I have this problem on my desktop computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit,
where no matter WHAT, minecraft won't go any further than "Done loading" at 90/95%, this only shows for a split second (very little time), and then the applet goes black, and nothing happens.
I've tried the following:
downgrade my java from version 6 update 23 (tried both 23 and 64 bit versions of java) to both 22 and 21 (there's a reason, which I will tell in a bit),
reinstall minecraft from various editions, both alpha and beta, and tried to update it (then the done loading happens, and I'm back to square 1),
Tried to adjust various settings, didn't help either...
NOW! the funny part is, that my laptop, which runs Windows Vista home premium 64-bit (which has the same core as Win 7), runs just fine (though with too much lag, as it is just an Intel celeron processor and intel chipset graphichs),
this computer runs java version 6 update 22 (that's why the downgrade of java on my desktop).
I also have 2 friends with win 7 home premium 64-bit, and they run it just fine.. one of them uses java version 6 update 21 (again, that's why I tried downgrading)...
How come it won't work with me then?
