ventured off, taking only his armor and his crossbow. When he reached Jericho the next day, though, there wasn’t anything left of the town. It was simply gone. Angrily, Reuben went to Trius, packed up his stuff, and built yet another boat. He sailed away quietly.
When Reuben returned the next year, Blackwater was the only town left standing. Reuben decided that it was his duty as a Jericho resident, as well as the former head of Jericho’s guard, to give his city retribution. So he set his crossbow sights on Blackwater. Whoever he has to align himself with, or kill, he will. So long as his revenge is gotten.

Any close friends or family your character knew or presently knows? (Can be actual players on the server.)

    He knows Devon, AKA Miss_Iza.

How old is your character, does their age reflect their behavior?

He's 39 at this point, although he acts much older. He's very calm and collected, very perceptive, and wise beyond his years.

Thoroughly describe your character’s appearance, do they have any distinctive marks or features?

Reuben has a rugged look to him. He's 5'11". Reuben, while pleasant to look at, wouldn't be considered handsome. He's very fit. His most distinguishing feature is the scar running from his forehead down his right eye.

How does your character act, if poorly is there a reason for this?

Reuben generally doesn't like bad people, but wants revenge enough that he's willing to put aside these feelings. He hates annoying people, and though he's learned how to handle social situations better, he's still a bit awkward.

Does your character excel in a certain area, special skills, etc.: (Nothing OP, please.)

He's intelligent and perceptive, and is very good at tracking and shooting with his crossbow. He's a natural survivalist and he tries to be prepared for every situation he could potentially get himself into.

Does your character have a fear or hatred of something, why?

Reuben hates mutants, as he believes that they ruined part of his life in The Cradle. He also hates the town of Blackwater, and all of its residents by extension.

Please write a long and specific piece of your character in great danger or pain, this is the backbone of your application, make it good.

The bullet glanced off of Reuben's chin. Blood flowed from the cut easily and Reuben teared up. "You goddamn fool," Reuben snarled, "I didn't have to kill you. Now, though..." The bandit shot at Reuben again, this bullet embedding itself in Reuben's shoulder. Reuben jerked back, obviously pained, with a look of grim determination playing across his face. Reuben pulled out his knife, a sharpened piece of steel with a handle, and got shot in the leg. Collapsing, Reuben let out a groan. Then Reuben let himself fall backwards, letting out a cry as his battered body hit the floor. The bandit walked over to him quickly, and got down close to put a bullet in Reuben's head. Reuben breathed raggedly, eyes fluttering. When the bandit lowered his face to meet Reuben's, Reuben didn't waste a moment. He opened the man's throat with his knife, and pushed the gun out of the bandit's hands in the man's confusion. Finally, with the threat at hand abated, Reuben allowed himself to slump into pleasant unconciousness.

Okay...lemme be the first to say it. This server isn't a medieval-themed roleplay. It says pretty explicitly on the first page that it takes place in the future, not the past. In fact, it makes it very clear exactly what the theme of the server is, so I don't know how you could be confused about it...Having characters with medieval skins or backgrounds isn't good. Krislann and Brittany, did you read the lore? Not to sound harsh, but your apps seem really out of place. Obviously in Brittany's case the app isn't yet complete, but you need to make sure to do a damn fine job of tying in your character's past with the server's lore.

    Just some thoughts.

    IC Information
Character name, last names are not required:

    Madrigal Evans

What race is your character? (Can be a human, or you can be creative and come up with your own race. Make sure that you give your race a weakness and a strength. Also describe what your race looks like in great detail, feel free to write a separate post explaining everything fully.)

Formerly human, now a brain in a robotic shell.

Explain your character’s backstory, early years, etc.: (Please have at least 3 paragraphs of information here, make it as specific as possible.)

Madrigal was in 2011. His father was an army engineer in the US military, while his mother was a naval officer. With his parents gone most of the time on-duty, Madrigal was left in the care of his aunt. Though his parents would stay with him for weeks at a time when off-duty, Madrigal remained alone with his aunt for the majority of his childhood. When his father was killed by an IED in Afghanistan in early 2014, Madrigal’s mother got cold. She rarely came home, and when she did she would get angry at the drop of a feather.
Madrigal had always thought of himself as being broken. He was emotionally detached and completely aware that this wasn’t normal. One night, while Madrigal’s aunt was washing dishes after putting Maddy to bed, she heard a cry. Coming up to his bedroom, she saw Madrigal sitting on his bed crying. “I’m broken,” he kept repeating between choked squeals, “I’m broken I’m broken I’m broken!” She rushed to his side and stroked his head, assuring him that he was a perfectly normal boy….Then she saw the blood on his hands.
As it turns out, Madrigal had developed a hobby. First, he would leave little nuts out on his windowsill. When squirrels and small birds came to get them, they would set off a contraption, which dropped the window down on top of them. It was generally a quick death. Once Madrigal found a new specimen, he’d take it down and skin it with his bare hands. He reveled in the juices and cool stuff he found inside the creatures, and always put their bodies in a shoe box in his closet…until the shoebox got too full, that is. Madrigal’s aunt, upon discovering he nephew’s gross hobby, sent him to a mental hospital. His mom didn’t even care.
Madrigal spent years in that mental hospital, growing into a teenager. He was eventually deemed psychologically stable, and was allowed to leave. He immediately enlisted in the military.
Madrigal became an intelligence officer for the US Army, quickly advancing through the ranks. He became a lieutenant at 26. Madrigal’s commanding officers often complemented him on his observations, tact, humility, and neatness. But everything he did right couldn’t make Madrigal’s superiors forget the lieutenant’s psych report. “Mentally unstable,” it said, “borderline schizophrenic.” Though Madrigal never saw the report, he was able to connect the dots about why his officers never promoted him to a more suiting rank. His anger at this made Madrigal unpredictable, and he was dishonorably discharged and court-martialed for gouging out the eyes of his commander.
In 2037, after a quiet life in another mental ward and effectively cut off from the rest of the world, Madrigal was released into the hands of a man in a suit. The man worked for IntraCorp, as it turned out. Madrigal was given cushy treatment and told, during his breakfast that next morning, that he was up for reassignment with the Army. Then he received a dart to the neck, and Madrigal Evans face-planted into his grits.
When Madrigal woke up, he wasn’t himself anymore. Nor was he an IntraCorp peacekeeper. During a raid against a little-known terrorist group known as “Vox Deus”, Madrigal’s peacekeeper was subdued and turned off using an EMP device. IntraCorp lost the battle, as well as most of their robots. Madrigal was the only one left intact, and because of this was deemed important by the terrorist group. A high-ranking member of the group (coincidentally, the same member who created the EMP device) was a former IntraCorp scientist named Albert Scohn. Scohn had been working on a robot of his own before the battle took place, but needed a peacekeeper to add the final component: a human brain.
Madrigal woke up in a shiny, bronze-shelled robotic body. He thought about wiggling his fingers, and their metal counterparts wiggled. Upon the realization that he was a robot, Madrigal screamed in outrage. It came out tinny.
Doctor Scohn taught Madrigal about his new self. He had complete control over the robotic body, which had a processing system the equivalent of 3 supercomputers running in parallel. Madrigal also had increased strength, and synthetic senses of smell, sight, hearing, and touch. Madrigal also had the power to taste through a group of artificial receptors in his mouth. This tasting tool wasn’t just for decoration, though. Madrigal’s brain needed a sustained amount of proteins to function at all. These proteins were only found in the human body. Upon stating this last fact, Scohn brought to Madrigal a corpse. He encouraged Madrigal to dig in. The cyborg did so, and spat out the human stuff immediately. The tissue wasn’t fresh enough to actually contain the nutrients needed for Madrigal’s survival. Madrigal learned that he needed to consume freshly-dead tissue in order to function. While rotten flesh tasted bitter and nasty to him, Madrigal enjoyed the taste of fresh human.
Madrigal, though thankful to Scohn for reawakening him, was also angry that humanity had been allowed to do things to him. Truly, Madrigal felt as powerless as one of the squirrels on his windowsill. So as a parting festivity, Madrigal slew and devoured every single member of Scohn’s group.
Madrigal took to the Wastes, killing every human that he came across and traveled with. Eventually Madrigal had created quite the reputation. People started talking about a murderous mutant, whose signature was leaving mutilated carcasses across the ruins of the USA.
Eventually Madrigal began to travel with a man named Leonard Skinner. Skinner was an aspiring musician, and Madrigal was forced to carry his equipment with him. Leonard, sick of aimlessly traveling, decided to settle down and make a life for himself. He chose to do so in a place known as "The Cradle" -- a place where, apparently, humanity was relatively well-off. Madrigal eagerly followed. After traveling for months and finally getting to The Cradle, Leonard created a small shack in a swamp and tasked Madrigal with bringing him some water to boil. Instead Madrigal snapped the man's neck and feasted on his entrails.
With a new quest in mind, Madrigal now awaits the opportunity to kill every last human in The Cradle.

Any close friends or family your character knew or presently knows? (Can be actual players on the server.)

    Nope.

How old is your character, does their age reflect their behavior?

Madrigal is 64 years old, though he acts like a child emotionally. He’s very logical, and never really gets angry anymore. He’s just…detached.

Thoroughly describe your character’s appearance, do they have any distinctive marks or features?

Madrigal is a bronze-shelled robot with a lot of exposed-looking wires running across his body. In reality, though, these wires are covered in ballistic glass, which is then coated with a fire-resistant coating. The only truly remarkable feature is Madrigal’s startling shininess. This robot cares about being clean, people!

How does your character act, if poorly is there a reason for this?

Madrigal acts like a stupid, mindless robot for most of the time. He’s cool and collected normally, and is generally able to think his way out of situations.

Does your character excel in a certain area, special skills, etc.: (Nothing OP, please.)

Increased intelligent, above-average strength, limited military experience. Also, he's a radio. :D

Does your character have a fear or hatred of something, why?

He hates humans and thinks that they have ruined the world! Madrigal also hates mutants, as they taste almost as bad as rotting meat.

Please write a long and specific piece of your character in great danger or pain, this is the backbone of your application, make it good.:

Madrigal looked out the window of the cafeteria. Looking at the gorgeous day only reminded him more of this whitewashed hell he was stuck in. Madrigal picked up the plastic knife he was supposed to be eating with, and drove it sharply into his left arm. The area numbed and Madrigal looked down. Barely an inch in. Madrigal sighed, even as sweat started to pour from his face. He pulled out the knife and looked at the wound. Nothing. Madrigal began to cry. “I’m broken,” he said lamely. He couldn’t feel. The open wound on his arm barely even throbbed with discomfort. Madrigal knew in his mind that he wasn’t healthy. He wasn’t normal. He couldn’t do a damn thing about it, and it made him sad.

Please insert an image of the skin your character will be using, direct links or inserted images please.: (This IS required.)

    Anything else to add?

Cut me a bit of slack with this app….It’s like 1 am and I’m half-asleep here. My sincerest apologies if the app is bad :L Also, this is delicious.
