posted a message on Pivoting Block
Let's say we have a dispenser firing arrows at a zombie approaching your wooden door. Suddenly, the zombie walks around the dispenser! What do you do? You make sure the dispenser is sitting on top of a "Pivoting Block".

The idea is that, you have a craftable block that you can set down and put another block on top of it. When the Pivoting Block is powered with Redstone,it rotates the block on top of it clockwise one time. Therefore, a block facing you could be turned to be facing towards your left. For most blocks, this wouldn't make a difference, but for Pistons and Dispenser, as well as blocks with a unique texture on one side, this could open up a lot of possibilities.

Not: The Pivoting Block would be placeable sideways and upside down for use with Pistons.

posted a message on Ocelot Pelts!
My idea started as an incentive to kill these Creeper repellents instead of taming them, and has evolved past that. So, when you kill Ocelots (perhaps killing them while holding Shears), they'll drop an item that looks like Leather reskinned to have an Ocelot pattern on it. My original idea was to have it attachable to any block essentially just to make the block look prettier. Imagine, turned the walls of your log cabin into an Ocelot-skin pattern. But what if they had a practical use as well? My thought is that adding Ocelot skin to a block upgrades it, to increase both fire-resistance and explosion resistance. I also thought, perhaps Ocelot pelts could be added to armor to increase its durability and its attractiveness, as well. What do you think?

posted a message on The Spawn Eggs disappointed me.
I was really hoping that they would be hatchable by firing from dispensers. That way, I could have a player on an adventure map fight pre-set enemies at pre-set locations. Just being able to manually place enemies, while useful, definitely could be brought farther.

    posted a message on Vultures
Hey! I was thinking that we needed a form of flight on Minecraft, and I brainstormed, selected, and advanced an idea: Vultures! Vultures would be a new animal in the Minecraft universe. You could ride and fly them!

    - Vultures would need a Saddle to ride. Once on, right click to take off and go back down. Jumping off from the height of flight would result in death. I’m debating whether the flight path should be uncontrollable (like riding a pig) or not.
    - Vultures would be indigenous to Desert Biomes. In other words, they would spawn in one and tend to stay near one.
    - Because Vultures eat things that are already dead, if you die near a Vulture it would come over and “eat” all of your dropped items. You can recover these items by killing the Vulture that “ate” them.
    - I’m not sure what Vultures should drop, besides your dropped items if any. Perhaps a Feather (because it’s a bird), a Raw Porkchop (as the meat from its last meal), or perhaps a completely new item, say a Talon or something, that could be used in later crafting.

I am a complete Minecraft newb, so feel free to comment or add on to any of the bullet points. I do really like this idea, and hope that it eventually becomes a Minecraft reality.
