If anyone has noticed, if you have a room filled with water, and there's a closed door on one side, and you open the door, water doesn't flow through. I find this extremely annoying. I understand signs and ladders not allowing water flow, as some people make traps and such with them, but could you allow water to flow through open doors? I would find this very useful in having Redstone open and close a door to allow or disallow water to flow into a chamber.
Me and my friend tried it, and it's possible, but we can't see eahother's chat and we don't spawn near eachother. However, my server log shows him as having logged in. My friend thinks that we're on the same server, but on different worlds. Is this true?
Alright, did any of you actually read my original question? Are we on different worlds in the same server, or are we just in different places on the same world?
One account would get the message, "Bad Login" and would not be able to get onto the server.
Well, this happens, but only if he's already on and I try to get on. If I'm on and he tries to get on, he can enter just fine. We assume it's because the account and server were created on his computer, not mine.

worldguard might be what your looking for...instead of making certain blocks unbreakable it can make entire zones unbreakable regardless of what blocks are in the zones..check here for more info Bukkit Forums: Worldguard
Thanks, that's actually what I think the server had... There was a town where you couldn't destroy anything and then an island where you could build and destroy and all that.
I saw a multiplayer Beta server where they had bricks that were invincible to visitors. I have no idea if this is a mod or not, and I have never actually downloaded a Mod, but I want this one, so could someone who recognizes my scant description tell me?
Hey, guys! I was watching YouTube videos about multiplayer servers, and I saw one where the players had a sort of town, everyone had their own shop selling different things, they had currency, and everyone basically helped everyone survive the night through selling and buying things they needed. I'm looking for a server like that. Does anybody know of one?
Hey! I was thinking that we needed a form of flight on Minecraft, and I brainstormed, selected, and advanced an idea: Vultures! Vultures would be a new animal in the Minecraft universe. You could ride and fly them!
- Vultures would need a Saddle to ride. Once on, right click to take off and go back down. Jumping off from the height of flight would result in death. I’m debating whether the flight path should be uncontrollable (like riding a pig) or not.
- Vultures would be indigenous to Desert Biomes. In other words, they would spawn in one and tend to stay near one.
- Because Vultures eat things that are already dead, if you die near a Vulture it would come over and “eat” all of your dropped items. You can recover these items by killing the Vulture that “ate” them.
- I’m not sure what Vultures should drop, besides your dropped items if any. Perhaps a Feather (because it’s a bird), a Raw Porkchop (as the meat from its last meal), or perhaps a completely new item, say a Talon or something, that could be used in later crafting.
I am a complete Minecraft newb, so feel free to comment or add on to any of the bullet points. I do really like this idea, and hope that it eventually becomes a Minecraft reality.

Yes, but in this server you could break certain blocks and others were invincible, and that's what I want.
