posted a message on Why can't my sister find my LAN world?

My sister and I wanted to make a LAN world again to play on. We used to do this a long time ago, but then one day we suddenly stopped being able to see each other's worlds when we opened them to LAN. Since then we've both gotten new computers, and decided to try again, but we still can't see each other on the server list.

I don't know what the problem is, but I'd like to resolve it. It only seems to be something wrong with Minecraft, because we can play Unturned LAN just fine. I'm not good with this sort of thing, so I don't know what other information to give you, but, can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

posted a message on Can someone explain to intervals for the Mining Fatigue debuff?
I know the Elder Guardian applies it once every 60 seconds. When does this 60 seconds start? Does it start when the Elder Guardian spawns, or is it relevant to the time of day (like apply at 0, 60, etc.), or something else?

I'm wondering because it would be really useful to me if the intervals for reapplying the buff where something like: always reapply at 00, 60, 120, 180, etc. or could be controlled in some other way.

posted a message on Can someone clarify the Elder Guardian/Mining Fatigue debuff to me?
How many blocks of space does the Elder Guardian need to exist? Essentially how big is it?

How is the debuff applied? I know the Elder Guardian applies it to you in intervals if you're within range. How long exactly is this range? And does that mean if you enter the range between two of the intervals, you won't be affected until the next interval comes around? Or is it always applied the instant you enter the range?

posted a message on Complete noob at Command Blocks, could someone help me with these two?
I just need to make two simple command blocks, and I have never worked with these things past super simple stuff like turning mob griefing off. I looked at the wiki and failed to figure it out, so I decided to come here, but I'm sure what I want is a lot simpler than it seems.

I need to make one command block that when activated spawns an Elder Guardian (that new mini boss mob from the new update) and then another command block that when activated kills/removes/deletes the previously spawned Elder Guardian.

Anyone wanna tell me how to do that?

posted a message on A couple of questions about mobs and enhantments/potions...
    1) If I give a zombie/skeleton an item with an enchantment, would the enchantment still apply? For example, if I threw a fire aspect sword at a zombie, could it set whatever it attacks on fire?

    2) If I use a splash potion to apply an effect to a mob, does the potion have a time limit? For example, would a fire resistant skeleton ever lose fire resistance (barring death)?

    Thanks!

posted a message on Pivoting Block
Let's say we have a dispenser firing arrows at a zombie approaching your wooden door. Suddenly, the zombie walks around the dispenser! What do you do? You make sure the dispenser is sitting on top of a "Pivoting Block".

The idea is that, you have a craftable block that you can set down and put another block on top of it. When the Pivoting Block is powered with Redstone,it rotates the block on top of it clockwise one time. Therefore, a block facing you could be turned to be facing towards your left. For most blocks, this wouldn't make a difference, but for Pistons and Dispenser, as well as blocks with a unique texture on one side, this could open up a lot of possibilities.

Not: The Pivoting Block would be placeable sideways and upside down for use with Pistons.

posted a message on Ocelot Pelts!
    Quote from Rebel562

My idea started as an incentive to kill these Creeper repellents instead of taming them, and has evolved past that. So, when you kill Ocelots (perhaps killing them while holding Shears), they'll drop an item that looks like Leather reskinned to have an Ocelot pattern on it. My original idea was to have it attachable to any block essentially just to make the block look prettier. Imagine, turned the walls of your log cabin into an Ocelot-skin pattern. But what if they had a practical use as well? My thought is that adding Ocelot skin to a block upgrades it, to increase both fire-resistance and explosion resistance. I also thought, perhaps Ocelot pelts could be added to armor to increase its durability and its attractiveness, as well. What do you think?

Also, perhaps using a Shear could take them off blocks as well for use elsewhere. Something I forgot to mention.

lol? alot better than using it as furniture -.-

The entire original point of this idea was for more intricate decoration than wool could offer. But personally, Creeper-proofing your house like that is overpowered in my opinion. The Ocelots that move around are a more reasonable Creeper repellent.

Agree this idea is way better. just put it by the door or as a curtains for the windows and no creepers will blow up yout house. :biggrin.gif:

I did not consider this. In my opinion, that feature is plausible but questionable.

How many "real" pictures do you see people use of themselves? Are you really Steve from Minecraft?
My pic is of Holo from Spice and Wolf because I am a fan of the show, my real gender is in my profile, you really think I'm some anime chick even though this is the REAL world?

Did I say you were an anime girl? No. I don't expect you to be who your picture says you are, but the best assumption I can make from your picture is that you are a girl. I'm not going to inspect every person's profile before I post about them. My profile picture is Steve because that is the default and I don't really want a profile picture. If you don't want people to make assumptions about you and your personality from your profile picture, then don't have one or have one that actually reflects you.

lolololol Empyre's a guy :laugh.gif: You should judge people's genders by their profiles, not their profile pics. :tongue.gif:

If I cared enough to give myself a profile picture, it wouldn't consist soley of a girl, mostly because I'm not a girl. If your profile picture is a girl, I'm going to assume you are a girl, because that's what you're profile picture is telling me.

Thanks for all the positive comments! Except for that one girl who I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. Also, based on the first sentence, I feel like I'm in the Suggestions Forum.

I was really hoping that they would be hatchable by firing from dispensers. That way, I could have a player on an adventure map fight pre-set enemies at pre-set locations. Just being able to manually place enemies, while useful, definitely could be brought farther.
