posted a message on What's your first shelter when you enter a new world?
Wow your shelter is quite nice for a first day shelter. Mine is usually built into the side of a cave since it's relatively safe, and you only have to worry about what is outside of the door, not on a creeper sneaking up beside your house (always happens to me). Usually after that, I gather tons of cobble and build a small house with a wall, farm, well, mine etc. It's also a safe place to work during the night.

posted a message on Chain P2 vs Iron P1?
How... how could you say that Limey! Chainmail armor is awesome. It's the hardest armor type to obtain which makes getting a full set of it a challenge. If you are talking about usefulness though, chain is not that great like you said.. Makes a great collector's item in SMP though.

posted a message on Dark Room Not Spawning Fast
Caves will often steal the mobs from your room so lighting them up will help as Mouzen said. Also, try to AFK farther away from the room. Try putting down a few hoppers (if your mob farm is automatic), then come back to see if you got more items. Mobs won't spawn within a certain distance of you so the farther the better.

posted a message on What's wrong with most of the people in minecraft?
Whenever someone tries to harass you, the key is to never respond to them. They will often vent at you because either you just beat them, or they've had a bad day. When some people lose, they feel the need to have a reason to justify their loss. That's why they'll often call you a hacker, or blame your connection just to make it clear that it was your fault they lost, thus lifting the shame from themselves. They just can't live with the fact that "I lost", and feel they must always win, which explains why you were harassed. They want to make you feel bad so they can get the feeling of winning by hurting your feelings.

The key is to never respond to them. They won't feel the satisfaction of making you feel bad if you don't acknowledge their message. The only way that he/she can feel like they've won is if their message was known to you. If you don't respond, they have no idea where the message went, or how it affected you. I've had people repeat the same exact message 5 times, just to make sure I read their message so they could feel the satisfaction of beating me. After not responding, the person just left since they probably felt like they were fighting an unbeatable battle. If the person is persistent, just respond with a short message like "just play the game bud" or something along those lines. Clear, concise, and shows that you really don't care that much about them.

posted a message on What is your favorite part about Minecraft
For me, it's the serenity of the game. Once you build a village or something to protect you, the game is so peaceful. Fishing, just walking around, farming, etc. No guns, checkpoints; just whatever you want to do. It's like having your own little world.

posted a message on Addiction? What is the longest time you've spent playing Minecraft?
My longest was for about 3 hours. I can't play for much longer or my eyes start to get dry. Breaks are good because usually I think of something creative while I'm off of Minecraft.

posted a message on Is 1.8 Lagging for you? POLL - Let's settle this issue!
I posted in this thread a while back when I was having severe lag with 1.8 on my SMP server. On 1.7 I was getting around 30 fps but with 1.8, I was getting around 10 fps with MAJOR lag spikes, and horrendous amounts of tick skipping.

Now I get around 50 fps on the same server with absolutely no lag. My fix was putting in the "nogui" line in the .bat file that starts the server. The Java GUI seemed to make the game lag horribly for me, but when running the server on the command prompt (nogui), I get no lag whatsoever.

Go to the Minecraft wiki for setting up servers, and scroll down to the "Starting the Server" section. It will tell you everything you need to know about setting up the .bat file without the java gui.

    Minecraft Server Wiki: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Setting_up_a_server

As for single-player, I don't seem to be lagging at all. One upgrade I suggest is switching to Java 64-bit. You can check your Java Version in-game by pressing F3 (debug screen), and looking in the top right corner of the text. x32 is 32 bit, and x64 is 64 bit. It makes a world of a difference to run on 64-bit Java. You may need to update your browser to 64-bit for it to work, and only update to 64-bit if you have a 64-bit operating system.

    Java Download: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

Hope it helps settle the lag issue for most users.

posted a message on I just can't....Play Survival...
Think of something you like to do in survival mode. Farming? Exploring? etc. There's so much more, but in creative mode, Minecraft just isn't Minecraft for some reason. The "always be prepared" feeling is non-existent. You don't need to organize your hot bar efficiently, or have to be careful when building up high on creative. Creative is fun, but survival is just so much more exciting. Try playing SMP with your friends.
