Don't use cracked launchers like TLauncher, even if just to debug an issue, as they may come with malware, which can cause the game to fail to connect to the official servers (e.g. check your hosts file to make sure there are no entries referring to Mojang's services, although this is probably not why the launcher isn't installing as many people have had issues with it).

Also, to expand on what your account stores, it only stores whether you bought the game and your username/UUID/skin, so you want to be sure to make backups of your data in the .minecraft folder (at least saves) if you ever change computers or delete it to fix some issue (though you shouldn't ever have to delete it as the launcher verifies file integrity on every launch; issues that do occur are due to running different versions in the same game directory, or a corrupted "data" file, including world saves, data packs, resource packs, and options.txt; as well as modded versions, which disable the file integrity check).

Noted! I'm back to using the official launcher now and everything is going so smoothly. I hope I can use the new launcher soon in an update or something.

Keep on the old Launcher - Windows 7/8 version:

The new one have issues on some systems

Thank you, TileEntity! It solved the problem right away and the launcher started and installed the game with no issues whatsoever. This question is off-topic but is the skin library in this launcher synchronized to your account or is it only locally stored in your computer?

    Hi,

I'm receiving a "We weren't able to install the app (0x803FB104)" error while attempting to install Minecraft through the official launcher on Windows Server 2022 Standard. I'm able to install Minecraft through external launchers, however, such as TLauncher.

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

I got a friend who can't play the game because it crashes on startup, here's what he sent me. Running the game on normal mode and Optifine leads to a crash. Graphics card drivers and the Java Runtime Environment should be up-to-date.

Unless you're typing just hit / or t and press the up arrow key. This will automatically go to your last typed command or text. This makes it way less time consuming.

Come on people, this answer won't simply do. We need ideas, suggestions or available modifications for easy building!

Do not suggest /gamemode 3 - it was already looked into but didn't work out well as planned!

If this was posted in the wrong section, please correct it because I don't use the forums often!

So I'm building a bunker, and obviously a bunker has to be explosion resistant so I decided to cover it with an outer layer of Obsidian, but that would require a lot of work and time since the bunker is pretty big so I decided to get a no-clipping mod unfortunately there are none right now for Minecraft 1.8 and I'm stuck with /gamemode 3 - which has some use but still makes it difficult to build the bunker since it doesn't allow you to interact with blocks but allows you to pass through anything.

I don't know how to use MCEdit but if you can give a set of instructions on how to replace a group of stone blocks with Obsidian then it would be much help!

    Suggestions and ideas are open.

I think you have to restart your router after portforwarding, not 100% sure.
I restarted it and when I connected it said that I failed to connect to the server. It's probably down! I checked it with fCraft Configuration and said that the Port was Closed, but before I restarted it, it said it was open! What!?

Hi, I've been trying to host a Minecraft Classic Server using fCraft and saying that I needed to port forward, I opened up my browswer and typed in 192.168.1.1 then entered the router's login thing, went to Advanced Setup, then NAT then clicked Virtual Server and then I typed fCraft as the Application Name, 3355 as the Start Port and 3355 as the End Port then 192.168.1.1 as the Local IP Address and I went back to fCraft then let it check the port 3355 and said that it was closed and I needed to port forward but I did! But it doesn't work :(

I used an online port checker to see if its open but it said it wasn't. Also portforward.com doesn't help, my router wasn't even found there. I found the same model but it was a different brand and didn't work out so well.
