posted a message on [1.7.3] Aether Collaboration Mod - V1.02 - NEW MOBS, FIXES, ITEMS AND FEATURES!
    My thoughts on the mod:

Prior to actual work on it beginning, there were a lot of very ambitious ideas for mechanics that could be introduced through the Aether.

Minecraft's re-playability comes about in large part because of small mechanics that can be translated into a multitude of uses, pistons are a great example of this. The idea and implementation is relatively simple but they add a huge amount of possibility to the game. The difference between this addition of functionality and the addition of gameplay can be seen in the Aether mod. The mod adds a whole new world to explore with it's own tools and items, these are largely additions in gameplay.

New blocks used to create new tools with special properties. They have an intended use and are relatively limited due to this. Conversely the mod also adds bouncy clouds, fall damage reducing clouds, floating blocks (gravitite) and the quicksoil. These additions have a great amount of potential in adding functionality to the game, the uses for them are innumerable and they aren't limited by their intended purpose.

The mod suffers from an overload of simple gameplay, which gets boring quickly and overall doesn't actually add very much to the game.. and from a lack of mechanic addition which would give Minecraft an increase in longevity. What is in the mod is fairly well executed and the world is amazing to look at, but the flaws detract very severely from it.

Just noticed the subtitle ... I believe you can report him to an agency for distributing viruses.

He didn't distribute any viruses. O_o.
Simon downloaded the NOW Pack and did a video series on it, don't you think he'd be a bit pissed off if there were viruses?
Considering how popular he is in the Minecraft community, you would've heard about it.

Does the 1.6.4 mods also work with 1.6.6?
It is not becuz I didn't read I've just heard its only 1.6.5 that still works.
    I need the SpawnerGUI mod.

Yes, it is because you didn't read. The first line of the OP clearly says ALL mods work with 1.6.6 unless otherwise stated.

The rule of thumb is that server owners should be able to choose to opt-in to allow the mod, rather than have to hunt down your mod to opt-out.

posted a message on modding, installation code problem
Solution: Get a Linux-CD and install a Linux distro beside the Windows one. Install your crap on that.
Though in all honesty, you really ought to just talk to your Dad about it. Explain to him why you installed Minecraft without his knowledge and explain what it is.
If he's a remotely reasonable person, I'm sure he'll understand.
    Good luck ;o

You stole the name of my server for your mod...

    ~Sol

Oh Noes! It's the end of the world! A mod with the same name as your server!

Really now... Really? It's just a coincidence.
This adds adventure mode to minecraft. Add craft to adventure and you get adventure craft. It's a logical name that was most likley Not taken from your server.

So, because I actually bothered to RESEARCH the name to make sure it wasn't used already by someone else means what? Nothing?

    Get over yourself.

The server I host is incredibly popular. It's not like some backwater server. It has been around since August 2010. I am just disappointed that a mod has used the EXACT same name (no spaces, capital AC). If it was yours I'm sure you would have had a lot more to say about it than I did judging by your super mature and well written post.

    ~Sol

You're telling someone else to get over themselves while claiming that you have some sort of exclusive right to an amazingly simple compound word?
The depth of your idiocy amazes me.
AdventureCraft is a name anyone could independently come up with, you were not the first, this mod will not be the last.

    In other news not about spergy children;
I'm in love with this mod, the things the community makes never cease to amaze me. Looking forward to the finished version ^^.

Mod edit: Warning issued for blatantly insulting the user.

posted a message on It's possible to pirate the game.
    For one.
This is the Mapping & Modding forum, take this thread someplace it belongs.
For two, no. If you take all the class files and jar files and everything that you need to run Minecraft it'll still tell you that you need to play online at least once.
The only way around that is to crack the game. Which isn't terribly difficult, by the number of cracked copies.
Onto the point of whether or not it's moral to pirate the game, that's completely dependent on the individuals perception of morality.
How do you expect to argue that?

A three block deep pool of water should dampen a fall from any height so that you don't take any damage.
Be sure to make it wide enough so you land in it.
